This cabinet has more features than most with stereo wiring option, extention speaker jack and a regular 16ohm input very well thought out which makes it more versatile than 9-10 cabinets out there it is heavy so that is a drawback

Sound Quality : 10
I use this cabinet in conjunction with my Peavey JSX head a very nice tube head dont I use to knox Peavey but they are putting out some really nice stuff these days. Back to the cabinet it is an awesome combination with the head. I sometimes use the cabinet in conjunction with an Avatar 2X12 loaded with celestion Vintage 30s. Dave at Avatar is a great guy and makes great speakers at the bes t prices but that said the g-flex IMHO is a better sounding cabinet. I tihnk it is very versatile like other posters have said. I guess because it is ported it shines in tight bass response I play mostly Les Paul Customs which are big sounding guitars. I agree with others in that it sounds bigger in many cases than a marshall 1960a which I think is an overrated cabinet. I thik the speakers are really good and I would not change them as they seem to be a really good match for the cabinet. I have learned over the years and it took some time that when you find something that sounds really good leave it alone and just enjoy it

Reliability : 8
The cabinet has never let me down I do not like hauling it around though. Mostly I leave it where I regulalrly gig at if I can. I have the casters which is very important. It is very well built and designed to last as far as I can tell.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I bought this used for I think $350.00 so I got a really good deal I have not dealt with Genz Benz but I have heard some very good things in that they are quite responsive and customer oriented.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I have been plying for about 30 years and I have owned way tooo much gear good and bad so I think that helps me a little in evaluating equipment. That said you cannot go wrong if you just listen and listen again. In the end you have to be the judge in what sounds good. Although we all know some things are just plain crap. This is not it is a thing of toanl wonder. Yes it is just a cabinet but it goes to show you what great cabinet design matched with the right speakers can do for your sound. I will not change the speakers out because as I stated earlier it is my belief that they worked pretty hard in getting this thing right and I think they got it right. This is one cabinet or piece of equipment I hope never to sell. If they were not so heavy I migt buy another one but they are expensive. I guess you get what you pay for.

I don't think I have to talk about the features here. Everybody else has already done that!!! But it has alot of nice features no doubt!! I like the beer cooler handles on it. Very thoughtful!!

Sound Quality : 10
It sounds phenominal! I don't know what else to say. I did change the speakers though to Electro Voice EV12L Black Label 200 watters and things went from incredibly good to outstanding.

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank!!

I have actually had the pleasure of speaking with Jeff Gensler on many an occasion and he is just the most awesome person to talk to. Jeff is the kind of guy who actually listens to the guitar players needs and is very pro active in making things happen, not just brushing things off like alot of other companies do. When they were in the development stages of the El Diablo head we talked for a good hour and he asked me what I would personally like to see in an amp.

I think that's awesome!!

Overall Rating : 10
I own a pair of these G Flex cabs that I loaded with the EV12L Black Label Drivers to give me that much more of what I wanted. The stock drivers are great though!! I bought a pair of these back in 2004 and tarded them for a Marshall 4/12. Boy was I an ass!!

But as you can see I have come full circle right back to the G Flex 212.

To do that tells you one thing......

Nothing else compares!! Thanks Jeff & Co for an outstanding product!!

If you have a rack system cab is perfect height and depth to support a rack either on it's side or normal.

Sound Quality : 10
This is by far the best cab I have played on. Currently I have a 4x12 1960A Marshal cab. I have run both a Peavy 120/120 classic and the 50/50 classic tube rack power amp through a line 6 pod pro, line 6 mod pro, line 6 echo pro. The 2x12 Cab blows away the 4x12 Marshall stack. I am a huge marshal fan and have not had any problems with my old cab but after buying the 2x12 Jenz Benz I dont know if I will use the marshal for touring or practice. I run the cab stereo. I a/b'd both cabs to see the difference the cab has a tighter bottom end and the mids and highs are clearer then the marshal. Buy this cab I based my purchase on this website and man was it worth it!

Buy this cabinet! The only thing I can mention that would make this better would be casters or another 2x12. By far the best cab I have played on. I play Prog/Rock the clean, heavy and super saturated delays sound incredible!!!

Not much to it really, plug and play. It has always had enough power for my gigs, but is so much easier to carry around then a 4x12. I could put this baby in my trunk (of my compact car)w/ my amp head, and a few guitars.

Sound Quality : 10
I run a Marshall DSL through this cab and usually a Les Paul w/ P-90. I love the tone I get through it. I used mine in a small band without a bass player. It really helped fill in that missing link and in a pinch, I could run my bass through it and it did the trick. I play punk, rock, pop, but don't get into metal or a crisp, clean sound. Very little drop-D, but a lot of good old Marshall Crunch. I don't get super focused on fine details of my sound, so maybe I could do better, but I really don't know. Just like most intruments, one size won't fit all.

Reliability : 10
Never had a problem with it, infact it has been used several times to help out a fellow musician, who's cab did fail on them. It's built sturdy and solid. I don't know when it was built, but I bought it used 4 years ago and it sounds just as good today.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No need for this!

Overall Rating : 10
I have never regretted this purchase. Big on sound, but easy to transport. Looks and sound great.

If I could change anything about my setup it would be my Marshall. The DSL just doesn't have the versatility I would like.

I think the features have been pretty much covered by other reviewers.

I like the sound of this Cabinet. I tested it in the music store with a Peavey Wolfgang Special QT and a Peavey XXX head. I had a Peavey XXX head at home so needless to say I walked out of the store with the Peavey Wolfgang Special QT and the Genz Benz G-Flex cabinet that day. I was impressed, but my wife wasn't amused with what I brought home though after my quick(just looking)visit to the music store.

I've been playing through this cabinet for about 2-3 years now. I've tried various configurations with MONO and STEREO(4,8, and 16 ohm settings) and I can't complain about the fat sound that I get.

I am playing a Paul Reed Smith Standard 24 with a stoptail bridge, Peavey Wolfgang Special QT, and various other guitars, going into a Ibanez Tube Screamer, into a Peavey XXX. The effects loop is simple - BBE Sonic Maximizer, Boss Graphic EQ, and Boss Digital Delay.

I've played a Parker Nitefly on this same setup(they sound good anyway) and it sounded great through this setup.

Reliability : 10
Never had a problem with it.

Customer Support : 10
Never had to call custome support for any reason.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 18 years. If it were lost or stolen I would definitely buy it again.

I looked at lots of cabinets before I bought this one and I thought this one sounded the best out of the ones that I had listened to.

I bought this cabinet in 2005. It's a great sounding cabinet. I play hard rock, metal, blues. 35 years of playing experience with Marshalls, Fender, Yamaha. It's got some great features for 16 ohm, mono, 8 ohm. Nice idea!!

Sound Quality : 10
Dimarzio Super Distortion original 70's in the bridge and a PAF in the neck of a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Gold Top (1975) and Custom 1979 LP Cherry sunburst with identical pick ups. 2003 Gibson Melody Maker with a Dimarzio DP-209 Super Distortion. I use an ENGL tube pre-amp model 620 (noy available anymore) and power the whole rig with a QSC RMX 850 into a few rack units (Lexicon) The sound with this cabinet is the best I've used in 25 years, hands down. I also have a 1974 Marshall 1960 Slant 4x4 with vintage original 16 ohm 25w Green Back Celestian speakers (that's right, all original) and this Genz Benz out-plays the 4x4 easily for crunch, tone quality and of course weight!!

Reliability : 10
So far so good, no problems.

Customer Support : 10
I actually clled the company with a question and to my surprise the owner Jeff Genzler answered the phone and was an awesome guy to talk to. He explained a few things to be about wiring and spent as much time as I needed on the phone. He even emailed me back to thank me and he took the time to check out my web site. Now talk about great customer support, the guy and the company are first-rate!!!

Overall Rating : 10
Have been playing for 35 years folks. I own too many other pieces of gear to mention. One being a Marshall 1974 MK-2 50W head with original Mullard tubes. It sounds pretty darn thunderous with the GB Flex. I don't even use the 4x4 any more because of weight. Only thing I'd like to see on the 2x12 is a caster for wheels on the side like their bass cabinet has. Outside of that, the people writing these negative feedbacks are amatures and they don't realize not only do you need a great cabinet, but you also need to have a great head/amp and most of all, YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY... A lot has to do with tone quality and it takes years to develop that, go ask Gary Moore if you want to learn about tone quality. Lynch is an excellent player but we all can't have his sound, it's in the hands and mind and heart of the player. It takes time to perfect your skill.

Features : 10
Most of the features have already been mentioned - however, I'm not sure that anyone has mentioned that this thing is wired to run mono at either 4 OR 16 ohms. This is a really great feature, in my opinion, because with the two speakers you have three wiring options, and this thing has them all covered - they thought of EVERYTHING! The handles on this cab are great, too. They make it really easy to lug around.

Sound Quality : 10
Unbelievably clear. I know that a few people have complained about one thing or another, but I can't help but feel that they have no idea how to rate any of this stuff. First of all, what the hell kind of gear are these people using? EVERYTHING that you use makes a difference in you tone - guitar (type of wood, etc.), pickups, preamp, power amp, effects, cables - and if you have just one weak link in the chain the whole thing is going to sound nasty.

I've got an Ibanez 7-string with a Tone Zone (Dimarzio) and Air Norton(Dimarzio) pickups and a Jackson with a TB-4 (Seymour Duncan). I play those into a Triaxis and 50/50 and I use a G-Major for some VERY light reverb and delay (I like my sound very dry). This cabinet is nothing short of amazing! When I first got it I was playing through a Boogie 4x12 so I had the chance to compare the two side by side - the GB kicked the Boogie into the next time zone! The Boogie cab sounded choked, and bassy. By comparision, the GB is totally clear. Some reviewers have said this cab is too midrange - well, as one reviewer happened to point out, the guitar is a midrange instrument, so if you heard a guitar signal uncolored by a bassy cab, what do think you should hear?

Of course, one thing that was absolutely CRUCIAL to the success of this cab was to get it off of the floor and put it on an amp stand - it made all the difference. Just to have some fun I started playing around to see how I could get the GB cab to sound just like the 4x12 and I found a way to do it: drape a heavy blanker over it!

Reliability : 10
As long as you don't push the speakers with too much power, I can't see how much can go wrong. The back plate and jacks are solid...I think that they could take quite a beating and still work great!

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never had to deal with them, which is a big plus. One forgotten aspect of 'Customer Support' is when a company cares enough to make a product that doesn't have weaknesses.

Overall Rating : 10
I just can't believe what some people have said about this thing. I'd like to say this to the guy that said the bass just kept getting louder and louder as he turned up his amp - IT'S YOUR AMP!! If it was the cab then I would have the same damn problem, wouldn't I? I've been playing for 17 years...I've been using rack gear for 14 of that...I've used tons of gear and I have never, and I mean NEVER, found a better cab. I can't wait to get another one so I can have a REALLY huge sound!

You know the features. Flexed baffle. Ported cab for increased bass response. 75-watt speakers with larger voice coil. etc.

What the hell is all the hype about. I ordered this cab without having heard it (I got a good deal on it), and I had heard nothing but stellar reviews from this site. I play hard rock and metal mainly. I know this may come as a huge shock...get ready for this...I use regualer old E tuning!!!! Not drop-d or c or a, just standard E. I know that might be heard to believe but it's true. First of all, a guitar is supposed to be a midrange instrument. The midrange tone of this cab is way too bassy and it makes your sound very weak and flat sounding. I use this with a Peavey XXX, which is a great amp and is not too bassy, but at louder volumes I have to turn the bass almost completely off to get a decent tone. Even without the ridiculous amount of bass, the higher treble frequences of this cab are harsh and brittle. This things sucks nuts. Don't make the same mistake I did: Don't buy it. The only thing this cab would be good for is for bands that have bass-heavy, drop-tuned guitars. I admit, it does have a cool bass tone, but it is way too overpowering. Not good. I will be selling this and getting a Marshall 1960TV cab, althouhg the idea of lugging around an 100-pound 4 by 12 is annoying, and is why I got a 2 by 12 in the first place. Ughhh

I've had this cab about a year now and am pretty sure it was made in 2002. The cab has two 12" Genz Benz GBE 1240-V75. The resemble a V30 somewhat, but the voice coil is a little larger. It can be used in mono or stereo and (duhh... ) has four ports on the bottom.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using Les Paul Standards and Customs with a Duncan Distortion/'59 combination through a VHT UL with this cab. The cab is very tight, punchy and clear. It projects very well and has great thunder and dimension without being boomy. It feels like the speakers take care of the high end and mids and the cab design takes care of the bass. It's very punchy, which is the opposite what you think a ported cab should do.

I put V30's in mine for a while. They were similar, but had a bit more high end. I've since gone back to the GBE 1240-V75's and been very happy with them. The GBE 1240-V75's sounded a bit thicker and fuller and rolled off a bit of high-end.

Reliability : 10
It's a cab. Unless you destroy a speaker or drop it off a building, chances are it'll be ok. Cab's don't have any moving parts or flow a lot of energy through them like amps do.

Customer Support : 10
I've only had a coupel questions, but Jeff Genzler has responded to me personally, usually the same day. Never had any problems, just questions about this cab and other products.

Overall Rating : 9
I love this cab. If I had to use a 2x12 instead of a 4x12, I'd absolutely have no problem bringing this cab with me. I love it so much I've already ordered the 4x12 version to replace my Marshall 1960AV.

AMAZING!!!!! Had it for three days. Luv it. Fourth day: took out the orginal speakers and put in my V30's. Luv it even more. V30's are staying. There's more break up with V30's at earlier stage. Check with GB tech, they said it should be awsome and they're right. Thanks Guys!

This is the new (three months old) G Flex cab. Two 75 watt Genz Benz speakers, mono or stereo operation, dimensions - 30x15x21 - 62 lbs, and built very well. This seems to be a very versatile cab for both clean and distorted tones for most people.

Sound Quality : 5
Overall I did not enjoy this cab. It is a nice cab but think there is a tad too much hype around this cab when there are cabs for less money that are just as good. The average person can not hear a difference in tone based on the depth of a cab, and I don't think you necessarily have to have a large 15" deep 212 to get good tone. I have a smaller cab that is 30x13x16 that I and the band feels projects better tone and is more dynamic than the G Flex. The G Flex just sounded and felt flat to our ears....even some of our friends listening in on a few rehearsals felt the same way. Nobody was thrilled with what they heard from the G Flex. I think you can get a cab that is just as good or better with Madison, Avatar, and many others. I recently learned that George Lynch uses this cabinet only for clean tones....not distorted tones. Myself, I would rather have two smaller 212 cabs or a 412 cab than one of the G Flex cabs. I couln't imagine carrying two 62lb 212 cabs to a gig for no reason.
I use a very powerful amp head which can tend to fart out in a 212 cab and the farting just became more pronounced with the G Flex no matter how we tweaked it. Again, most guys love these cabs so don't go by my review. I am only one person, but I felt I had to be honest in my assessment. I ended up selling this cab.

2/12 ported cab, I think everything has been said in previous reviews.

Sound Quality : 10
This cab is absolutely amazing. I've had mine for about a year & just ordered another to run stereo. Very massive sound, good cleans, great at making the room thump unlike any other cab you have ever tried. My set up is this - ernie ball petrucci > akg wireless> boss gt-5 (for reverb, delay&flange only, also midi switches the VHT GP3) > VHT GP-3 preamp (in the loop of the boss-gt5) >BBE Sonic Maximizer> VHT 2/90/2 > benz cabs. The best combination I've run across in 25 yrs. This cab will generally kick the ass of 95% of the 4/12 cabs out there. No kidding. Also, the spealers are slightly angled out. Wider dispersion than most cabs. I also use it sometimes standing on end in smaller clubs.

Reliability : 10
Like a tank, gig with it regularly, never had a problem.

Customer Support : 10
never had to use them, thats the best you can get.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've been playing for 25 years give or take the five I dont remember...lol. I've had about 8 cabs during that time. I was going to to buy a VHT fat bottom but figured since I think this is the best cab I've ever...played with, I might as well get another. Like I said I plan on using one on each side of the stage for stereo.
Nothing short of amazing.........you cant go wrong. Makes a crappy amp sound good, makes a great amp sound awsome..

Well this is a ported 212 cab for guitar. With 4,8, and 16 ohms settings which works great with a peavey 5150 amp which allows for ohm settings such as that. PLus there is a speaker extentsion jack for a another 212 cab for mono.Depending on your amp this cab is stereo by its self. The cab was perfectly made with strong handles and good solid wood construction as addition to all that it is american made.

Sound Quality : 10
Well I use a great deal of gear lets first start off with the main axes used. The first is a epiphone les paul birds eye maple top loaded with super distortion humbuckers. Second is a ESP LTD MV-200 loaded seymour designed pickups. This cab is balls too the wall sound. I run a peavey 5150 amp head. I was pleased with the peavey 5150 since EVH is one fo my main enfluences. My style of music various i love playing hardcore to metal to just van halen covers. the clean is punchy on the amp when using the Genz Benz 212 cab. First min i was so amazed on what I was missing in tone. Most people fail to realize that certain cabs are made to handle style of music. Face it you cant play death metal or new metal on a classic fender 412 amp combo unit or a 65 twin reverb. The gain of the 5150 thru this cab was undoubtly the best I heard my own amp sing. Now I'm actually thinking on buying a mesa dual or a peavey triple x. And as i have done with this purchase of this cab. I will use Harmony-central reviews be a guide and keep a open mind.

Reliability : 10
I'm actually settled on using this cab for shows and gigging.Far as a back up, this thing is solid So far so good no problems yet and I imagine there shouldnt be any long as I care for my gear like a responsible person should.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Well I order thru American Musical supply. The folks there are very polite and helpful. This cab was bought only thru their web site and sent droped ship from the Genz Benz warehouse. In all fairness to AMS and Genze Benz I will leave this rating open for disussion by others. However the shippng was faster than expected. So much appluase for Genz Benz

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for over 11 years now. This cab was bought thru reading reviews like this posted here on harmony-central and a leap of faith on what i had read. If ever stolen it would be replaced in a heart beat. Its worth ever penny spent. I wish more companies would step up to the plate and give consumers that professianl grade gear as Genz Benz does

Well featured cabinet, 2x12 75watts each speaker stereo two mono options extension out, and the best handles on any cabinet. Good looks too.

Sound Quality : 10
This cabinet has it's own unique sound. But it is a very good sound. I am using a couple of different setups, but the one this will mainly be used for is guitar - roland GP100 (somtimes in conjuction with Marshall JMP-1 and Mesa V Twin) and when stereo Roland VG-8 - sonic maximizer - VHT 2 90 2 power amp. This cab has the best tight low end I have ever heard on a cab. I also own a Hiwatt 4123 4x12 and this has tighter bottom than that, and I thought that was the best (as well it should be for a $1300 cab) I also use a Carvin Legacy 2x12 with greenbacks that has a great low end surprisingly for greenbacks, but this thing kills them both when it comes to palm muted chords. This cab has less mids than many, but it turns out to suit my taste very well. You can still get the mids if you want them, by dialing a little more in, but naturally they aren't as pronounced as say with a Marshall cab. The cab itself is quite heavy for a 2x12 66lbs, but doesn't feel it with the great top mounted handles. But it does sound it. It's really a great design I think and any of you who are car audio enthusiasts will realize how much tighter bass sounds out of a ported flex cab than a closed. There is no boominess just real good thud. All in all, one of the best cabs I have heard. Listen to George Lynch, this really nails that sound, and many more, but that sound is what is natural to this cab. OH, and BTW is sounds really GREAT clean too.

Reliability : 10
Seems like it would take a beating. I don't have a lot of experience with Genz Benz, but it seems like a well made product. The only thing that can be improved and this goes for 99% of the companies out there is TOLEX, yeah it can look nice, but lets start making products that don't end up looking like garbage after a year of touring or less.

Customer Support : 9
Haven't had any problems, new product for me, but have emailed with questions before and very quick to respond.

Overall Rating : 10
This is one of the best 2x12s I have encountered. I bought it actually on the hope of all these reviews and I was very pleased. I actually and going to probably buy another in the near future. I love gear and this one goes in the highly recommended list. Forget about Marshall and Mesa cabs, they are only popular cause of their name. There are many other cabs that blow them both away, they're good, but not as good. I was very set on getting either Bogner, VHT, or Rivera, and I might still add some of them to my ever growing setup, but this one came onto that list and will stay there. If you are playing rock whether it be clean or metal this is a great cab, it you are looking for blues, this can get it real good, but there might be one or two that might sound even better it's like a 10 compared to a 10+. Great cab and suits me very well. Buy one, find a decent price don't get ripped off, got mine from Acoutisic Axis Instruments in VA, $410 brand new, that's pretty low, not impossible to get less, but don't pay much more, they retail I think for $699. Have fun.

This is a 2002 cabinet -- the features have all been listed in other reviews here, but basically, 2x12 75watt speakers (150 mono), ported, really cool handles -- like a beer cooler!

Sound Quality : 10
The sound is INCREDIBLE!!! Let me tell you I had read several reviews, and wanted to hear one before I purchased, but was not able to. The dealer wanted me to purchase a Mesa Boogie 2x12 rectifier cab instead, but I (thankfully) went with the Genz Benz. When I plugged it in my band went "WOW!", it blows away my Marshall 1960 4x12, the drummer thought the Marshall was unplugged at first. The tone is out of this world, and this thing has some serious balls! I play through a Line 6 Vetta HD, and use the Genz and the Marshall as a split stereo sound -- I will be replacing the Marshall ASAP with another Genz. I use a variety of guitars including: Fender, EVH Wolfgang, Jackson, Ibanez, Jay Turser, and Gibson, and the combination of the vetta and the genz is outstanding. My band is a hard rock style band, and the cabinet is perfect for my sound. Believe me -- this 2x12 is way more cabinet than any 4x12!

Reliability : 10
Had it a couple weeks, gigged a few times with it -- no problems. It is built like a tank, and weighs around 62lbs., so I have no fear of destroying it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
3 year warranty, heard lots of stories about people contacting Genz Benz and the owner returning/answering calls. Don't know if it is true, and I hope I don't have to find out!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing about 21 years, I think this cabinet has done as much for my overall sound as almost anything equipmentwise that I own. If it were stolen I would replace it without thinking twice, I compared it to all other 2x12 and several 4x12 (Marshall, Mesa, Line 6, Crate) and it blew everything out of the water -- and it was cheaper than most! I can't comment on the sound with styles like jazz, country, etc. -- I play hard rock, but if you are looking at a cabinet designed by George Lynch, you probably play rock/metal anyway. If you are looking for that extra piece to fatten up your tone, or you don't think you are getting the sound you should -- look into getting a G-flex. It was a great decision for me to purchase one, and I look forward to getting more g-flex cabs in the future.

2002 2x12 cab, versatile for all styles (country to metal to jazz to classic rock to whatever), mono in:stereo in:ext. out, 75 watts per side stereo, 150 watts mono, recessed handles, sturdy grill, ported for full range sound

would have preferred the newer version with "beer cooler" type handles on the corners

Sound Quality : 10
I have two of these that bought specifically for use with a Line6 Vetta Combo. My main guitars are a custom Ibanez Saber 7-string with custom wound DiMarzio Blaze pickups, an Ibanez RG7-something with custom Duncan Invaders, and a Schecter Jazz-7 semi-hollow body.

I play all styles, but live, tend to do classic rock, southern rock, hard rock, old-style swing/jazz, chris isaac type surf tones, and shred-metal.

When doing an A/B comparison, I found that the G-Flex 2x12s "open up" my sound considerably. The overall effect is a more crisp and bigger tone range, without the side effect of becoming too brittle. It was quite surprising that the audible improvement in my sound was so drastic and clear.

Basically, I've been playing professionally for well over 20 years, and in the constant search for tone, these are the best sounding cabinets that I've ever heard or played through. Period.

If you own a Vetta Combo, I firmly believe that one or two of these is the best companion(s) for it that you can buy, and is almost a mandatory purchase in order to get the most out of your amp.

A word of warning: these are ported cabs, and may not sound ideal with certain heads. The guy that I bought them from didn't like the sound with his VettaHD, since the HD (vs. the Combo) is designed to be used with closed-back cabinets, and the G-Flex 2x12 response is more similar to an open-back cab. He was happier with his closed-4x12 with celestion greenbacks. His, however, is the only less-than-stellar response that I've seen anywhere.

So far, so good: Very rugged, and they're able to take EXTREME volumes without a hickup. I'll give it an 8 for now, as I haven't had them long enough to really abuse them properly. ;)

Haven't used 'em, don't expect to.

Again, after over 20 years of playing, these things SHOULD cure my quest for speaker enclosures. I own too much other gear to list, but I now have all sorts of stock and custom enclosures that I need to unload now. After playing through these, everything else is sub-standard sounding to me.

If they were stolen, I would immediately replace them. The price/performance ratio on these bad-boys is fantastic. Don't tell the folks at Genz-Benz, but I'd probably pay twice the price to sound this good.

I've compared it to many other enclosures, including the Vetta 2x12 extension cab, my custom loaded 2x12s with celestion classic lead 80s, my custom 2x12s with custom celestion 50s, and my jackson 4x12s with custom celestion 30s. I need to ditch ALL of these now, as I'll never play through them again.

My only wish is that I had the latest ones with the corner "beer cooler" handles, but c'est la vie, no?

Just as an FYI, I found out about these bad boys at www.instituteofnoise.com on their line6 forum, and boy am I glad that I did. After all the rave reviews here at HC, and at the above mentioned site, i had to give 'em a shot. Anyone serious about guitar tone should do the same.

I don't have to stress on the features of this cabinet as you probably either have read other reviews or know about them already.
But to make a long story short, I have two of them. They are 2/12's and the main thing is they are closed back, with a flexible baffle system and each cabinet has ports in the front. A little bit bigger than your average 2/12 but no matter. A bit heavy coming in at about 62 lbs. But again no big deal.

Sound Quality : 10
My current setup is a Line 6 Vetta Head with floorboard and these two G-Flex Cabinets. I have two Line 6 4/12 Cabinets but in all honesty the G-Flex cabs leave em in the dust. Guitar wise my main axes are a PRS Custom 24, PRS Tremonti Signature, Jackson PC-1 Phil Collen Signature Model, A Peavey Custom Shop Mahogany Wolfgang, and a Peavey Standard Wolfgang.
In all honesty my goal was to put together in my heart what I felt the best sounding, most versitile guitar amplification system out there. I bought the Vetta Head solely based on this format and was very thankful I did. The 4/12's were nice, I had them since I owned my POD PRO and Mesa 50/50 power amp (my backup system) but two things never left my head, and that was for one that carrying around two 4/12 cabinets was really a pain in the ass, and second, although the sound was really good at best, I wanted to shoot for A-1 Spectacular where nothing else compared, and I wanted something more compact. I knew this was going to be a hard chore but I was determined and after the past few months I was blessed when introduced to the G-Flex cabinets.
I have to admit I was skeptical at first, I mean c'mon, a 2/12 that's supposed to blow the doors off many of the 4/12's out there. NOT!!!!
But then I set two of them up with my beloved Vetta HD, plugged in my guitar, fired it up and couldn't believe my ears. All I kept saying to myself was that I must have been dreaming and that it just was not possible but you know what, it was possible, in fact, it was reality.
The cleans shimmered and had the complexity and beauty associated with only your finest wine costing hundreds of dollars a bottle.
When kicked into overdrive, you get rewarded with HUGE tone that you will never find in any 4/12 on the market, and hence I do a lot of drop D tuning and even went so far as to tune to Korn A standards and cranked it up and there was no farting coming from the speakers whatsoever. In fact when playing chords driving massive distortion or overdrive it was a pleasant surprise as this was the only cabinet on the market that enabled me to hear the actual individual notes in a chord. More body, more fullness, across all bandwidths without ever sounding shrill and very pleasant on the ears. Absolutely amazing to sum it all up in a nutshell!! Giving a ten here is a strict injustice!!! These guys deserve a million!!

Reliability : 10
Wel, it sure is sturdy, I mean c'mon it's a speaker cabinet for christ sakes!! Would I use it without a backup? Why not?

Customer Support : 10
Never talked to them but I just want to give praise to this company for manufacturing this product which has really made a difference in the shaping of my tone. Yes can you believe it, a nice long warranty, but not like I'm gonna need it. Ya never know though!!

Overall Rating : 10
What else is there left to say but this....

If you are serious about the soundscape shaping of your tone and want only the best, go try everything on the market then plug into the G-Flex and you'll see why I'm talking so much hype here. Guitarists who especially do the dropped D and lower tunings will especially appreciate this cabinet as will Jazz Masters alike and everyone in between.

It's funny how I used to asthetically had to have the 4/12's to kinda fit in and show I too owned the big stuff but after all these years I finally put in my head that it's just not about having the biggest physical pieces of gear but to aim for the best sounding and most versitile, and I am finally at that pinnacle in my life. Remember, you can have the most mammoth sized setup and best guitars but in this case size doesn't and shouldn't matter. Go for the best. Here it is, waiting for you!! Now just go for it!! Feel free to e-mail me with any questions you may have or if you want to express your appreciation for this product based on the review.

This George Lynch model G-Flex GB212 was born on or arrived on 6.24.02, it's the latest model delivered to me at the music shop by the owner himself, very cool guy, there made in Scottsdale, AZ where I live. They have now moved the inset handles from the sides like most cabs up to the top outer edges, great idea, why wrap your arms around the cab when you can carry it like a ice chest, nice new option and very easy to carry now. Has all the options a 2x12 could have but made better with imported wood, not the cheap partical board type stuff Marshall uses now.

Sound Quality : 10
Well as George himself put it - SMOKE THIS - and oh does it smoke, far better than any 2x12 and most 4x12, can't say I've compared it to them all but at least 30 different cabs. The ports really make the bass tight with no boomyness. I use a SongWorks - Little Lanilei 33 watt amp(see the reviews, amazing tiny tube amp) and play 2 guitars right now, the first is a Jimmy Vaughan Strat, the blues are sweet, my next axe is an original San Dimas Charvel Strat with dual Humbuckers that screams rock-n-roll through this cab. You just can't beat this, and for all you die hard 4x12 fans, just stack 2 of these and be prepared, killer.

Reliability : 10
Made like a rock, real wood, real metal, thiick rubber feet, it's solid.

Customer Support : 10
The Owner delivered mine to the shop I was at, great guy, told me all about the contruction and what went into making this amp, we even compared it to others. Great Company.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing 17 years, not as a pro but for fun with friends, etc. I own a Little Lanilei 33 watt amp and use it for the head, Fender Strat, San Dimas Charvel, Yamaha Acoustic, I've owned a ton of guitars and amps, always looking for that elusive sound. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Love everything about, compared to several others this just kicks ass, it needs nothing, killer cabinet.

2x12 ported cab, nice recessed steel handles, metal grill, speakers slightly angled out, black steel corners, stereo or mono. a little larger than most 2/12's. Built well.

Sound Quality : 10
I use this cab with 2 different setups. Both with a Gibson LP.
#1 Soldano ROS 2/10 (bluesy - Gary Moore,Allman Bros)
#2 Tubeworks 1160 (stereo) poweramp & GT-5 (running stereo) (rocky-Creed,Live ect.)
The sound this pumps out is nothing short of amazing. Much better than 90% of the 4/12 cabs I have had or tried. This cab is great for crystal clean and heavily distorted sound. Fills the room with great tone that is felt (I'm not just talking volume here). Great but not overpowering low, mid&high.

Reliability : 10
Built like a rock. It has some weight.

Customer Support : 10
I emailed once on a different issue & they replied next day.

I've been playing for 20 years, had a lot of gear. I am really, really impressed with the sound of this cab. The best cab I think I've ever had. I bought mine based partly on some of the reviews I've seen here. I would buy another but it seems like this one will last for a long time. The 2/12 I replaced with this one, was such a great cab I had it for 10 years and really didn't think I could find a better sounding one. Here it is. This is a great alternative to hauling around a 4/12 and getting a better sound. I play clubs in the 100 to 200 people range and this fits the bill.

Well, how many features can a 2X12 cabinet really have? Let's just say this has about them all. Stereo/Mono inputs and an output for an extension cab. Perhaps an ohm selection switch would be cool, but really not necessary for my set-up.

Sound Quality : 10
My primary set-up is a PRS Custom 24 with stock HFS and Vintage bass pu's straight into a Mesa Boogie DC-10 2X12 combo. For effects, I use a Dunlop Crybaby 535Q and for occasional "flavoring" of chorus, delay, etc., I use a Digitech RP100. This set-up alone was great, but it was lacking that little bit of extra "oomph" live that you get from a 4X12. Also, Mesa 2X12 cabs and combos jam those damn speakers so close together that, although the volume is there, you really aren't "pushing as much air" as you'd like. I decided to try this G-Flex out at a local used dealer and was blown away. I am so glad that I couldn't find a used Mesa 2X12 before I found this baby. Super tight low end, which I attribute to the 4 ports and closed back. Also, the slight outward angle of the speakers in the cab allows for much greater "air pushing". I can hear myself CLEARLY from anywhere on the stage. The combination of the 3/4 back 2X12 combo with this 2X12 closed back extension has me in complete "tonal bliss". Plenty of low end, but NOT MUDDY. Again the ports get this baby up enough to avoid muddy lows. Lastly, I was extremely pleasantly surprised w/ the quality of the stock speakers. i am a firm believer in celestions, but these sound just as good, if not better than the celestion black shadows in the Mesa.

Reliability : 9
Seems very sturdy. The metal grill is a plus for durability. I honestly can't see this thing having any reliability problems. Again, it's a 2X12 cabinet, so there's not much that can go wrong. (I am knockiong on wood as I type)

Customer Support : No Opinion
Bought it used - have no idea about the warranty or customer service.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for almost 15 years. I've gone from an old 120 watt Peavey Butcher with tons of stomp-box effects and a celestion loaded 4X12, to a Marshall JCM 900 with marshall 1960A 4X12 cabinet, to a Line 6 Flextone II XL 2X12, to finally my current set-up (100 watt Mesa DC-10 2X12 w/ the G-Flex 2X12 extension). For the first time in 15 years, I don't feel the need to try out other amps at guitar shops to look for perfection in tone. I think I've found my "Nirvana", and this Genz Benz 2X12 was the final piece of the puzzle. For the record, i think George Lynch is a great guitar player, but he is far from my "idol". I bought this product because it is absolutely perfect for my needs, not because Mr. Scary says so. I play straight-up hard rock - crossed between G n' R, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Metallica. Of course, the amp you are playing is the absolute most important part of your tone (even more so than your guitar and pu's), but I think this 2X12 is an excellent enhancement to any "rockers" set up. Check it out. And check out www.blownonline.com and be the first on your street to get the skinny on this up-and-coming band (that I happen to play guitar for).

I believe this cabinet was made in 2002. I find that this cab gives my Carvin Legacy head a heavier bottom end, due to the ported openings below the 2 speakers. I feel it allows for some serious chunky rythym playing and tight lead playing. There are enough options for different ohm settings in mono and stereo. The only thing people may want with this cab is wheel casters for easier mobility. I had no problem carrying this thing by its 2 handles. I wanted a 2x12 speaker cabinet for the ease of transporting. My 4x12 is too big for that. I personally love the heavy duty performance this cab gives.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a 1993 Gibson Les Paul Studio and an early 80's Fender Lead 3 with a Seymour Duncan, Screamin Demon pickup at the bridge. I'm definitely a George Lynch fan since the early 80"s, so I love to shred with the best of them. Yngwie Malmsteen, Vai, Michael Schenker, and Uli Jon Roth are other influences in my playing. The G-Flex can deliver this type of music. Simple as that.

Reliability : No Opinion
I can't say anything about reliability yet, because I just bought it. Genz Benz seems to be a high quality company though.

Customer Support : No Opinion
They have a website at least. I live in Arizona and Genz Benz is located in Scottsdale AZ., but they don't have a service center in Arizona. Go figure! Hopefully they will have an AZ. location in the near future. The warranty is 3 years. That's a decent length warranty. Most manufacturers will give you 1 year.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've been playing for close to 20 years. I currently own a Carvin Legacy Head, Marshall JTM 30 combo, original 60's blackface Fender Vibrolux, a Crate 4x12 w/Celestion G12t-75's, an original Echoplex, several Boss Stomp boxes, DOD Yngwie Malmsteen Signature pedal(Autographed) and a Marshall Powerbrake.

Big and heavy for a 212, but with good reason (see below). Solid construction, Flexed Baffle, Steel Grill, 2x12" Genz Benz Speakers, 4 circular tuned ports below the speakers, many input/output impedance mono/stero options on jack plate. 2 handy recessed side-handles (like on a 412) and 4 beefy rubber feet.

This thing can take the abuse of a Triple Rectifier opened nearly all the way up (see below for example). I own 2 of these cabinets, and the both of them hooked up to the Recto is absolutely HUGE sounding. The flexed baffle really spreads out the sound, so you have a much larger "sweet spot" than traditional 212/412 cabinets. Speakers are front-mounted too, which helps.

The key to the success of this cabinet is the tuned ports. Sealed cabinets by design are inefficient. Tight, but inefficient. The tuned ports provide a much more efficient design (more volume, while the amp isn't working as hard). Tune ports also provide more low end so you therefor get the fullness of a large 412 in a smaller 212 cabinet. Its still big for a 212, but not as big as a 412, and you get all of the volume and fullness. Brilliant design.

The cabinets are very versatile. Some might think they're geared towards heavy metal etc., but these cabinets can do anything a 412 can do. No, you wont get the open-back sound...but I don't like that thin-ish sound anyway. Plus, the ported design inherintly results in a "looser" feel than a sealed design, but thi cabinet seems to feel just right.

Sound Quality : 9
I use a PRS single cut (Stock PUs) and a Schecter 007 Elite (with upgraded Seymour Duncans) through some Carl Martin and Fulltone pedals into a Mesa/Boogie Triple Recitifier Head with more Fulltone pedals in the loop and a NanoVerb at the end. I run one cabinet for rehearsals and two for shows (one on each side of the kit). Here's what's funny...ONE CABINET WILL DROWN OUT MY DRUMMER, BASS PLAYER AND PRACTICE PA. TWO CABINETS PROVIDE THE MAIN SOURCE OF MY GUITAR IN THE FRONT END MIX LIVE. We mix a little into the PA to fill things out(via Palmer DI), but 90% of the front end guitar sound comes from 2 of these cabinets...and our PA is huge to begin with. Granted the Triple Recto is pumping 150 all tube watts to help my cause, but my point is that these cabinets handle whatever I can throw at them. I'm talking about a 7-string tuned down a half step (for vocal purposes) can't make these things fart out. We cover Static X, Rob Zombie, Godsmack, M.Manson and Disturbed among others, and this is the rig to do it. Awesome!

Only negetive is that I agree with another reviewer that the speakers are a little harsh...just like the 70 watt Celestions found in most quality 412 cabs. These speakers hold thier own, but I plan on trying out the Celestion Vintage 30s in these cabs. Should be very nice. Generally, tined ports are tuned with cabinet specs and speaker specs in mind, so I thought changing the speakers might be a bad thing. However, I found out that the original speakers are the same exact model and specs in the rest of Genz Benz's 412 ans 112 guitar cabs, so there should be no problem sapping them out.

Reliability : 8
My only complaint is that the rear jack plate is cheap-ish (plastic like a Marshall), and the construction doesn't project the feeling of bullet-proof-ness like a Mesa/Boogie cabinet does. However, it is well built and could no doubt withstand the rigors of the road.

Customer Support : 9
Before I purchased these cabs, I contacted GB via e-mail with questions about size and weight. They were very responsive, but the web site is WAY primitive and needs updating and enhancing.

Overall Rating : 10
Simply the best cabinet I have ever played through/heard/owned. Hands down. Does it all and begs for more.

Just bought this cabinet brand new 2.17.02. It has two 12" GBE 1240-V75 speakers made by GenzBenz. They have an imported cone from England with
1 3/4" voice coils. The cabinet has multiple ports and a flexed baffle. The porting produces great low end crunch and the flex reduces the boominess. Wired for mono or stereo operation. 150W RMS/4 ohms(mono), 75W per side, 8 ohms(stereo). 21"H x 30W x 14"D. Weights about 60lbs. Very versatile. Can produce the cleanest "cleans" to the heavies distortion. AWESOME!!

I have a few different guitars which include: ESP Lynch Custom Tiger w/Screamin' Demon PU's(Yes...I'm a big Lynch fan!) a Jackson USA Custom Ship strat with Duncan JB in the bridge and a Jackson single coil in the neck. I also use an older Charvel Fusion w/Jackson HUM's. My amp is a brand new Peavey Triple XXX. So far I'm not running any effects. But plan on buying a few here soon. The setup, at least for me, is absolutely awesome! Great clean sounds and great gain settings. Super low end. Nice and tight.

I bought this cabinet new. After using every cabinet on the market over many years, I came across Genz-Benz. I am so glad I did. This 2/12 cabinet blows everything else out there away. Its rated 180 watts, which can handle my Soldano 50+ XL with ease. I believe that this cabinet would make the crappiest of amps sound great.

Sound Quality : 10
I use 3 Warmoth parts guitars with Floyd Roses and on with a Wilkinson trem. All have SD JB humbuckers in the bridges, and a single coil in the neck, ala Lynch. The G-Flex is very versatile. The 4 ports at the bottom makes all the difference in the world. Talk about BOTTOM END. Man this cab has BALLS.

Hands down the greatest cabinet you can buy tonewise. I have a multi-preamp rack including a Ada Mp1 and a Mesa Boogie Triaxis running through a Rocktron Replifex and into a Mesa Simul-class 2:90. I will Never shop for gear again.
I listen to alot of super guitar music like George Lynch obviously, Paul Gilbert, Vai, Malmsteen and this cab nails the tone. It has clear definition of lower registers but doesnt get to shrilly on the high end. Low end for days. Hell if George Lynch uses it you know it must be good!!!
Has that hollow log vibe like the ultamite chug of L.A. super-tones.
