Built in 2005 under Genz Benz supervision.
Rated at 30 watts into 4 ohms, but the internal speaker is 8 ohms, so effectively 15 watts unless you connect an 8 ohm extension cabinet.
Two input channels, three input modes; clean, classic (overdrive) and modern (crunch). Both channels access three-band equalization and reverb.
CD input jack, headphone output jack, channel select jack.
10" internal speaker.
Classic-looking silver grille cloth.

Sound Quality : 8
I'm playing a stock '78 Telecaster and a '05 American Deluxe Strat through this amp. My styles range from country to blues to hard rock, and I mostly play rhythm with occasional arpeggios and lead breaks.
I rarely use effects other than distortion and reverb, so having these built-in to the amp keeps things easy. Somehow the Classic overdrive manages to sound suprisingly tubelike, and I really like the Clean channel, which delivers smooth natural overdrive when volume is set around the mid mark, which is about as loud as I'd be using the amp anyway. The Modern channel approximates a dual recto sound nicely, and sounds better than some of the Crunch pedals on the market.
The 10-inch speaker delivers a fuller range than a 8 or 6.5 inch ever could. The unsealed cabinet helps it sing.
The amp is quiet enough at the volumes I use it at, and of course it's a lot quieter when I'm playing my Strat with SCN noiseless pickups than when I'm playing the stock Tele.

Reliability : 10
Never had a single problem with it. Seems very well constructed, weighing in at 25 pounds. I could imagine using it without a backup for small venues since solid state does have a reliability edge over tubes.

Customer Support : 10
I contacted Genz Benz to get a user manual, and they were very prompt and helpful although this is a discontinued line. Made me likely to look into their current lineup.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for 35 years. My primary guitar amp is a silverface Fender Twin.
I needed an amp for writing sessions and small practices that could approximate the sound of my all-tube stage setup without the high volumes. I was skeptical that a solid-state amp would come close enough, but the TranzAmp does just that.
I got an incredible deal on this from a guitar teacher in the sticks, which made the fact that it works so well for my needs makes it all the sweeter. I might A/B a few more amps if it was stolen (I had checked out small Fender, Marshall, and Roland amps) but would not hesitate to buy another TranzAmp if I could find one. Too bad it was discontinued.
