I am from Spain, not many G.D. seen here!! (i didn??t know them before i buyed mine)
I have a G.D. The blue 100 w combo. 3 channels, 2x12" Celestion Speakers. Good spring reverb. 5 way footswitch. 5x12AX7 preamp tubes and 4xE34L power tubes by JJ Tesla.Hi and lo inputs. Beatiful blue colour and nice looking.

Independent volume and Eq for each channel. Gain control for crunch channel and Gain A and B for lead channel. There are some extra controls as dynamic presence and middle sweep(clean and lead) middle shift and boost (crunch) and contour (lead B)
Master volume, cut, reverb and hi/lo reverb switch.

direct output, bad effects loop, midi in and out

Lots of sound posibilities, british sound, high volume and gain. All features are good, usable and interesting except for the effects loop, which is noisy and has no level control. Delay is the only effect i can use through it without noise.

Sound Quality : 9
i Love how it souds!! It has a British type sound, clear ,bright, with a strong warm distorsion full of mids and with low noise. It doesn??t produce de deepest bass or the fattest tone, it??s not a Mesa Boggie, but maybe you won??t get this beautifull mid-bright crunch sound with a Mesa (and it cost more than twice the price of the GD).
Better than the modern Marshalls i have tried!

I play Rock (from Pink Floyd to AC/DC)with some friends and Metal, mainly Heavy Metal and Thrash, with a band. I use a Gibson SG Special and a Dean Vendetta 4 FR. I also use some effects like delay, chorus, etc, but normally don??t use overdrives...i like the amp??s distorsion.

Clean breaks a little at high volumes, i??m thinking of changing the 12AX7 for a 12AY7 wich sounds clearer.Appaert from that, sounds great, with many EQ options, easy to get different sounds
Crunch channel is good, versatile. Maybe a bit thin (compared with the Lead) but with a lot of good blues/rock sounds anyway
Lead is Great, perfect for Hard rock, heavy metal, thrash. Lead A is fat and strong, with lots of a warm angry gain.Lead B goes even further, with sharper mids and high end.

Really powerfull amp, it produces high volume, high gain and low noise for a not high price, and that??s important for me!!

Reliability : 9
i have owned it for three years. A few gigs, lots of rehearsals and some trips to my house, to the studio and back to the rehearsal room.
Never had a problem. I just had to change o power tube.I changed two (jj) for new Svetlanas and it sounded even better.

It start producing a really low humm when is engaged a few months ago.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
i have been playing for twelve years and i used Engl, Fender and Koch
tube amps appart from some H&K and Marshall solid state amps.
If it were stolen i would buy another one for the same price.

I love the tone and distorsion it produces, specially the lead channel.

I have tried better amps like Mesa Boogie or old Fender twin reverb (for clean sound) but none so versatile and with so nice and strong tone for this price!!
Almost perfect for me.

It woul be perfect with a good effects loop,12AY7 tube for the clean channel and better tubes (jj??s are not bad at all, but i prefer others)

I was Searching for a half Stack for the longest time...i tried everything i could, at all the local music stores... pawn shops... friends amps... and nothing caught my attention till i played this amp. I bought "The Blue" 100 watt tube head WITH the matching Cab for 1300 (new in Canadian funds it would be over 3000) and seriously this Amp is amazing. I have always loved Very many different types of music and love playing them... and this amp can really do it all... honest. The Reverb is also superb on this amp... why i give it a 9 instead of a ten is because George Dennis Produces many effects pedal, a few effects on this thing would truly make it the perfect amp.

Sound Quality : 10
AMAZING the sound is simply amazing. like stated before i have tried alot of amps before buying this, and this amp hands down owns. everything sounds so clean and crisp. i am trying to not sound like such a promoter for "The Blue" but i can't help it when it comes to sound quality. the only Flaw i can even think of is that at low volumes its sounds great but the louder you go, the better. so you cant get the full potential of this amp at low volumes. i dont think that is worth taking off a point though...other than that, cuts through everything beautifully....amazing

Reliability : 10
havent had it for tooo long but i bought it Used the guy owned it for awhile and said he never had a problem....ever so based on that, and the fact of that thing was built for Atomic warfare (its heavy... very very heavy) 10

no real opinion on this company and their support... i did however send them an email and they got back to me within 12 hours. so i imagen if i had a problem they would be right there

I have been playing long enough to know what is junk and what is worth buying and The Blue defenatly is worth buying. If this thing was stolen i wouldnt buy it again because honestly 3000 bucks for it brand new is hard on the wallet but if i had the money, i wouldnt even think about it and i would buy it right away. I love everything about this amp, even the Colour is really sharp the only flaw i can think of is the effects.. if it had some effects... the perfect amp, if you are not into effects like iam this amp is a perfect 10! but iam soo its a 9 (if their was a 9 and a half or 9 and three quaters, i would pick those because its more fitting) if you have the money or see someone selling a used one... trying it... just try it and you will understand why some people call George Dennis Europes best kept secret.

Features : 10
This is a second reveiw of the 100 Watt Blue that is above under Tim Wagoner. That address is no longer valid.

Now it's 2005 and I've had one of the best amp techs I've had the pleasure to meet look over this amp, Nick Conta of Techtronix, Hubbard, Ohio. My general complaint was that the amp had no real BALLS. Thin and lacking punch. Wasn't too loud either. His diagnosis found that the 4 ohm and 8 ohm taps of the output xmer were swapped. That would have cuased all the previous problems and explains why the former tech had problems dialling in the bias.

He fixed this, replaced every tube in it, four Svetlana "flying Cs" in the power section, Ruby 12ax7's in the preamp section with a Groove Tube Gold Select in the first stage.

This amp is now in my opinion the most versitile and incrediable amps available!!! Yes, the tubes helped out but the correction of the xmer has completely reborn this amp!!!

I won't go into features other than to say the clean channel is Fender heaven, the Crunch is 80's Marshall, and the two lead channels are almost TOO MUCH Gain!!!

The key to this amp is cranking the MASTER volume and then setting the individual channels. Two downsides are that if it says volume or gain, it needs to be above 5 to get sweet and that being 100 watts, it's LOUD!!! Too LOUD!!!

It delivers everything that the George Dennis website proclaims. Too bad it took a master technician to make it do it!!!

The only down side, and most amp manufacturers are guilty of this so I don't deduct any points, is that the Effect Loop is total shit!! It has no output buffer and the return is opamp buffered which totally robs the tube tone this amp has. Don't use it, won't use it, and shouldn't be there.

Sound Quality : 10
If you use the low input the amp is actually more useful and not quite so LOUD. The Clean works well for any low gain application and will even do all the Clapton, SRV, and Hendrix you want. The Crunch turns more into a rock sound rather than 80's metal. The lead channels are great for any type of lead from country to shred. They become less dirty and more musical.

If you use the High input then the amp is all Hot Rod. The amp will have a sound in the 5150 range across the board. Not so much Boogie but getting there.

I would not use this amp for nu-metal. Besides those are generally solid state anyhow.

It should be noted that the amp uses a solid state rectifier and therefore doesn't have the sag of a tube rectifier. It's nice and tight. Effect Loop sucks tone completely, garbage.

Reliability : 8
It's been about four months since Nick did the work. It's been no problem. He said in his opinion it should last as long as any other high end amp would be expected to.

Customer Support : 2
I'm not going to beat up George Burgenstien this time around, TOO MUCH!! George you should have supported this unit from the start and you simply didn't. I thank you for the schematic but not taking responsibility for your product fresh out of the box is just wrong.

To my knowledge they still have no U.S. service center and they're having trouble getting into the U.S. market.

When I purchased this 1/2 stack I had hoped for a great product and great people behind it. What I found was an improperly built unit that the manufacturer wanted nothing to do with.

Overall Rating : 5
I've been playing for 30 years, college degree to boot. I have too much gear. Generally I play Ibanez guitars of varying models. If stolen I would not buy another George Dennis product!!!!
The amp sounds great cranked, good turned down, Effect Loop is garbage.
The unit sounds really good at low volume with some fiddling. To compare it to other brands is difficult. It's built well as other high end amp. It delivers great sounds but it is it's own thing. I wuold love it more if it was MIDI controlable and the effect loop was tube buffered both in and out.

How do I rate this overall? The amp is no longer what George Dennis manufactured since having two corrective surgeries done on it. I'd like to rate MY AMP high but the product line is lacking.

If George Dennis can get his U.S. shit together it may come about but this needs to happen first.

Features : 7
This is a restatement of my first review of the Dennis Blue head. I now know that my amp was made in '99. This from George himself. Please read my earlier review of this product for features. I have found over time that the amp is less versatile in that yes it has Marshall Crunch from hell but this can't be dialled down to a smooth overdrive without comprimising the tone. Otherwise this amp is a monster

Sound Quality : 9
See previous review, I've learned to use the Crunch for strictly that, sounds like 80's metal. Use the lead one for SRV/ Clapton stuff and rely on the volume knob of the guitar, the sound is true to the style. Use the lead two for solos over the crunch channel. When WORKING the amp delivers

Reliability : 2
Here is where the Dennis lacks, My amp although a '99 had never been out of the box, NOS. After a month the tone fell off, after four months the amp began motorboating. Turned out the head had EH El34 tubes in it, advertised JJ/Telsa E34L. But the killer was that the BIAS was set below operating range for the tubes, tech said all the way down on the trim pot. This tells me someone in production spaced the bias adjustment and thus cost me four power tubes and a service call. George himself did in all fairness send me several emails with advice and eventually a schematic, thanks. But he stated clearly that an amp that old was not covered under his warranty even if the box had never been opened. I'm actually quit upset about this as i feel that he doesn't believe me or that he doesn't give a shit, sorry. George if you want to make it in this day and compete with the bog three you're going to have to provide better services then ALL you competitors. Also, the tech felt that the amp appeared built well and enjoyed the different voicing it provided. He doesn't seem to think that the amp will give me any more trouble.

Customer Support : 1
read reliablity and it says it all. If George can fix it without cost to him he'll help you. I have twenty or so emails back and forth between him and I but ultimately I had to pay to get the amp repaired and it was only four months old. This is complete crap. I am very upset with the ultimate treatment I've received from George and his distribtor, oddly named Dennis.

Overall Rating : 2
I'll make this short and sweet, I'm debating selling off the half stack that cost me over a grand total as I'm not happy with the treatment I've received from this company.

I WILL NOT BUY ANY MORE OF THEIR PRODUCTS FOR ANY REASON ANS DO NOT RECOMMEND THEIR PRODUCTS TO ANYONE SOULLY BECAUSE OF THE ATTITUDE THAT THIS WASN"T THEIR PROBLEM WHEN THEY BUILT IT WRONG.

Features : 9
I only recently received my amp but I can't over hype this amp. Okay, here goes. It is a four channel all tube amplifier Rated at 100 Watts. It comes with a five button switch with a very long simple stereo connecting cable that does unplug from amp and pedal, great feature for hauling and repairing. The amps four channels easily cover everything a Marshall will do, no tube rectifacation, not Boogie sound. Clean channel, unlike Marshall, has gradual dirt with gain. I run it on six and get everything SRV is known for rythym wise. The Crunch sounds basically like a TSL. THe two lead channels are actually identical but one has a contour switch. Okay, you may wonder why the same. If you play a variety like me then set one to around 6 and the other to say 10 and now you can do solos in for AC/DC on one and Metallica on the other. I wish it had an effect loop switch instead of reverb but I can live that. You will be able to find any Brittish sound you've ever heard from this amp, end of discussion. Did I say it's BLUE. Blue vinyl covering with some kind of cloth covering the front vents. Awesome appearance.

Sound Quality : 10
I've already said the amp will do any Brittish tone imaginable. I think the most important thing about this amp is that unlike most of it's contemporaries, it begs you to over drive the POWER AMP! None of this wanna be preamp overdrive. Go for the full Hendrix sound. It is very controlable with the array of volume knobs, each channel has a post volume except the Clean, and then there is still a Master volume. When I first got it I followed the manuals recommendations and found that with the Master on 8 the amp sings, it also will blow you out of the room! Luckily they designed the amp to compensate this so you can play with it and get the same sound at lower volumes.

Reliability : 9
I've only had the amp for a couple of weeks, so far, so good. I've had other G.D. products and they were very reliable. George Bergerstein is easy to get ahold of and wants his products to be trouble free.

Customer Support : 10
George Bergerstein is always answering my e-mails usually within the same day. Great people.

Overall Rating : 10
If you love the brittish sound the forget the Marshalls of today and get one of these Monsters. I will definately stick with George as long as his products and service stay above the mark of his competitors. You can't go wrong with his products. Think this way, a Marshall TSL new is around $2000+ without cabs. This big bruiser with two 412 cabs loaded with Celestions can be had for that and theres no comparison once all the features of costomer service, sound and appearance. Other guitar players come up to me everytime I play and want to know what is that Giant BLUE ear splitter is.

THis amp is got some cool controlls. It has a clean channel but more of a gritty channel. It has the crunch channel from hell. No one has this crunch. Then it has a lead channel with a lot of gain but it has two volumes and two gains so its like a 4 channel amp. It has a loop, and a high low switch for power, and it has a coll verb with dark setting , and a bright setting but one knob for all channels. It also has the master volume , and a cut button that is cool for cutting out high end off the top with out the treble being touched. ALso the cut is like a anti presence knob. Very cool for tonal controll. There is a bunch of little mid switch knobs on the amp, and a boost in the cruch channel. I give it a nine since I want things that dont even exist on amps but that's a crazy musician for you. It is loaded with knobs that acually do something.

Sound Quality : 10
The sound? A ten hands down. Its hot! This thing is loaded with e34l's. I dont know the difference between that and an el 34 but they have the tone basically.

THe clean channel. If you crank this the amp will overdrive. I like that but I use it at 2-3 with the master on 7-8 , and the amps clean channel sings but if I strike it hard it has a lot of dyamanics. Not your JC-120 sound. ITs alive!

The crunch channel. THis is the true speacial heart of the amp. WHat can I say it crunches better than any old marsahll I ever had or heard. It is again so dyanmic it kills me. I cant believe it!

THe lead channels - share the same eq but different gains, and is cool because lets say you have a great high gain rhythm sound other than the crunch channel, you can set the other gain, and volume for more for a boost as a solo, and have great sustain. It's hard to beat!

The verb I only use on the clean and it is sweet.

THIS AMP IS WARM WARM WARM, AND BITES AT THE SAME TIME. A GEM! They arent really big in america but I hope to make them bigger here.

Reliability : No Opinion
I dont know yet

Customer Support : 10
Great, and they are in the other part of the world. Go to the reviews, and click on thier web to check out stuff!

Overall Rating : 10
Nothing left to say but play. It is one of the greatest tone amps ever made, and not that expensive consdiering all the other amps out there in the upper range. I think they sell for around a grand or a little more but I rather have 2 -3 of these than a soldano

I'm posting this on behalf of our rhythm player who uses a 70s strat for chunky sounds in our rock'n'roll band.

It's a heavy 4 channel tube amp, bought late 2000. 2 x EL34 output tubes, Celestion speaker, cool blue looks, footswitch provided with one button per channel, and a reverb footswitch. Effects send & return, DI out - all good stuff.

It has just enough power for live stage use with a fairly hard-hitting drummer (he usually runs it maxed out).

Sound Quality : 8
Clean sounds are bright and clean like you'd expect, but it's still clean at max volume with the strat - I would have liked a bit more gain to be able to push this channel to its max. The next channel has the best in-between sounds (between clean and overdrive) - very nice. The high gain channels give similar hot distortion sounds. They sound thin to me, but I think that's more to do with the guitar than the amp.

Reliability : 5
Here's the problem. Blew a fuse on day 1, but that was easy fixed. After 5 months, he's lost a power tube and a preamp tube. They're only guaranteed for 3 months, so he's had to pay for the replacements. I guess manufacturers of tube amps can't take on tube unreliability issues. And the reverb doesn't work anymore. Maybe that's a tube problem too. Also, the footswitch locked up once, and showed the wrong channel another time. Overall, it's starting to look a bit questionable.

Customer Support : 7
It's being sent back to get the reverb fixed. No dice getting the tubes replaced.

Overall Rating : 6
Our rhythm player bought this to get a gutsy amp with flexibility and a good tube sound. This amp delivers on those scores. The only concern is with long term reliability.

I bought The Blue because I needed a versatile amplifier for playing music between funky and hardcore. I don't like any effects except Wah. The Blue is four channel with reverb so I can set all sounds I need. It's 100W amp but It's the loudiest one I've ever heard.

Sound Quality : 9
The lead A and B channels gives You sounds with high distortion (but it's possible to set it from almost clean sound). In case You're playing the bridge pickup the sound is nice solid, from the neck pickup is honney. They both follow Your hands and go to feedback on any levels very easy. The Crunch channel is the typical hard rock channel with simple corrections. With just two switches and two buttons You can set sounds in a very large spectrum (including sounds as JCM2550 Silver series which I was using before). The clean channel is brilliant. Using single pickups is crystallinity.

Reliability : 10
I have had this amp just a short time, so I don't know. But the case is made from good plywood and the chassis from thick-walled metal. Also the enclosure is a little bit heavier. I think good materials, very creditable.

Customer Support : 10
I'm using the George Dennis wah-wah and also my friends are using some GD effects and other equipment. The customer support has always been very good.

Overall Rating : 9
TB100 is a very good amplifier with many options of sound settings. It gives You an excelent distortion on crunch and lead channels and unbelievably clean channel (with using strong reverb like real crystal palace). It's heavy - not for rickety guitar players, but every kilo is worth it.

The box I use most of the time is Marshall 1960A. I've tried a whole lot of amps - you know how it is - the sound has got to hit you. This one has done it ! I usually use two guitars: Gibson LP and a Fender Tele. Each one of the four channels sounds great and different from each other. The clean one rings beautifully, reminds me of the sound Matchless delivers. The Crunch channel definitely gets crunchy, thank God ! As for the distortion level, I got low distortion for a bluesy rhythm whereas for rock rhythm stabs and solos I just hike the distortion way up. The Lead channels are just outstanding. Lead A sounds slightly darker as opposed to the Lead B which delivers that aggressive rock feel. Each channel has its own volume and gain. Together with the master volume this presents a real advantage. I flipped when I started messing with the CUT in the master section. You get the brilliance as well as that beautiful round sound. It's great !

Reliability : 10
I have purchased this amp only three weeks ago but I'm really inclined to give this one a 10 rating. It is hand assembled, encased in a solid quality box. Accutronic reverb..... beautiful blue LED for the Clean channel. Seems I have purchased two amps in one.

Customer Support : 10
I have discovered George Dennis just recently and it seems that these guy's way of gaining reputation is through delivering quality.

Overall Rating : 10
I'm satisfied that by purchasing The Blue I have spent my money on quality. Congratulations to you guys for developing and introducing this amp on the market. When played through this amp the guitar sounds outstanding and will cut trough in a band situation. I feel that my playing has gained a whole dimension.
