I have owned mine since 1971 which I bought new, as for the wattage it is 180, when plugged into the sister jack it becomes 500. I have run huge sun cabinet perfectly on the sister jack.

Jenson speaker does not hold up well, many people think it is the tubes but if you run it past 8 on volume the speaker will punish you for it in time,

I believe this amp was made in 1968. I'm still trying to figure this out. The sounds that come out of this baby are more than perfect for surf, rock'n'roll, and anything that wants to sound like it was recorded in the 50's. The tremolo is amazing, reverb is beyond amazing, and it's original tubes are hotter than a tijuana crack whore on a saturday night (I'm getting out of hand now)

I use a piece of shit mexican Fender Strat painted sparkly gold and the sound matches the colour of my guitar. It makes an amazing crash sound for the end of a surf song thanks to the reverb tank

Just don't carry this baby by the handle. Be sure to cradle it with both arms like a 2-4 of beer!

Gibson - the company - well lets just say I asked them information on this amplifier and they didn't know what I was talking about. The serial number doesn't even match their lists! Some hippie guy from Gibson must have built this amp and forgot to keep evidence of its existance.

I've been playing for 16 years mainly with Fender gear. The infamous bandmaster and bassman are loyal friends but the Gibson is a mysterios jewel. Legend has it that Neil Young owned this Duo-Medalist at one time. There is a broken wood member that supports the almighty Jensen 12" speaker and apparently Neil kicked the shit out of this amp.

I don't know what year(s) they made these things, which is why I came to this site. I bought mine about a year ago. it is an all tube amp, 2-channels, reverb/tremelo, output is about 30 watts into an open jensen speaker. I replaced the original speaker with another ceramic jensen rated at 80 watts. This is one of the best sounding, most versitile amps i've ever heard.

Ive been using mine turned all the way up (which I believe is 12). I usually run both channels in series with treble on 12 and bass on 3-6 depending on the room. The guitar i've matched with it is a Gibson SG with p-90's. beautifull warm tone which breaks up quite nice. exactlly what one expects from a tube amp. The wattage is perfect. good volume/distortion level for a small to medium sized room. Anything bigger and it'll be miked anyway. I play in a psychpunk band which also does some quiet ambient stuff too. For the big super-noisy parts I use a big muff, for everything else It's perfect
The reverb can reach totally washed out levels and the tremelo can go from very subtle to siezure producing N2O strobe pulse.
The only thing I might change would be to enclose the speaker, and I emphasize the might. It does have an extension cab. jack which if used might tighten up the signal, but I'm scared to use it.

After some initial adjustments which caused a bit of worry I your with this amp on a regular basis. The original speaker is underpowered for rock and roll. It is also hardwired into amp proper. I recommend the same model rated for higher wattage to preserve the voice of the amp.
The tubes (sorry-can't remember what they are exactly) I hear are hard to find but are in production again by our friends at sovtec. I had a little trouble once with the reverb but it must not have been that big of a deal 'cause i can't recall what it was exactly.

It is almost impossible to find out anything from anyone about this amp. Fortunately I know an amp tech of no small talent.

I wish I could find another one in the unhappy event that this one dies or gets stolen. I would also like to play two in series (stereo duo-medalist! yes. This MUST come to pass. I've played peavy, fender, marshall, mesa and carvin and I can't see myself touring with anything else. It has beautiful tone, rich tube ditortion and can be carried in one hand.

Don't know what year it was made in. I've had it for more than 28 years. Don't know the wattage either. It has 1-12" speaker, two channels, normal and reverb/tremolo. Its all tube.

I dug it out of the basement recently and plugged it in. It sounds
pretty pathetic. Does anybody out there have any information on this
amp. I remember it sounding alot better than it now sounds. I'm not
into tube amps so I wouldn't even now where to start on it. New tubes?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
