1970's Gibson solid state single channel 20 watt guitar amp. Hi/Lo Inputs, Volume/On, Bass/Treble eq, and Tremolo with intesity and speed controls. 8" Gibson Speaker. Simple amp that has a great tube like sound in my opinion. Loud for its size. Great for many styles. I play classic rock to punk-and really satisfies my tastes.

Sound Quality : 9
I play a tele through her, she stays resonable quiet. It was alot of control with the bass/treble/tremolo controls, so you can find something that works with almost any guitar/pick-ups. I set a Boss Overdrive or a RAT dist. box when the mood strikes me, but for the most part just clean (which is very warm and full).

Reliability : 10
She seems extremely dependable, it was passed down from my old man to me, and she is still rockin. I use this in studio situations as well as small venues when she can be mic-ed. Solid state, so no tubes to go bad, I am sure some day the speaker will go, but no problems as of yet...I usually play her around 6-8 level.

Ummmm, due to its age I have found very little info on the amp. This is by no means a "sought after" amp, but all the same, I prefer it to many small tube amps I have and have had. Currently, I use a Fender Bassman, or this Gibson. I am sure Gibson would be of some help, if you were persistant.

Overall Rating : 9
Well as stated, I really like the amp, and the fact that it could be replaced at the $100.00 and under range, is nice to know. If you have a chance to play though one of these-go for it! It would definately be a better amp compared to what else is out there in the price/watt range.

1960s 20 watt single-channel combo with tremelo. 8-inch Gibson Ultrasonic speaker, semi-closed back. All controls are on the front panel: Lo and Hi inputs, Volume/Power, Treble, Bass, Speed, Intensity, footswitch socket, red pilot light.

Sound Quality : 8
Clean, squeaky clean and loud, with surprisingly good headroom and minimal nasty clipping when everything is dimed. The tone controls have mucho effect on the sound. Excellent for jazzy and clean tones, great for amplified acoustics, but put a stomp box or two in front of it and it comes into its own. Reproduces effects with headphone-like clarity, not muddying the signal. Tremelo works fine, with authentic '60s vibe. Pretty versatile, considering how plain vanilla boring it is.

Reliability : 10
This thing was built to last, like a cockroach. It has already survived longer than many rock stars, and still kicks solid-state butt. I think that says it all.

Customer Support : 2
Gibson has no support for these old amps whatsoever, as far as I can tell. You might get lucky e-mailing them and finding a sympathetic tech.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing 35 years. (Hey, I started young.) As a consequence, I have accumulated far too much gear of far too many kinds. If it was stolen, I doubt I could find another one. It's cheap, unpretentious, and it gets the job done in the studio or a small room. Ya gotta love that.

Old Gibson practice amp. 20 watts. One 8" speaker & 100% solid state. Have Lo and Hi inputs, Volume, Treble, Bass, Speed and Intensity. Also has foot switch jack for Tremolo.

Sound Quality : 8
Playing a 2000 Fender American Strat into a Danelectro Pastrami Overdrive. I play mostly Classic Rock and the amp is very clean and quiet without the overdrive. With the overdrive I can get a very good Stones sound or drive it into Robin Trower with a Danelectro Milkshake Chorus added to the overdrive. It reproduces anything your pedals cans dream up.

Reliability : 9
This thing is at least from the '70s and takes a beating and keeps on rocking.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Hey why bother Gibson?

Overall Rating : 8
I am a weekend guitar player and this thing is great for jammin? in the basement. It is well made and should last until I drop it. I?ll probably buy a tube amp or something else but will keep this around as a spare.
