Gibson GA-5 Goldtone Les Paul Junior Combo

hand built 12-10-03 by I think mojo tone in n.c. for gibson, I know they are building the ga-15's now. one volume and that's it through a special design 8" speaker probably a celestion 1- 12ax7/1-el84 solid state rectifier and universal transformer. it has a creme colored tolex and gold gibson logo and leather handle. Very small and surprising loud for its size(loudest 5 watts I've heard) simple and straight forward just like I like it!!!

I use a peavey wolfgang arched flame top with emgs (81&85) and the sound it puts out is like the freaking holy grail to me. From clean, (2 to 3 volume setting) to peggged at 10 it fits my needs just right. the distorted tones are not what you'd expect from an el-84 (at least the ones I've owned in the past and have grown to dislike usually) it's very quiet at idle and will hold a note forever virtually.

ya know I've had fender tube amps and peavey tube amps and marshall tube amps and off brand tube amps and don't know if I'll ever get over this sickness I have for these things but I have never taken the time to do any type of review for any amp I have acquired except this one! when I heard it the first time in the store "I bout crapped in my britches" and when I plugged my guitar into it just sang to my heart, no bull! I've never been this excited over anything else musically in my 27 years of playing. The only drawback is the price you'll have to pay to get one, let's face it your paying for the name. my amp savy friend said "hell you can get a real one (meaning vintage)for three hundred bucks on ebay" and I said I don't give a damn I wanted this thing and was gonna have it come hell or high water. I guess you could say that I like it,,I like it alot! if it were ever stolen I wouldn't hesitate a second to buy another!!!
