What features? It has a volume knob and 2 inputs. That's it, but that's common with low wattage amps in this class. Six watts into an 8" speaker. Handwired point to point. Use your guitar knobs to adjust your tone.

Sound Quality : 5
Based on the reviews I read here and in other forums, I was expecting a magical tone monster. I was disappointed. My strat and PRS Custom 22 sounded just okay. The amp breaks up early at around 11:00, although it has a "small box" resonance. Acceptible in an inexpensive amp, but not for this one at $700. Worse yet, nothing I could do with my vintage '69 Les Paul made the amp sound good. Pretty surprising for an amp that bears the Les Paul name. With the neck pickup it sounded like someone had shoved a sock in the speaker, muffling all tone. The sound was like it was coming from a cardboard enclosure. No low end at all. Same thing with my Ibanez archtop jazzbox which also has humbuckers. On the plus side, it wasn't noisy...very little hum or hiss.

Reliability : No Opinion
Didn't keep it long enough to find out. I gave it a few days to see if I could learn to like it, but finally gave up and returned it.

Again, didn't keep it long enough to find out.

Way overpriced for an amp with this sound. The point to point hand wiring is nice, but is overkill on a 6W amp and adds substantially to the cost. This amp like all others has to obey the laws of physics. You simply can't get big amp tone from a small box and an 8" speaker. I may check out an Epiphone Valve Junior head and try running it through a 12" enclosure.

2004 gibson les paul jr. 1X8 combo,5 watts, on/off switch , volume, 2 tubes 1 el84, 1 12ax7, 2 inputs

Sound Quality : 10
fender stat hum-sing-sing, tele stock, g&l asast
blues and rock
amp is quiet, it is quite loud for 5 watts, was able to rehearse with it,although it farts out a little pushed.probably cause of the 8inch speaker, but the speaker sounds great at volumes under 2 oclock, sounds much bigger than a 1x8 combo. geat cleans when you back off the volume knob, nice breakup above 12 oclock, with an analog man sd- 1 in front you are in blues heaven.amp sounds best with neck p-up single coil. bridge alone hum or single are too harsh.

Reliability : No Opinion
too new to tell , appears built well

Customer Support : No Opinion
don't know

benn playing for 25 years, amp is killer for blues and or country, not a rock amp, would be nice if it had a speaker jack so you could run a diiferent setup. a little pricey but well worth it

I picked up this beauty in a local antique shop for about $215. Perfect condition, the linen/tweed covering is entirely intact and the grill cloth is absolutely perfect! The age of this amp has been narrowed down to the 1954-1956 era. Basically Gibson's answer to the Fender Champ amp of the same era. Reading the literature available on the internet, it seems that the circuits are nearly identical. This amp has two inputs, one volume control, no tone control, an on/off toggle switch, and a 6-8 inch oval speaker. For simplicity, and the heart pounding tone it puts out with a set of good humbuckers, I give it a ten.

Sound Quality : 10
With my 1982 Yamaha SG 3000S it roars in the humbucker mode. In the coil tap/split mode, it loses much of the drive, but the tone is still rich. With my 1999 American Deluxe Stratocaster's "vintage noiseless" pickups, it sounds a bit subdued, although it could be because those p'ups aren't really single coils... If you know these pickups, you know what I mean. On my friend's Ameican Standard strat, it sounded pretty clear, but clearly the winner here is the humbucker pickups...no comparison. Didn't need any kind of distortion box... I'll try a pedal with the strat and see how that sounds.

Reliability : 10
For as old as it is, and as simple as it is, I give it a 10 for what it does. It is light as a feather (much more easy to carry than my old 1979 Deluxe Reverb). I won't "gig" with it becuse it's just too precious, but from now on when going to a friends house, etc...it'll be the amp of choice. I'm sure it'll need new tubes someday, but for now the originals will do! :>)

Gibson answered my e-mail within 24 hours! How's that for service? Especially for a product they mde nearly 50 years ago!

I've been playing over 25 years now, current arsenal: 1999 Crimson red American Deluxe Stratocaster; 1982 wine red Yamaha SG 3000S; 1979 Electra Avenger (stratocaster copy I put Texas Specials pickups in); 1970-something Ibanez Musician bass; 1980 Alvarez acoustic; a '70's Pignose; 1979 Fender Silverface Deluxe Reverb; and a Zoom GFX-8 pedal board.
