I'm into playing surf music, and something every surf musician requires; is the outboard reverb tank. I began with a Danelectro Spring King reverb pedal. In my opinion, it just didn't cut it for the surf sound I was looking for. After deciding I needed an outboard tank, I did some research, and decided to go with the G-Spring over the Reissue Fender unit, because of reported reliability issues of the latter. It's like buying a brand new Fender unit from the early sixties for only a little more than you could get a new Reissue unit. The G-Spring has three knobs: Dwell, Mix, and Tone. It uses an Accutronics 2 spring pan.

Sound Quality : 10
I play through the G-Spring with my '91 Strat with three single coil pickups (i like using all of the pickup selections). I also use my '63 Danelectro reissue with two single coil lipstick tubes (both pickups on). The G-Spring is the perfect match for anyone looking to produce surf-worthy reverb-soaked sounds from their amp. I haven't had any humming issues at all. Sounds great clean or slightly driven. I like to set all three knobs around the mid-point or slightly higher. Can range from mild reverb accents to a deep, spacey sound, depending on where you set the dials.

Reliability : 10
I haven't had the G-Spring long enough to run into any problems yet, but if the solid construction, and Dario's customer service are any example, I'd say it's pretty reliable. Comes with a 5-year warranty.

Customer Support : 10
Dario's customer service really shines. More so than any other company I have ever dealt with. Very fast and friendly email responses, and will do most anything to help you get what you want from his products. He will give honest opinions regarding customer questions.(i.e. Which amp/speaker configuration should I go with for an outdoor gig?) 5 year warranty on all Gomez products. Best customer service ever.

Overall Rating : 10
I would definitely replace my G-Spring if it was lost or stolen. For surf players, the tank is half the sound! Again, I picked this over the RI Fender unit because it was only a little more, had great reviews by fellow surf musicians, and doesn't have any of the reliability issues the RI Fender does. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a heavy-reverb sound.

I'm really into surf music and decided it was time to get an outboard reverb tank. The onboard reverb on my Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue just wasn't deep enough. So what to do? Get a Fender vintage unit? I'd like to do that but was worried about reliability. Get a Fender reissue? That's a good choice, until I read that you had to do some more mods to it and sink some more money in it to get it to sound its best. Enter Gomez amps, they have a unit based on the vintage Fender but built with the best components, brand new, etc. The features are the same the as a vintage Fender, that is three knobs, dwell, mix, & tone. Not sure what else you'd want.

I bought mine with blond tolex / oxblood grill, really like that look.

Sound Quality : 10
It gives you what you want, a wide range of reverb all the way to a surfy drip. With the knobs at higher settings, you get lots of pop with your pick attack, turn things down for a bit of a slapback effect or some country twang. A lot of other styles of music also use varying degrees of reverb and this unit delivers the goods. I really don't think it could sound any better.

Reliability : 10
I've owned it for six months now, no problems. Hand-built using top notch components, I expect it to be very reliable.

Customer Support : 10
Gomez amps always responds to me e-mails within 24 hours. Usually on the same day. Five-year warranty. Even diagnosed and advised me on a problem I was having with my Fender amp while I was purchasing the reverb from him.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for twenty years. Just play for my own pleasure, but trying to get that tone that I want. I was using this unit into a Fender Deluxe Reverb RI, but just bought a Gomez G reverb amp so I don't expect the Fender will see much use now. I'm happy with the G-spring, it's what I wanted, vintage sound quality with modern reliability.

First off, I got this with rough Blonde and wheat to match my Gomez El Sonido. This was made buy hand in the USA June/July of 2008. As always, the cabinet work and tolex was perfect, weight is awesomely light for easy transport. Simple Reverb tank with "Dwell, Mix, & Tone."
Comeswith a footswitch and he puta Cover in and safely shipped from California to Pittsburgh, PA with a bulletproof 3"thick styrofoam package and the tubes seperately. Like my El Sonido experience,,,,, simply the best. I will own no other brand of amps aver again as I am fully on board with Gomez Amps.

Sound Quality : 10
First off, I Play several Setzer Gretsch guitars, A 62 Reissue Jaguar, Fender Custom Shop Nocaster, and A Hallmark Sweptwing. All for Twang.
The "G" is the Ultra Drippiest tank and is the best tone. I bought this as a second unit to have for a "backup" for a Victoria Reverberato, and hands down the Gomez just blew it away. It also was about 1/3 the size and weight.

Not noisy at all, and really can go from slight adding a depth to your tone to ultra Soundchamber head shaking 'verb. Super easy and ultra cool.

Reliability : 10
I can depend on anything made by them. So a Double yes. I sold the Reverberato and now want a second "G" they are that good. Totally solid and so is Dario, who stands by his gear. Warranty and all he is topshelf!!

Customer Support : 10
I've spent alot of time on the phone with Dario talking about gear and what he is doing. I'm serious, tone is subjective. But his amps give you the best "cleans" you are ever going to get unless you time travel back to Leo Fenders heyday.

Dario knows tone. Talking with him about how you can get it is the support. He then will tell you and talk with you every step of the way as he builds PTP by hand your "Custom" amp. Totally topshelf. Hands down the best.

Overall Rating : 10
I've played guitar since I was 12 yrs old, so for 24 yrs I chased the Tone Dragon. I worked for a Major Guitar manufacturer and have had literally hundreds of guitars and amps.
If it was stolen or lost, I'd order one yesterday!!
I love the Blonde era amps tones because it is the best basic tone. Then you add effects and player style to make the overall tone. The best "Template" for starts.
Dario Gomez has mastered this in every model amp and this Tank. I bought an El Sonido which is literally the best amp I've ever owned. I thought it wouldn't get better.
Then I bought ihis "G" tank and it got light years better from blues to Surf to Rockabilly. It will do it all. YOu also can get really heady noise rock type of space for freak outs.
Truly a gentleman and tone scholar. Now go in masses and get one
