This was made in 07-08. It is a perfect amp for the traditional blues styles that I play and, frankly, would be superb for the SRV style as well. It has two inputs and they sort of are separate channels, but NOT a switching type of amp. It has treble, mid, bass, volume, reverb and the two trem controls - everything anyone could ask for!
Through the graciousness of Mark Baier and Gretsch, this has been the house amp at a D.C. - area club for nearly two years. I run a blues jam once or twice a month (as do others) and it is always on stage for use by all. It gets work throughout the week as well. It is plenty loud for blues with a drummer and band - if it isn't, then the band is just too loud (what'd he say?)!

I have used it with P-90 Les Pauls and archtops, humbucker archtops, Strats/Teles (Don Mare) and a few oddballs (Lollar Charlie Christian & Chicago Steel) and it always sounds great. Many "jammers" have used it and it always performs. I have heard it used as a keyboard amp as well - could probably do anything.

Wow - live music six nights a week. Ok, not everyone uses it, but this amp has been USED and is going great.

Victoria is great - can't say about Fender/Gretsch though. Fendrer costs them a point here!

My main amp is a Victoria Regal. I have used every gigging tweed amp from the 50's, repros, Matchless, and this is right there. When you speak of comparing amps this good, you are truly splitting hairs.

New. Made by Victoria Amplifiers. One channel with great footswitchable Vibrato and reverb. 20w handwired point to point. No effects loop but never use them. Have only had it for a couple of days but plan on playing out in small clubs with it. Nine due to being single channel even though it's perfect for me.

AMAZING! I have numerous amplifiers and have owned numerous others and I think it's the nicest sounding amplifier I have ever owned. This includes a mid 60's twin reverb, Vox ac30, Silvertone 1485, Carvin Belair, Reverend Hellhound, etc... Lush effects, great clean sound and nice breakup when cranked. I haven't played all my guitars (gretsch 6120, 59' Les Paul RI, Nash Broadcaster, Danelectros, 75' Ibanez destroyer) but I imagine they will all sound great. I play alt country, rockabilly and some british invasion type stuff and it rocks!
Not a metal amp. The reverb has a very slight hum and the footswitch makes a very slight pop when turning on the vibrato, but unnoticable in a live setting.

I am not sure about reliability. I like having a backup with any tube amp when playing out. I've only had this amp a few days, but it seems well built. No problems so far.

I've been playing for close to 40 years, own many guitars, amps, sound reinforcement gear and effects. I would buy one again in a heartbeat, even if I had to see some of my other amps. I love the lushness of this amp. Wonderful vibrato and reverb and looks fantastic. The price is high on these, but that's not unusual anymore. You gotta pay to play!

This is a killer sounding amp. You can get beautiful rich, balanced, clean tones for pedal steel or crank it up with a Les Paul and get sweet singing tube overdrive. I play country and alternative/classic rock, this is a versatile amp. The spring reverb is phenomenal - the best i've ever heard. Loud enough for medium sized gigs.

I rate it at 7 because there's no reverb or master volume, but
the tremolo is absolutely beautiful.

Sounds great with a strat. A little overdrive when played loud
but in the nicest possible way. Good sounds for blues and sixties rock. You dont really need pedals, not for rhythm anyway.
That 15" Jensen doesn't let you down on the low notes either.
The tremelo makes even the simplest things sound cool.
Gets to muddy with humbuckers.
Not much variety but it's impossible to get a bad sound.
Looks fantastic

This amp was built around the time of The Twist and The Locomotion
and it's still running.
Everything is original and its in almost mint condition
except that the footswitch is missing.
I'm terrified that something will blow up if I play it too loud.
Of course the tubes can be replaced and it would probably sound
even better if I did, but the originals just look so good and
though it's not for sale I would like to keep it original.
Sort of like keeping the original strings on a 1962 guitar.
Stupid, I know.

been playing and gathering piles of cheap crap for 19 years.
The amp sounded great with a 96" japanese Fender strat, better
than my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Session Rockette or Ibanez Cube 40
which are all nice amps too, by the way.
I love the name too. Gretsch Executive Electromatic
This amp is NOT for sale

Forgot to mention in the first review, the Tremolo is terrific. The right twang for the Gretsch sound.

According to the person I bought it from it was made in 1965. It has two 6L6GC Power tubes and four 12AX7A preamp tubes. Easy to find. One fifteen inch Jensen gujitar speaker and one three inch speaker. Two channels with Volume and Tone for each channel and Temolo on one channel with a switching on/off. There is a Bass and a Treble input for each channel. I wish it had Reverb. I use this amp in small clubs and it's my main practice amp. For the right venue, the two 6L6's give it adequate power. Not gonna rock the house, but sounds great. My favorite feature is that it weighs less than half that of my Dual Pro. Still will need the Dual Pro for bigger jobs. Especially outside gigs.

I use a Gretsch reissue Sparkle Jet with a Filter Tron at the neck and a reissue Dearmond in the Bridge position. I play mostly Country and Light rock and this combination gives me that Gretsch Sound that I have been trying to get since the 1960's when I owned a Nashville and a Gretsch amp. No power noise whatsoever. I am really satisfied with the quietness of this amp. The single-coil position gets that 60 cycle hum, but I get that with any amp. Not a lot of versatility, but if you like the basic sound without a lot of fine tuning, this amp sounds great. At full volume with Sovtek 5881's, I can't seem to get any distortion. I use an Ibanez Tube Distortion unit so I can get as much as I want with a pedal. I general, this amp is clean, clean, clean. I was hoping to get a Deluxe Reverb for a small amp, but this amp will hold its own to any small amp if I use an outboard reverb unit.

I've just begun to use it, but I would trust it on any gig without a backup. It has never broken down and I doubt it will if the lack of any noise, hiss, hum, etc. is any indication. To be safe, however,I pack a small Crate 2110R just in case.

I've never had to get it repaired, but the insides look rather simple. Naturally Customer Support is long gone.

I have been playing guitar for over 40 years. I've owned a lot of instruments over those years, but am settling into just a couple of guitars and amps. No place for them in this house. Probably never be able to replace this amp if anything happended to it. I bought this amp mainly because I have wanted a Gretsch amp, but didn't want to pay a fortune for one. I was surprised at how clean it is for being 34 years old. If it had reverb, it could be a larger Deluxe Reverb. Bang for the buck was good. The seller told me it was appraised at $899.00. Who knows. All I know iis it kicks a__.
