Incredible little monster. in the same class as a tweed deluxe, with working tremolo. This amp was originally given to me by a family friend after it had been sitting in a shed for the better part of twenty years. messed with it a bit in high school, and later on discovered just how bad of repair it was in. half the primary of the output tranny was fried, which shouldn't surprise me with all the 'replacement' parts inside. Ugly. Got a deluxe tranny, reconed the speaker, and put it as close as I could to original (the schematic is stuck on the inside of the cabinet)spec. Not too hard to do with such a basic circuit. The fun part about this one is the whole character of the amp can be changed in the first tube. 12AU7, a little bit of crunch, pretty clean. 12AX7, it's a gainmonster (granted, it's no boogie, but one wouldn't expect that, right?) I'm currently running 6V6EH tubes, which I'm quite pleased with, and the speaker cone seems to be identical to some '67 jenson C12Q's I have. It makes a great little blues amp...

...until some of the parts I havn't replaced get warm and lose contact. but, heck, the thing was made in late '52 or early '53. all things considered, it's as reliable as I can make it to be A.K.A. old tube amp.

Overall this is a sweet little machine. It's too bad my Mexican Telecaster and own lacking guitar skills can't make it sing like it deserves, but that won't stop me from trying
