Volume, tone and four seperate inputs.....sweet.....each input seems to drive the amp slightly different....not many features, but i think simple is better...old jenson speaker too

i play a strat with noisless pups.....i love rootsy raw guitar sound and this guy delivers.......hit your guitar hard and it gets really dirty...play soft and sweet and it has a warm rich sound.....its too bad its only 15 watts.....a very very soft 15 watts by the way....its just the perfect volume for crankin up and jammin with a good drummer.....it would be killer for recording, but its real old, and has some odd buzzes that i cant seem to get rid of....but even so, it sounds so good that i think i could deal with some minor buzzing while the lower notes decay......each input on mine is funny too....the first one and the last one seem to have more gain than the middle two......oh yeah, and the amp is never ever harsh...even on the bridge pup with the tone all the way up....this is probably due to the fact that the cabinet is made out of a pressboard material....its very soft, and it warms the amp up a lot

well....i paid 250 for it and when it got home the speaker cable rotted right off....damn....so i took it to a tech and had it worked over, and one day later, it was crackeling.....i replaced the tubes but it still crackeled, so i took it back to the tech, and he said its probably a bad transistor....damn agian......well the amp is from 1960 and it was a cheap amp back then......still it kinda sucks...i hope the new transistor solves the problem, and i dont have anymore problems after that.

well after all the repairs and stuff it ended up costing me about 450.....still cheaper than say that gibson goldtone thing.......which is kinda the same idea....one volume knob...tone...simple....and this amp sounds phenomenal when its workin right.....soooo damn warm it could melt butter.....its rad with a tube screamer in front of it too.....overall worth the money in the long run, but still more than i had planned on spending....cant wait to use it in the studio.....oh yeah....my favorite thing is ive always wanted a tube amp that i could crank and not break down the walls in my house.....this amp does exactly that, and it sounds so fat when you do it....if you ever come across one of these pick it up....but try to get a deal, cause you will spend more on repairs later

K I recently got my hands on this 1960 version of the H305A, its is a wonderfull little amp. Its very versatile, works great for jangly beatles goodness at low (practice) volumes and sleezy blues on high. 4 channles, divied into groups of two each being a high end and a low end. no channle switching but really who needs that. No headphone jack but keep in mind this is from the 60's. -

K im using this with a 1963 harmony rocket with a front and back pickup. Wow. its clean and jangley then crank the volume (which is tied to the volume) and let'r rip. It breaks up just enough to get that garage dirty blues feeling that everyone is after. The tone knob really makes a big difference in sound (which is nice seeing as most older amps it normaly doesn't do much). With tone on bass you get a warm rich clean tone but when you crank it to the treble side and you get some nice distorion.

Well this amp is from 1960 and is still kicking around. it look nice, the cardboard case is solid. the only thing wrong with it is two holes punched in the grill (not the speaker thank god) and a missing platic knob. it has new mesa tubes and everything else is all original.

I have been playing for 4 years and this is my first tube amp and i think its a pretty decent starter. Its big, and loud, and cheap and sounds like all three which what a tube amp should sound like. I would recommend it to any blues/rock and roll lover (who happens to play guitar).

Three inputs, with two volume controls. Very odd circuit: Each half of the first 12AX7 is a seperate gain circuit. Also the strangest inverter I've ever seen. Totally unique, which is cool. 2 X 6V6, 5Y3 rectifier... etc. Only one "tone" control. Kind of like a Tweed Deluxe, but it does it's own thing.
No reverb. Cardboard cabinet!!! OK, it looks cheap, but it's actually designed and built quite well. Easily the equivalent of early Fenders.
Came with blackplate RCA 6V6's and a Jensen P12R ! Yummy.

OK, you look at this thing and say, "you've GOT to be kidding." Then you plug in, and just start playing for hours. Really. It's got a killer clean sound. Not crystalline, but warm and rich. With either input on "10", there's just enough Fendery break-up. But it's not like Fender. Impossible to explain, it just does it's own thing, and everyone who plays through it loves it. These are real sleepers.
One thing I love is the feedback I can get with the guitar up close. Feels lieka Marshall on "13". None of my other amps do this as well. Possibly because the circuit uses NO NEGATIVE FEDDBACK!
Now, one caveate:The above review was for the unit in stock form. The reason I only gave it a 7 is that it is a tad dark, even with the tone on "10". It just lacked a little harmonic richness. -even though everyone loves it as is. I'm a recording engineer by trade and VERY picky.
I decided to take a chance, and changed the output tranny (just a humble Hammond 1650.) HOLY COW!!! It's now one of my favorite amps of all time. (I own about 20, including Plexi's, Matchless, Kendrick, HiWatt, etc etc) No kidding. If you know how to work on amps, these little guys are amazing finds, and you'll end up with a totally unique sound to boot. My total cost, with the tranny, was $200 !!!
Even stock, they'll bring a smile to your face.

Hey, it's a tube amp. Take care of it, and keep spare tubes on-hand and you'll be fine. Internal components are decent. Power tranny gets a little hot, but seems within spec. Wiring is very well-done.
Oh -but don't spill your beer on it. the cab is stiff cardboard!

Not very loud (just enough for basement jams) but totally cool. Think tweed Deluxe.
Hey, if you've got bucks to spend, and only want one or two amps, get a Victoria, or Dr. Z, or a real tweed Deluxe, etc. BUT, if you collect amps, or are broke and want a tube amp anyway, try a Harmony. No kidding.

This is a '65 Harmony amp made in Chicago. It has two channels, each with a separate volume control and one shared tone control. It came with a 1 X 12" Jensen C12R and has @ X 6V6s, 1 X 5Y3, and 2 X 12AX7As. The cabinet is made of cardboard! It is a very basic old-style amp.

I blow harp through this thing and it sounds AWESOME! It's loud enough to play at jams and small gigs and rivals my '63 Fender Princeton for tone. The tone knob, when turned up, really effects the gain and sends this amp into overdrive! It's very quiet-no buzzing, hums, etc. It's great for blues-c r e a m city!! I haven't used it for any clean effects, though...

I've opened it up and it apparently has all the original caps and stuff. I used a capacitance meter and they're al in the ball-park. Someone must have used this amp religiously before a got it (less than 6 months ago). I've replaced the a.c. cable with the 3-prong safety type. The tubes tested out all very good and the preamp tubes were all high-grade Telefunkens...man-o-man!

I'd definetly keep my eye open for other Harmony amps, as I've heard that some of their other models were nice, too. Add to the fact that they're not in great demand, I imagine you can get 'em for relatively cheap.
