supposedly the last 100 watt head harry made before his passing in feb of this year. what makes this amp interesting is placing a guitar cord from the low normal input to the high input of the brilliant channel, and your instrument in the bottom brilliant channel. i have reviewed this amp before, and am so enthralled with it i must comment again

i turn the master about on 9-10 (oclock) and play with both brilliant and normal volume knobs, the variations are amazing, if you wantyou can put the master on low(9 oclock) and put the volumes all the way up, or one at a time, it is a really fine thing to play with. the thing is very very loud, very clear and defined, no mush, no noise, just pure abounding tones.this is the finest amp i have ever played, and as george scholz told me on the phone after i received it about 5 months ago, "you really wont know how it sounds until you open it up". and i am sure that is true. i tend to play it on low master volume. i enjoy my backyard right now, i did a cd a while back, but there is nothing like an amp in the outdoors, especially one that has a lot of headroom. go ahead laugh all you big time SRV players in clubs. how many guitar players does it take to play a stevie ray vaughn song? answer: all of them, apparently. that is a joke son. pay attention to me when i am talking to you boy. i love this amp. you can buy one too, in your dreams, your marshall or drz sure may be cool, but i was in the right place in the right time and i paid a cool penny for it, mister,,,,

it is immaculately prepared. i feel that the new Ei 12ax7s are a bit microphonic and i may replace them. the tesla el34s sound fine though. i have no qualms that this amp will be running 20 years from now. harry joyce knew what he was doing. read up on the man

i paid a lot of money for this amp, BUT i wanted an amp i could keep and never buy another, i had a slew of amps in 4 years, blues pearls, fenders, dr z's, mesa boogies, soldanos,,, dr z's were close but they did not have the headroom i wanted and the ability to go from clean on the guitar volume knob to big tone like this one,,, also the dr z amps had some quality control issues this one does not, lets face it ol mike zaite puts out a lot of amps and some componentsare faulty and you have to ship back,,, i know, i did it three times,, this is not a slam on him, just an explanation of the fact that this BIG time HJ amp has the ability to go from clean low volume on your guitar to big without losing any tone and it is more pleasurable andmore filling than any dr z amp i have had and i have had the route 66, the kt45, and carmen ghia... i give this amp a ten. it is a great pleasure to play... i also have a 69 super reverb that i am happy with but it has no versatility as this one... i play a 69 les paul deluxe with new hardware/lindy fraliniP-90 pickups, and a terry mcinturff polaris pro with mapel top, a reverend slingshot with P-90 pickups and a parker nitefly with a lindy fralin in the bridge, interestingly enough it sounds best with the reverend... very nice pickups joe naylor, in fact when i recorded with this the engineercame out and said what is that guitar on those tunes,,, and it was the reverend,,, the other was the mcinturff,,, now here is he deal,,, i am a 49 year old guy , i play a style that i would call rory ghallager/leslie west/with emphasis on hendrix arpeggios and i write modern gospel music, i am trying to upgrade this genre, perhaps you dont care, perhaps you think it is just religion, but it is not, if you are the least bit inquisitive you might find that the gospel is something that jesus preached in mark chapter one of the bible, and that if you have any kind of god given faith in the unseen you can believe that this gospel is the power of god to cause anyone to overcome any situation they are in, and make them triumph in this world, if they will believe, but the problem is we do not believe and do not want to believe.the gospel of jesus christ is not a feel good sermon, but it is power, the power of god extended to those who will believe it, not positive thinking, but something that can come to the heart of a man if they will humble themselves and yearn for a creator that is so far above themselves; so that is my little speech, and i is testifyin, and a fine amp too, buddy,, be well
