Harry Joyce ( soon to be George Scholz) cabs designed by George Scholz with the support of Harry before he passed on. Front loaded with two George Scholz designed 16ohm speakers. The wires from the jack go into connections on the speaker similar to Altec or JBL. No soldering needed.Great. Heavy duty Tolex, superb construction, and it looks great.

I've tested a lot of speakers and cabs in the last year. Celestion Centurys, Tone Tubbies, Altec 417 8c. Some very good speakers but these for my taste are the best. The speakers are 100 watts so they can handle my Diezel with ease. The clean channel sounds great as does all the channels. These speakers have a bigger sound than any other I've tried yet they are very musical, not harsh. I never tried a front loaded cab before but it seems there are less odd non musical frequencies than with a rear loaded cab. It just seems more natural.

So far I can't envision any problems. Built like a tank.

I spoke to Charles and George on several occasions and it was always professional. The cab was delivered in the time frame they said it would be. Being impatient as I am I was hoping it would come sooner. If I had one complaint it would be to include a cover because this is an expensive cab and the best I've ever seen. This would be a nice touch.

I have been playing 25 years and its great to get a product that lives up and exceeds your expectations. I have to thank the two prior reviewers who anwsered questions thru the e-mail. There is no trial period and I was concerned I might end up with something I didn't like. After extensive questions and e-mails I decided to go for it and I'm glad I did. Sure it would be great if it cost less but quality isn't inexpensive and this cab is well worth the price.

just made, companion to a 100 watt high gain harry joyce custom head. these cabinets are simple , but striking and effective. closed back. superb high quality construction throughout. sits a bit lower that your standard marshallesque half stack. big recessed handles on the sides with brass bolts. black tolex with exquisite harry joyce logo on the front. not sure what wood this is made of but it is the best. a bit pricey, but with the harry joyce 100 watt spkrs, it is worth it in the long run. no corners but here.

i have owned many many 2/12 cabs, more than one jenkins, and other custom types, mesa boogie also. this is the best one i have seen, in combination with the spkrs, also made custom for harry joyce. i grew tired of the open backed cabs, with the touted "sound bouncing off the back wall" effect. this cab is made to be played live. this is for big sounds, no 2 booth tavern joints, but big places. when i really open up the tone of this amp i will talk about it at length in another review. inside the cab are two ports for the bass, spkrs sit held down by clamps, spkrs are big and full. not for those who want early breakup. this cab is for people who like to play loud. i grew very weary with all the amps that had early breakup, whatever you prefer, but, why get an amp that gets no louder than your drummer? these are the days of small amps that are miked by big p.a.'s, but these cabs are throwbacks to the sixties, this cab ( and amp by the way) would make hendrix proud. the speakers are similar to fanes, but seem to be better. i have had owned 18 amps in the last four years, and about 8 different cab arrangements, with weber spkrs, celestion, soldano, mesa boogie, and fanes, but thes spkrs really kick. superb sound, but they are not for early breakup. neither are they extremely clean like a jbl, or other. the total cabinet and spkr combo is perfect for hendrix, srv, black crowes, ,, hard rock. but also british rock,. the cab should last a lifetime, the speakers rated at 100 watts a piece probably wont be blown by me any time soon.

playing since '65, this is the best cab i have ever used. more heavy duty than any newer marshall cab, these have the old sixties vibe. well worth the higher price tag. bogner cabs are pretty pricey, and worth it, the same can be said of these.

This is a follow up to my first review for the HJ Custom 50. after a few months of deliberation, I desided to pull the trigger on a Harry Joyce 2x12 cabinet. These cabinets are hand made one at a time. Mine was made in July of this year. As far as 2x12 cabinets go, I was not prepared for what I received, which was a total monster! This is easily the best cabinet I have ever played through. The cab is made of 14 ply Birch with the real TOLEX? that General Tire developed (super thick...durable stuff!). It also sports metal handles, gold input jack, big runner feet, and that classy HJ logo on the front. Very very nice.

I am using Terry McInturff Taurus Standards with my Harry Joyce Custom 50. I play rhythm guitar and the occasional lead in a rock band. The sound of this cab is very difficult to explain. You have not heard anything like it unless you own one. I know that sounds a bit snobbish, but trust me...I have owned a TON of cabinets, and nothing has ever sounded quite like this. The fact that these cabs are hand made custom jobs (at this time) probably has much to do with it. The HJ speakers feature British
cones,63 0z magnets with 2" voice coils and cast frames. They are rated at 100 watts each,@ 8ohms. The spring loaded connectors makes installation/swapping out extremely easy...not that my custom 50 will ever blow these speakers up :). The best way to describe the tone would be to say that you will be able to really HEAR your guitar and amp. The lows stay tight, the mids are very detailed, and the highs just sing all day...even if you prefer "ice pick" settings on your amp...these speakers will handle it. Driving this cab produces some of the most harmonically rich, complex tones I have ever heard.

This cabinet is built like a tank. I do not see how anything could possibly go wrong with it. If by some freak accident I'd lose a speaker...no biggie...I could have it swapped out with another HJ in minutes. If it's anything like the amp, it will outlast me. Come on, do you REALLY think that the legendary Harry Joyce would let anything that bears his name suck? This cab is amazing!

Charles Bertonazzi is definitely one of the coolest guys I have ever bought a piece of gear from. He is the man to talk to if you want a Harry Joyce amp or cab (you shouldn't get one without the other...they are really made for eachother!). Charles took the time to answer all of my questions, which had to be a real kick in the pants for him...since he's buildiing the HJ website and interfacing with all of the current players...PLUS talking to guys like me. He makes you feel like you're just as important as Rich Robinson...a big HJ player. A lot of guys in bigger companies will put you WAY on the back burner if they are working with a bunch of major acts (I am having a bad experience right now as a result of this with another unrelated product)...but Charles is all aces...a real gentleman. He also knows just what we want, because he's a player. It has always been my opinion that it takes a player to know what a player needs...Charles has done all of the hard work for you...just trust his opinions and descriptions, because he is spot on.

I have been playing guitar for nearly 7 years now. I have owned several amps in the past, including a Dr. Z Route 66, Tone King Galaxy, Mesa T-Verb, Blue Angel, Top Hat stuff, and a Marshall JCM 800. I have played Les Pauls, Tele's, Gretsch Jets, SG's, and the ultimate electric...the McInturff Taurus. I also use a PE Germ, and various Lovetone effects. The Harry Joyce rig is hands down the best rig I have ever owned. The other amps are fabulous, but this one is special. For all of the great amps out there...only a few can really be called special. This amp will rank among the greatest ever made...and the cab will be right there with it. The 2x12 sounds bigger than most 4x12's you will ever play. It was a bit pricey, but we all know that nowadays you really get what you pay for. When you consider the prices of assembly line amps and cabs from the big boys, it's really a no brainer. You will not find an amp and cab that sounds like this from some cookie cutter amp manufacturer. I'm not one for a perfect score, but hell...Harry has hit a grand slam here...and deserves every amount of praise he can get. If you are serious about sounding the best that you can, you owe it to yourself to check out the Harry Joyce line of Amps and Cabs. Hand made by a master...it cannot get any better than that! Big bucks = Big bang for a change :)). Get into a Harry Joyce rig...'nuff said.
