I will rate this amp compared to the best amps available and not by the price category. I Purchased new from Sam Ash in 2007 for $199. This a 2 channel 60 watt rms amp. It did not come with a foot switch but I bought one down the road. It also has an effects loop. Spring reverb. Separate EQ for each channel.Has headphone input and also one for CD player input to jam along with. One pre-amp tube that can be seen through a little window on the front panel (it's pretty cool). I play mostly reggae but will also play some metal and blues now and then too. The first thing I did was replace the speaker with a fender. It is my current stand alone that I use in a 3 piece reggae band and it is PLENTY loud. I can't think of any other features other than a tremelo (which I don't need but it is fun to play with) and I hate modeling features and digital crap on my amps.

Sound Quality : 8
I play a dual humbucker (Dimarzio P.A.F.'s), semi hollow body Carlo Robelli. This amp with the fender speaker upgrade just freakin' sings.
The clean truly sound like a full tube amp. Very articulate and warm. Channel 2 is the dirty channel and it can do anything from blues to metal. This is rated with the fender speaker upgrade.

Reliability : 10
Very well built and attractive. Yes I have used it without a backup.
Never have had a single problem with this amp as of yet.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't know never needed support.

Been playing for 25 years. I go through my share of amps and this is the only one that stays and I keep crawling back too. The only thing I wish I would have done was bought the 2x12 speaker version but it's not that big of a factor as this gives me everything I need. I don't know if they make these anymore with the pre amp tube but it is the only hybrid amp I have ever played that you can hear the difference with it in there. As far as value It is beyond me how they sell them so cheap even with the speaker upgrade your out $250 (new) bucks for a pro quality amp.

Purchased in 2007, this hybrid amp has 2 channels (switchable on panel or with optional footswitch), a 12" speaker, effects loop jack, input jack for personal stereo, headphone jack and reverb. I use it at home for personal practice but I think it's gig-worthy, being quite powerful. The 12AX7 pre-amp gives that tube snarl when I want it, without the reliability problems associated with all-tube amps, nevermind the price. I particularly like the personal stereo input that allows me to play along with my favorite CD. The best feature is the $170 price!

I'm using it with an Epiphone Dot Studio with GFS Mean 90 pickups. I basically like a clean sound and this combination gives me that. But I'd like to mention that the stock hot humbuckers really drove the crunch on this amp, something that some players may like. With the Mean 90s, the distortion is really controllable. At 60 watts, this amp can be quite LOUD.

Reliability : 8
Never broken down, although I've only had it for 4 months. Hartke amps have a good reputation, so I'd be confident gigging it without a backup.

Customer Support : 10
Information request emails to Hartke received prompt and friendly replies; no other contacts. Apparently, warranty repair requires shipment directly to Hartke. The 3 year warranty is excellent for this type of device.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for over 40 years, although this is my first electic setup since the 70s. I don't have a lot to compare my amp to except my buddy's much more expensive Marshall Valvestate. I like the sound, light weight (26 pounds) and the tube glowing through the little window on the front panel. At $170, this may be one of the best bargains around - an amp worthy of small-venue gigs at a practice amp price.
