This is a single channel all tube point to point wired amp which is based on a Fender Deluxe reverb design. Controls include volume, bass, mid, treble, reverb & presence. While it doesn't have lots of bells and whistles, controls are straight forward and simple, and provide the ability to adjust the amp to provide a variety of tones and accommodate a variety of guitars very well. The main feature is fantastic tone.

Sound Quality : 10
I play this amp with a 78 Les Paul (Duncan 59 pickups), a Strat, and a Taylor T5. All of these guitars sound great through it. The amp design is apparently based on a Fender Deluxe reverb, although it has much more bottom end than a Fender and much better overall tone in my opinion.

With no OD pedals the amp produces very beautiful, clean, warm tones up to volume level 3 (the exact level of course depends on the guitar/pickup combo). Although this amp is rated at 20 watts, volume level 3 is quite loud (I typically gig at volume level 2 1/2 and have no problem cutting through the mix). At volume 3, the amp really hits its sweet spot. At these levels the amp becomes very touch sensitive, producing slight to moderate, smooth overdriven tones, or clean tones depending on guitar volume and pick attack. From level 3 onward it becomes more and more saturated and gets downright mean at levels approaching 6.

At around volume 4-5 the amp actually reaches its max volume, but becomes more and more saturated as volume knob is increased. At these levels its pretty darn loud and works well for more aggressive blues/rock tones.

SInce I usually play at volumes that are just below the sweet spot, I use Fulltone Fat boost and Fulldrive 2 pedals in order to get overdriven sounds at lower volumes. Even at low volume the amp is very sensitive to OD pedals. With the Fulldrive pedals I get great overdriven sounds which clean up quite well by backing off on guitar volume or pick attack.

THis is a great amp I would recommend to anyone looking for a moderate volume amp w/ great touch sensitivity and fantastic tone.
