Has Gain,Master,Treble,Middle,Bass,Presence,On/Off(!) and an overdrive button. 20 watts. Headphone Jack. I play hardcore punk and metal. It's good for practice, but for gigs or really loud play it's just a nogo.
FOR PEOPLE WITH DISTORTION PEDALS: I use a Boss MD-2 distortion pedal and the sound was really crummy with this amp. Recently I started really screwing around with it and found the problem. The amp sounds much better with pedals if the Overdrive button is OFF and the Gain knob is set half-way (when it's off, the gain controls a lot of the volume). The OD sounds only good when it's alone to distort the sound.

I use a Squier AFFINITY TELE and it sounds good, mostly with my pedal. It only seems to be as noisy as the guitar plugged into it, and the Gain only screams at really high levels (with the OD). The Gain itself is pretty standard. But you can get a good variety of sounds with this, though pedals help a lot, but I usually leave the Treble, bass and presence maxed out or else it starts to sound less shiny. Good overall.

This amp is pretty robust. It's lasted me a year now, and any way I smash it, it just won't break. It's also nice to sit on.

I've been playing for 1.5-2 years and it's served me good for practice. It's not the kind of amp that will make any guitar sound good, but it does carry the sound well. I'll probably be buying something else in the future, but this is fine for practice. All I wish it had were two inputs, it'd be useful when a band member forgets his amp or something. Basically, you can't expect miracles, but for what it does, it does fine.

I bought this amp brand new, so it was probably made 2000, 2001. For information, just go to http://www.fernandesguitars.com/. I use this amp in my bedroom for practicing and jamming, and it definetly has enough power for that. Just a good beginning amp.

I am using this amp with a Fernandes FGZ guitar, S-S-H. This suits my musical style very well, as it has a distinctive tone, and sounds great clean. I play a lot of punk, grunge, and some heavier stuff, and it works well with all of them. I can get a large variety of sounds from it, from 50's rock to modern alternative. I don't think the overdrive is the best for metal, but it would do. The clean channel does get distorted easily at higher volumes, but I haven't figured the settings out just yet.

I haven't had this amp long enough to know how well it will hold up, but I guess Hiwatt is a good brand.

I have been playing for about a year now, and started off on accoustic. I got this amp because I didn't want to lose good clean tone. I don't think this amp would get stolen because I like it too much to get it out of my sight. I compared this amp too the Peavey Rage 158, and got this one because I got with a better guitar package. I would have gotten this one instead anyways. This a great amp. I have no problems whatsoever on the clean tone, or distortion. Just try it out before you purchase it.

this wonderful amp has two channels, solid state, 20 watts, 8", 8 ohm, Gain, Master, Treble, Middle, Bass, Presence, headphones out. it doesn't look really cool or anything, pretty basic and boring. i guess it'd be nice if it had stuff like line out, speaker out, and an effects loop but it's pretty inexpensive (list 140, discount at something like 100). the presence didnt seem to have much effect. it had plenty of power for a lil jam in my friend's bar. btw, the chicken head knobs are a nice touch. pretty basic features for an amp of its size

today, when my band met the other guitarist brought his new bulldog 20 so i plugged in and began jamming on it. i was totally amazed because i figured it'd be just another one of those cheap crap combos. it had beautiful sounding distortion and great overall tone for blues. i played some beatles (let it be lead) and srv's texas flood. somehow i heard a lot of really excellent reverb sound (but there wasn't any reverb on the amp itself, i might have accidentally left a delay pedal on but i highly doubt it). perhaps i was hearing things or the amp just sounds like that. anywho i was using my crappy POS yamaha strat (eg112) and my friend's samick/valley arts guitar strat, both of which sounded really awesome. we were playing a lot of songs with clean tones and light, bluesy, warm overdrive. it provided good tones there but i doubt it'll do good with metal. the sounds are really quite nice and probably could dish out a few more nice settings. we didnt crank it really far but it stayed clean at band level (i guess we dont play really loud though). i doubt this amp could do much more than coffee house gigs. my friend ran an ovation w/ a zoom 505 through it and said that it sounded pretty good.

i've been playing for about a year an a half. i have a yamaha strat, yamaha d'nought, boss compression sustainer, dod preamp overdrive/250, dod sustain, morley pro wah, dod delay, dod chorus which i used through this amp and sounded pretty cool. i also have a horrible yamaha combo amp (8" 10 watt). i think i'll be recommending this amp to my friends looking for a nice lil combo amp for clean/blues tones for practice and some band meets. it's definitely the best amp i've heard in this price range. i doubt i'll buy one though, i have my eyes set on a tech 21 trademark 10 since its more versatile (emulates mesa/boogie, marshall, and fender) and i need an amp that can handle more metal sounds. and also a word of advice about buying stuff, usually what i'll do is i'll go to guitar center and demo the product i want to buy and then bring a musician's friend catalog or print out an online retailer that has a good price (music123.com, musictoyz.com, zzounds.com, etc.) and have guitar center match the price. it's even easier now since guitar center owns musicians friend and they're familiar with the prices musicians friend offers.
