I've owned this amp for about a year. It's a cheap small reliable amp. Gets pretty loud and has two channels. The overdrive can be over the top. The clean is pretty good too. Nothing spectacular feature wise, but it has everything that counts. As said before you can't expect much for this price. There's reverb too, hence the R, it sounds quite good and is capable of small or large doses of reverb.

Sound Quality : 10
This gets a 10 for sound because it surpassed all my expectations. This distortion surprisingly sounds amazing on this, it's not quite like anything else I've heard. The clean doesn't do much for me, but it's stay clean like it should, even at high volumes. I play a tradition prs rip off through this and a hamer, both sound nice through it.

Reliability : 9
I doubt I'd gig with this thing, it's powerful enough for most situations. Maybe if I were miked up and solo artist I'd try it out though. So far it hasn't broken down, despite kind of looking like cheap piece of shit. Seems like it could handle some abuse.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with Fernandes. However they make very good quality products for an affordable price and seem to be doing a good job with the Hiwatt name. Their guitars and basses are great.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've been playing 10 years or so. I own other more powerful amps like a late 80's Hiwatt and a pearce. This thing can't compete with either, very different leagues. However if you're looking for a good cheap amp you can take to practice, random jam sessions, and so forth this is for you. You can literally hall this, a guitar, and back pack in one trip, set up and you're ready to go. It's compact by all means and surpassed any expectations I've had for it. Most everybody that's tried it so far seems to think the same thing.

Two switchable chanells,Overdrive and clearn.
Usual EQ,Bass-Mid-Tone(high).
Headphone and serial effects Loop.
Spring Reverbaration.
adjustable Mic input.

I use the bulldog as training amp or practice amp.
I don't expect much more of such a cheap device.Nevertheless it has
a good sound and is flexible in routing.

The clean Tone is fine.OnmyBulldog the Bass adjustment lacks. On the
half poti way itworks OK,but for the second half it worksnot. So
twelve o'clock position on bass poti is the maximum. But honestly said,
this is enough.I guess, that the poti was defect from beginning.
Such things can happen.
Clean Sound is OK,channel two(Distortion) is acceptable for a practice
amp.Always keep the small price in mind.
Reverbaration function is also OK.Just screw out the hardware reverb
from combo and underly it with a damping material. The reverb will not
resonate so extremley to other influences. So it is OK.
Serial effects loop works simple but fine.

For this price and functions, the Hiwatt Bulldog is a ten.For beginners
a good trainee amp.like for pros a fine practiceamp.
Sounds are OK.Or do you really expect for such a price a big monster ?

We should not go to the trap, that a Hiwatt Bulldog will sound like
the well known beast.Remember,it is a practice amp.

So this device would get a ten,but the bass poti of mine works not
complete,so its only a nine,traced from mine.

Nevertheless a good quality for a little money.
Not really the original Hiwatt, but an idea of it,and this is the
money worth.

Reliability : 10
Well,I don't expect, that the Bulldog will be as healthy as the original
Hiwatt. But from now it works OK

Customer Support : 10
Hiwatt/Fernandes offers a good support. They are also helpful,if you ask
them about the "original" Hiwatts.
They answer immidately !

Overall Rating : 10
For beginners a highly recommended amp.
For professionals a good practice amp with many features.

Well, show me this amp wich offers more for such a price ?

The Bulldog 30R is a great practice amp.Maybe Dave Reeves would also
agree to release such an amp for the small pocket.
If you want more, well, the DR103-Custom 100-are still manufactured.
Handwired !!!
