2009 model. Carefully made. 4 x 75W Fane speakers. 2 x 16ohm inputs. No castors. I give it an 8 because could have better jack and not cheap plastic ones for the price and at least a brochure or something.
The thing is unbelievable heavy for its size. Though I'm a big guy I sure go for the castors if I want to keep my spine intact.

I mainly use a '68 homemade Fender stratocaster with CS69 pickups, japanese neck and body (nitro lacquer) and all american hardware. Few analog effects (except for the Boss tuner) like Univibe homemade clone, idem Ge Fuzz Face, Triangle Muff, modified EHX Small Clone (with vibrato, tremolo and cap selector), Colorsound Power Boost reissue, DeArmond 1602 volume pedal and WEM Copicat IC300. I use a reissue DR103 Hiwatt. Sounds clean as mountain dew and a crystal glacial stream together. With no effects the Strat has almost an acoustic flavor, depending on the pups switch. I can add subtle layers of effects withouot loosing tone. The perfect match to me.

Built like a tank. I will buy a cover though. I'm sure I will drop this thing sometime. I would gig with it until the end of my life or gets destroyed by martians.

I bought it in England through Digital Village. I payed for it in July and got it in September, but man, it was worthy! They are very nice, so I don't think I'll have issues dealing with them. I also asked Hiwatt why it was taking so long to get the cab and they answered almost inmediatly they had a delayed delivery of the Fanes.

I've been playing for 25 years, I'm 37 now and gigging ocasionally. I also own a Vox AC30 combo with V212 cab for smaller venues. For practice at home and rehearsal, an Epiphone Valve Junior head (matched with the V212 cab) and another as a combo (I use them in stereo sometimes).
I do hate the jacks, sorry, maybe it's too neurotic, but they could have put better ones for the price. I hate the weight, but, you know, if you want to go analog...
I would have to sell my mother to get another one, but I'd have to think about it...

It's a guitar cab. Not a lot of "Features", but killer T-O-N-E tone!!!
My cab is a reissue with the nice thick weave gray and white checked grill cloth. I bought mine used in amazing condition. I've had so much trouble finding one of these cabs in good condition. The only real bummer is that I live on the second floor of my building and a 110lb cab without casters is a real biotch to get around. To make matters worse, this cab has rubber feet instead of metal skids so not only can you not roll it, you can't slide it either. Oy vey! But the tone of this cab more than makes up for the fact that I'll be a hunch back when I'm an old man from lugging this thing around.

Oh my god! This is the best cab to use with Hiwatts. I haven't had the chance to try it with my other amps (Plexi, JTM45, Orange OR80, Sound City 50 Plus, Fender Prosonic etc.) but I mainly bought this cab to use with my Hiwatt heads. I have a number of good cabs including 2 Mesa Boogie big box 4x12 Recto straight cabs with Celestion Vintage 30's and a Fender Tonemaster 4x12 cab, also with Vintage 30's.
Despite the fact the Mesa and Fender cabs use the same speakers, their tone is very different because of the different sizes of the cabs in question. The Mesa is big and boomy and sounds best with bright amps like my Plexi or Sound City. The Fender cab is much smaller and has a great punchy detailed sound while still maintaining a fair amount of bottom end. I like the sound of my Orange OR80, Fender Prosonic and Marshall JTM45 through this cab. My Hiwatt heads (100 watt) sound great through both cabs. If I'm playing heavy rock (Melvins, Black Sabbath) I like to match them with the Mesa cabs. If I'm playing noise pop, Brit rock and shoegazer stuff, I pair a Hiwatt head with with the Tonemaster. Even though both of these cabs sound great, the 100 watt Hiwatt is a pretty powerful amp and always seems to need a little taming. That's where the Hiwatt cab comes in...
For some reason this 110lb Fane loaded behemoth seems to mellow out the high end perfectly; still bright, but not TOO bright. The bass and overall volume seem bigger yet quieter if that makes any sense. I think it's because the cab is ported on the bottom of the back of the cab. The gray and white woven grill cloth is also very thick which probably part of the reason the treble mellows out so nicely. It's almost like...like...like it was made for the Hiwatt head (gasp). :)

This thing is ridiculously heavy for it's size. If you can damage this thing beyond tearing the tolex, you must be some type of gorilla or other feces-hurling creature with strength grossly disproportionate to his/her size.

These are no longer in production. Fernandes ownes the rights to the Hiwatt name, but the have stopped production to until they can find a country that can manufacture them for less money. If they ever do resume production, I would be highly suspicious of the quality.

This cab rocks my ass off and throws by back out. I might try to find another Hiwatt 4x12 and sell one of my Mesa cabs. Ohhhh! The agony IS the ecstasy!

New 4x12 box from MusicGround in England. Same look and weight of my early '70's 4123 (which I stupidly sold in 1980). I special ordered this unit with casters, although these could be easily added later.

Sounds very similar to my original 4123 although the new Fanes don't seem to have as much "balls" as the older Fanes. I hoping that this gets a little better with time. The difference is most probably due to using a JCM 900 instead of my original '73 plexi.

Haven't experienced any reliability issues but I don't club anymore, hence I don't punish my equipment by moving it often.

MisicGround was very easy to deal with and followed through with their promises. I doubt there will be any warranty issues and I don't expect assistance from England.

I've been playing rock (Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest type stuff) since the early 70's and use Gibson, Marshall and Hiwatt equipment. I've been searching for a 4123 box since the mid 90's and haven't found one in good condition. I finally took a gamble and bought a reproduction. I'm very happy with the box and will look for an original in good shape in my spare time.

early 80's to the best of my knowledge. it's a cab, so versatility isn't really an issue. it sounds great. period. suits clean sounds very well. important to note: this cab is NOT ported and while it is an se4123 in every other respect (75watt fanes, front-loaded). it is slanted and has the semi-transparent black grille. the model number on the back plate says "LA412"

sounds great. hiwatts are built better than anything else and fanes are possibly the best speakers out there. you can do anything with them and they sing clean and clear. great match with my 76 dr103.

hiwatt isn't really hiwatt anymore. currently, hiwatt is between manufacturers. i've never messed with any audio brothers hiwatt stuff, but these amps/cabs were built with the intention of having them last for eons, so customer support isn't really an issue.

i've been playing for 73 years and i'm only 21, so you can imagine how fantastic i am. i own a dr103, hiwatt cab, 63 bf showman, sunn 412 (which i intend to replace). i want another hiwatt cab but they're a bit elusive. i love this amp. hiwatt is the amp of the gods. it blows everything else away. if you want the best, buy a hiwatt.

This is a 4x12 straight cab. at 16 ohms and only one input. However, this this is the best sounding cab that I have ever played, and I have played most everything out there. It blows the bogner cabs away and that is saying something. It is built tough and weighs in at a hefty 110lbs with no casters. It uses Fane speakers and a 13 ply birch construction.

This is the best sounding cab there is. The fane speakers are what makes the difference. Extremely clear from high to low. There is no muddled sound anywhere in the frequency response curve. It is simply perfect, and even looks perfect with the black and whie checked grill.

I managed to get this thing just over cost with shipping, most places in NY charge about the retail 1300. This is alot for a cab, but it is really worth it. I push, bot a Hiwatt and a Hughes and Kettner through it and they sound better that anything. This cab is not beatable.
