I read the other review and agree with the reviewer. Mine is a head with a 2X12 convertible cabinet that can either be closed back or the cover removed for open back tones. This is an excellent blues/rock amp. I called Mike Holland a while ago and he told me about a new amp he was working on for another customer and it sounded exactly like what I wanted. The amp is not loaded with features but if that is what you are looking for then buy a digital modeling amp. This amp is designed to emulate the classic amps of the sixties and make them better. It is a loud 50 watts and sounds great a low and high volumes. I have gigged with it 5 times and each time members of the audience ask me which model Holland I am using. With the blend channel you get a great range of tones to choose from. Hendrix used to jump the channels on his Marshall so I guess that is where the idea came from. Get ready to see this feature on other amps however first they must match the tone of the Holland!

I play country rock/blues through a vintage telecaster. From my experience of playing for 15 years as a semi pro, old guitars sound great, old amps always need work. The other guitar player in the band has a blackface super reverb that makes all kinds of horrible noises but he has bought into the vintage is better philosophy, although yesterday he aked me for Mikes phone number. It is great to have a new amp that will be reliable for a few years before tubes and circuits become dirty and noisy. The amp needs a pedal for distortion at low volumes but at about the half way point turn the pedal off and get ready to lay down some classic stinging licks.

Reliability : 10
I have only had the amp a month but so far so good. Mike called about two weeks after I got it and and asked what I thought. For that alone I will give them a 10.

Customer Support : 10
Warranty is lifetime and they were extremely helpful when I called on the phone. If I got the machine I received a call back the same day.

Overall Rating : 10
I love this amp and would buy it again. I thought about a Carr but they are just too ugly. I might get one after a hard night of drinking but the next day I am shipping it back! The one thing Mike should do is put the sounds of his amps on the website. I took a chance on this amp and it worked out OK but it is great to be able to hear what you are getting before laying out that much cash.
