Mike Holland built Kenny burrel model in Blue with KB signature stenciled on the tweeed grill. 2x10 with Eminence lil' Buddies, which are just great speakers (hempcone and superwarm). 35 watts? reverb, etc.. It has already been said.

Sound Quality : 10
Expectional smooth clean tones. Well suited as you would imagine for Jazz and blues, but it can get nasty with the right setup. I play only archtops and very special ABe Rivera semi hollowbody. I can get from thick rich jazz lines to some nice overdriven tones with some effects!! This amp never fails at giving just beautiful tone!!! Ample headroom and it can fill a small to maybe medium gig without PA, feels as loud as any 2x12, but I rarely get it over vol 6 or 7 maybe.

Reliability : 10
I play it everyday. Main amp and I have replaced power tubesover time, and have installed some NOS mullards too, Otherwise, it runs cool and sounds sweet always. Components are tops!!! PTP Beefy transformers. etc..

I have heard some negative things about Mike's correspondence. I bought this used and still had communication with him. I spoke with him when considering this purchase about the amp and twice after and he responded quickly and was helpful, but that is the extent of it. So no problems at all inmy experience

Great amp!!! I am still trying to find a second just to have as a back up or to run some stereo. I bought this from a good friend and stillthank him when i get the chance. It ha been a reliable amp for me and I have used it in over 10 states when I first had it. I stay local now, but still tote this baby everywhere. STOLEN! WHAT! I would be a bit upset, this amp is like a buddy of mine now. I compared this amp to many many tube amps and although I own others, this is the one 90% of the time.

I was happy to see some great reviews of this amp and decided to submitt my own review for this amp. I bought mine used about 5 years ago. Paid 1720 plus tax in an LA shop for it and never looked back!! It is a 12 inch version with tweed grill and all tube handwired point to point amplifier. Has Reverb with ample control and a brilliance knob and sweep in addition to the typical T, M, Bass controls. Mine has 2,4,8 ohm output jacks for just about any cab. Wonderful durable TOLEX, not the cheap stuff. This tolex feels almost like it is sprayed on textured, but it is not. 12 inch EMinence Delta LIte? It has the Eminence crown label on the back and is rated at 350 watts, about 50 lbs and not light. It feels all of the 50 lbs. Needs a small dolly if you want to really tote it around.

Wow, this is a Rock, Blues, and Jazz Machine. That's right I said rock. I am not a big tube distortion guy so this amp is great as it does not distort. A few pedals and I get crisp clear distortion, not muddy mush!!! Great great rock amp as the clean stage is the ultimate creamy foundation for effects. I use a custom shop tele and a sadowsky strat. For Jazz and Blues without any pedals, this is the best I have played. Kenny Burrell all the way. You know the warm beautiful tone Kenny Burrell had and this is it. I have a 1998 18 inch Super 400 CES and the tone is all KB. Big thick and yet with supreme clarity. I also a own a Fender D'Aquisto ELite, which is designed after the Joe Pass and Jim Hall D'Aquisto's with laminate bodies. This guitar and this amp at a gig, will blow you mind. I smile everytime I plug that guitar into this amp!! It has ended my quest for electric Jazz tone!!! It is an amazing match. The reverb is fully controllable and absolutely more than usable. The presence knob also adds some openness to the tone and a bigger spread. Pretty much no fiddling around with this amp for this lush Jazz tone. The amp is DEAD QUIET!!!! Whatever Eminence speaker this is it is amazing. Clean as hell and never never flubby!! it will handle 5 times this wattage too. But this is 50 bi big watts!! Loud and stays clear!!

Man, I have toted this around quite a bit. It has some battle scars despite my best ability not to bang it around. Luckily it is a tank. The chasis is beautiful and the wiring and soldering pristine. Never had any issues whatsoever not even a loose connection. I swap the power tubes every 2 months with NOS Tung SOl and this baby never stops. I have read some bad stories with Mike Holland and support, but luckily never needed him and this amp was used at purchase and I use it more than regularly. It is my workhorse, but also my favorite amp.

I have bought and sold many many tube amps and solid states. This amp has remained my number one since it purchase. I have messed with the newer solid states, acoustic image, polytone, JazzKat, but although they were all actually nice and warm, they just lacked character and brilliance and flexibility. I play jazz, rock, and blues but mostly jazz. Even with the exponentially better solid state options and super lightweight rigs available, I have determined that I will always be a tube amp guy. Even with the huge downside of heavy amps, potentially high maintenance, and big cost I am maybe the only one that will say that I still prefer tube amps to any of these new alternatives. I have heard people say they like the sound of effects used with Acoustic image amps, and I just disagree I guess. Overdriven tones and distortion to my ears sound horrible from my clarus, maybe OK but certainly not good or great. This KB HOLLAND is more than twice the weight than the SS rig I was using, but still must have it. I am a tone freak and playing an archtop for jazz or using a solidbody for some heavier stuff will just not be great with those amps. Anyways, prior to this HOLLAND, I was playing a Matchless chief head into two 12 inch MESA cabs with EV speakers. That was a KILLER rig, but this HOLLAND has replaced that amp. I use the Holland only no extra cabs. I do bring a EV SXA 360 active PA if I need more, but that is rare as this baby is loud and can fill a rather large room beautifully. Love vintage tube tone too but cannot think about gigging with a vintage amp and this HOLLAND is as good or better than any vintage amp I have owned, especially when comparing the clean tone. I can honestly say that this amp is richer, clearer, and superior to vintage Fender clean and Gibson. I have a vintage AMPEG JET 12 inch at home and use it once and a while. AMPEG was in my opinion the reference vintage clean tone for JAZZ players and alike. This HOLLAND is superior. I keep the AMPEG and two vintage FENDERS around for sentimental value and I do crave their specific tones sometimes, but also they are in beautiful condition and worth some good money too. Never tried the 2x10 Holland KB amp, but would love to try one and if it has tight ample bass I am sure it is a winner too. I do love this 12 inch version. Can't fin too many owners of these amps. I assume only a small number were ever built. The components and assembly are top notch!! Would love to hear from others about this amp. Can't imagine anyone feels differently about it.

Straight forward M Holland handwired all tube amp. Beautiful work. 2 x 1o eminence speakers, all fenderlike tube config. Tweed grillcloth blue color tolex, high quality baffle and cabinet. As other reviewers mentioned basic tube combo components of top quality

Sound Quality : 10
CREAMY!!!! is all I can say. Beautiful thick clean tones!!!! With my Borys B120 archtop this amp can go from the most elegant warm jazz to big thick blues that will rattle your heart valves. Jazz and BLUES to die for. I also play a vintage LP custom through it with some pedal dirt and it KILLS not heavy metal KILLS but for rock and blues you can't miss this is surprisingly versatile. Beautiful sound, more reliable, cleaner, and without any muddiness compared to my vintage fender amps. Keep them as they are still great and worth a pretty penny. But this HOLLAND honestly is a step above any vintage fender deluxe or twin or what have you.

no problems yet

One of the best if not the best tube combo I have owned and trust me I have spent some cash on amps. I wish it weighed 15 lbs but that ain't going to happen. Otherwise if I ever need tone this is the amp I take. NO BS, NO HYPE, JUST PURE handwired tube tone!!! KUDOS HOLLAND AMPS, wish you were still kickin.

2 x 10 combo, with Kenny Burrell's endorsement. All tube amp, 6L6's, has a 5AR4 rectifier, a 12AX7WA for the driver, 2 5751's, and a 12AT7 reverb driver, a 4 ohm output transformer, and is available with a multi-tap output transformer as well. EMinence Speakers. 50 watts

Sound Quality : 10
Great great amp. SOrry the Holland amp co went out of business. All the Hollands sound great. This one is spectacular!!!! Clean clean Jazz and overdriven blues!!!!! WOrks well with overdrive pedals and distortion. I absolutely love the reverb, with just a little reverb this amp is delicious. I play it with my Buscarino Artisian and a Lacey D'Angelico style archtop. SOunds lush and elegant, but with big full notes. COuldn't imagine a better tube tone for Jazz, honestly best I have owned. I also play it with a telecaster and custom Tom ANderson. Both RIP!!! Although clean tone with very minimal tube distortion or overdrive, but that is the ticket for getting great results with pedals.

Reliability : 10
Built strong, built tough, this is a tank. Never had an issue. Runs cool and always delivers

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had an issue, but have contacted Holland for some info and they were extremely responsive, guaranteed for the lifetime of the amp, but the company no longer exists.

I bought this new 11 years ago and have loved it dearly. I still own a AMPEG ET-2 twin 10 stereo which is also an amazing amp!!! This is still my favorite and that is saying a lot. I have owned numerous fender deluxe reverbs and alike. Clean was sweet but not as sweet as this Holland, and not enough tone control, too boomy with my archtops, not enough balance. This amp can be dialed in, but even starts with a better clean tone than fenders, but some might argue this. They are welcome to come over and A/B this with their favorite Fender and we will see, or at least hear the difference. I have directly compared this to many amps over the years and still had to keep this one as my number 1. MAtchless, Mesa Boogie, Bad Cat, tried them all, nice amps but still with the Holland KB. Never dull never shrill, always gorgeous tone!!!!!! Only down side it is 50 lbs, but that it typical with a dual speaker tube combo. I only take it out when I really really want the best tone and it can be used for small and medium gigs with amazing results. Otherwise, I carry a small Evans amp solid state for lesser gigs, Evans is a great amp too, very warm and tube-like but a voice of its own. This is a true classic although undiscovered

This is a an original Holland Made point to point wired all tube 2 x 10 combo. It is a beautiful simplistic design with 50 watts of pure thick tube tone. I bought this new and have been nothing but thrilled with this amp. Blue tolex, reverb etc......

Sound Quality : 10
I gave it a great versatility rating as it is versatile. The main design was for clean jazz, hence the Kenny Burrell endorsement. KB always loved the fender vintage blackface tone and this amp nails it, but with superior clarity. The clean sound is basically all the way up to an 8 vol setting then thicker overdriven blues, that kills sets in. I play this with archtops, thinlines, and solidbodies, all with mind blowing tone. I play a tube screamer and other various pedals in front and it is nothing short of AMAZING!!! never flubby, always articulate but with warmth and richness. Fender Deluxe, but cleaner and more jazz like up to 8.

Reliability : 10
I have used it for almost 10 years now and never had even the slightest issues. I change the tubes regularly and that is it. Heavy duty amp with killer tone.

I have many amps, tube and SS. Standel 30J15T, Standel reissue 25L12, Dearmond 210 all tube, Alessandro Italian grey hound, SUnn sonaro..etc...

I also have a clarus, AER domino, Henriksen JAZZ AMP!!! PJB guitar 2x5 amp, all solid states and all very very wonderful amps too. Not tube but with tones to die for also.

This Holland is my favorite tube amp for Jazz!!! Even gets more use than my ALessandro Italian which was not cheap and is also a sweetie.

I have also compared this to the Heritage amps that make a Kenny Burrell. Aparently, KB switch to Heritage when they bought the Holland workshop. It is actually quite different. The circuit is different and to me not as sweet. Nice amp too, but sounded too dark and a bit sterile. My opinion. The Heritage is lighter weight and cheaper. This wasn't cheap but well worth the bucks and would never sell it!!! a real keeper.
