Made very recently in 2003.Play blues and classic rock. One channel pre amp based on the Tweed Bassman...the power amp section is based on a Deluxe Reverb GZ 34-6V6x2 set up.I play in clubs and the studio and use an array of stomp boxes.

The amp has given me fits getting it figured out-the stock speaker was an Eminence-gone-replaced it with a JBL K120...had some weird noises which was cured with some NOS Amperex tubes in ALL the pre amp slots.I have to say Val at Holland is a very service oriented guy and was helpful at all turns-still haven't been able to get a schematic for the amp but it DOES have a lifetime guarantee on the trannies and chassis.I wish they had put better tubes in to start with...I have used it without a back-up.

Val is great and willing to take his time with you-obviously, a musician and a knowledgeable tech...you are allowed to use yer own tech with a call to Holland amps.

I had about 3 hours playing on this amp when I had my issues with it-seems like somebody was sleepy the day they put the tubes in but,all in all, with the new tubes, the speaker upgrade, this is a spectacular amp for the money I have in it-the JBL made the difference over the Eminence Legend speaker that came in the amp.I really wish I had a schematic of this amp-so does my tech...

I actually have 2 LOBO amps. One is a 20 watt and the other is a 50 watt. They both have one 12" Legend speaker. Both were made in 2003. The 20 watt amp is newer, having arrived just last week. Holland has changed the cabinet dimensions by increasing the width approx. 1 1/2" to house a longer and deeper sounding reverb tank than on the earlier madels. I had a 35 watt Little Jimi Holland that I traded to Jay Wolfe on the 50 watt LOBO. I wanted a louder amp with a smaller cabinet. I had a line out added to the 50 watt amp. It sounds HUGE. Much more punch than my 35 watt JIMI. I decided to trade Jay one of my Boogies for another LOBO, so I got a 20 watt amp this time. The 20 watt is lighter and has a sweeter tone than the 50. It is similar to the difference between a Deluxe reverd and a Pro reverb. (The 20 watt amp has 6V6 power tubes, the 50 watt amp has 6L6 tubes.) Both amps are excellent, but I like the overall voice of the 20 watt amp better. I would rather have the 50 watt LOBO if I could only have one because with the extra power, it will cover any gig I might encounter.
Both amps have one channel, one input. Reverb, volume, treble, bass, middle and presence controls. They go from smokey jazz to bright Tele sounds with ease.

I play Telecaster, Strat, PRS, Heritage jazz, etc. I play jazz and blues mostly, some country. The amps are not noisy. The amps have so much life, they respond very quickly to your touch. They will distort at high volumes, but I use either a Boogie V-Twin or a Carl Martin Hot Drive and Boost for distorted sounds.

100% reliable. All hand wired. I've had 3 with no trouble. My friend had one, no problems. No backup required, although I did just buy some extra 3 amp fuses to keep in the gig bag.(I've never had a fuse blow on a Holland).

Excellent, by phone and e-mail. Great support. Val is an excellent guitarist as well as amp tech, so he can truly understand what we're looking for in an amp.Warranty is lifetime. Amp can be repaired by them or by my local tech, if it should ever need it.

I've been playing 37 years. I own an Evans amp, 2 Fenders, a Carvin amp,Boogie amp, various guitars, etc. If I had to replace either amp, I would do so with a similar model. I love the sound that is almost magical. Everywhere I take the amps I get the same comments about the tone and depth of sound. They have a great bass...deep, not flabby and the high end sparkles. Nothing to hate about them. I've compared them to many amps and I came to realize that an amp like this is a critical component to your sound. A massive upgrade over most anything else you can play through.
I've bought my Hollands from Jay Wolfe and highly recommed him. He keeps some in stock and others are custom ordered and shipped directly to you. My friends and I have been doing business with him for 8-10 years and he has a always treated us fairly and had a positive, can do attitude about our guitar and amp needs. Great prices, great service. Thanks, Jay for introducing me to Holland amps.
Value for the amps? How much is your sound worth? I paid $1,050 for the 20 watt amp and a few hundred more for the 50 watt. My plan is to sell off my other amps, except for the Evans JE-120 and the Carvin acoustic.

I have been looking for an amp for over the last year. I've tried the
modeling amps and the re-issues. I basically wanted a plug and play
amp with the sweet tones at low or high volumes.
I found it in the Holland Lobo 20. This Holland model is made for
Wolfe Guitars at 1-800-358-9014 or www.wolfeguitars.com

Smooth lush sounds and the setup was a snap.
With this great sound the guitar seems to play itself.
I rate Jay Wolfe as a first class dealer.

Simple Design Deluxe Reverb type amp with no Vibrato and only one channel and one input. roughly 20 watts, point to point handwired, "ALL TUBE" amp with Two 6v6 power tube and a 5A4 rectifier tube and 3 preamp tubes (The reverb is tube driven so one of them is probably an At7 and the others Ax7 but I have not checked yet). It has a presence control which really does more to change the touch sensitivity and change the sound from a smooth jazz tone to a Blackface Fender tone (very cool and useful). Volume range is entirely between 1-3&1/2 (before breakup begins) and it can get quite loud. Not a feature laden amp but everything works nicely and is quite useful

This amp was purchased when I decided that my beloved Bogner Shiva (which I love more than life itself) can do just about any tone but Blackface Deluxe reverb type thing. Also I play for a living and was tired of dragging my Bogner Shiva head and a 1X12 mesa 3/4 back cab everywhere. I had a Hot Rod Deluxe but it just wasn't in the leage of the Bogner so I never used it. My Wife bought me a Deluxe Reverb Reissue for my Birthday and it was so damn noisy I took it back the next day and found that all I tried were pretty noisy. I had heard that Jay Wolfe was getting Holland to make him these psuedo Deluxe Reverb type things and went down to try on out. WOW!!! it is MUCH MORE dynamic than my Bogner, Dead quiet, loud enough for most any gig other than a outdoor festival (of course you could mike it), and even when I replaced it's Jensen Alnico speaker vith a Celestion Vinatage 30 (my personal favorite) it is still under 37lbs. It is a single channel amp so to some degree it is a one trick pony, it is just amazing how much you can muster out of that one channel. It also likes low gain drive pedals (seems to love my Boss blues driver) to gently get it to the Robben Ford sound when it is at 2 (which is about where it ends up for most gigs). I am a professional player covering all styles (don't do much hard rock as I dont like it and It doesnt pay many bills) but jazz and blues are my two main styles. I am using it with a Tom Anderson hollow Drop Top and they like each other very much. The reverb is very good but not anything like a Fender. It is a Short Tank which made me go OH-NO but it sounds very good, sort of like my Bogners but not quite as long.

Only had it 3 weeks and 12 gigs so cant say yet but if it breaks it should be pretty easy for any tech to fix.

Have not delt with Holland (actually I emailed asking about Mike Holland's opinion when serching for a replacement for the Jensen P12 alnico speaker (I hate alnico speakers and never heard back but the Celestion V30 was perfect. I believe the only place you can get these is through Wolfe Guitars and Jay Wolfe would damn near kill himself to satisfy all of his customers.

I have been playing for 30 years now and professionally for about 17. As stated before I have a bogner Shiva which I cannot recomend highly enough as my other amp (as well as a Polytone but I only consider that a piece of crap to make things audible, not a tone giving amplifier). My guitars are a Tom Anderson hollow Drop Top, A Ibanez Pat Metheny and a Heritage Golden Eagle (soon a Heritage prospect with 25&1/2 scale is to join the squad) all are Buzz feiten Tuning system equipped. The Holland is great I actually have been keeping my eyes open for a little Jimi since purchasing this one. I actually like this thing as much as my Bogner (I cant believe I said that).

I asked Mike Holland to make me a 1 x 12" lightweight combo with reverb & 6v6 power tubes. I've been playing it for about 6 months now in a variety of venues. It has: single channel, 1 input, reverb (1 knob), treble, mid, bass & presence controls. Weighs only 30 lbs.

I play a wide variey of stuff, using- Zion Strat style, Heritage Millennium with Seth Lovers & a Heritage Sweet 16 with a floater.
I use it clean, sometimes with a Carl Martin o/d pedal & occassionally fairly loud with it's natural o/d. I'm VERY pleased with the clean tones- warm & lush with pure natural tone. It's natural overdrive really shines when cranked, and I am awed at the richness & variety of overdriven tones. The mid control really delivers variety at higher volumes. I've tried 3 different speakers, and they all sound great in this soulful little combo. Best sounding amp I've ever owned...period. That's what prompted me to write this.
I own some vintage Fenders with 6v6's, but they can't come close to this Holland for tone, volume nor roadworthy quality.

Warranty is lifetime for transformer, chassis. Speaker has it's own w/t. If I had a problem, I'd pull the chassis & box it & ship it back to Mike Holland. He's been helpful in the past with my other Hollands, which are larger, heavier & louder combo's. I love combos, but wanted a lower wattage amp this time.

Been playing 40 years, have a lot of amps. My best sounding amps are my 3 x 10 Holland without verb, 2 x 12 class A Holland & this little Lobo 20 Holland. Compared this amp side by side with my pristine '66 black face Deluxe Reverb & '65 Deluxe. The Fenders sound like there's a blanket over them when compared with the Holland Lobo 20. The Holland has so much more volume, tone & dramatically better overdrive.
I wish it was cheaper, but quality costs. It weighs more with a higher wattage speaker- which I would use if I used it strictly for Jazz, for max. headroom. There's my complaint- I wish it weighed 25 lbs. with the stronger speaker. But surely it'd cost lot's more to engineer a 25 watt combo that'd do everything this amp does.
