50 watt, 2 channel's, 2 master volume's, boost and 100 % tube signal path

Sound Quality : 10
Channel one: pristine clean, think custom shop fender and yes it has
lots of headroom.
Channel two: incredible dynamics, very british sounding and very loud. We all know tone is just an individual's taste, however in my
opinion, try swapping out the vintage 30 celestion with a G12-75.
To me, open back combo's already project plenty of midrange and
combining that with a speaker that is known for having fat midrange,
it sounds too fat, unbalanced and lacks in highs. Almost too smooth.
Using the G12-75 you get relaxed mids, larger bottom end and just enough brightness in the highs.

Two channels, 50 watts of very load power, 5 x 12AX7 preamps and 2 x EL34's, seperate bass/mid/treble per channel, 2 volume settings (very neat), boost button for lead soloing and the sexiest blue lit front panel you (or my wife) will ever see.

Sound Quality : 10
To my ears and the few people I have played this to all agree the sound is "Superb"! I play an 85 Les Paul Studio and an early 80's Strat with EMG's. We play rock, blues, ballads and country rock and this amp covers them all. It is really quite amazing the range of sounds you can get on the lead channel. When I play the EMG/Strat in the clean channel the sound is just so perfect, the sound I have been looking for for over 30 years. The sustain is the most amazing thing. I had kept a Marshall JTM30 and a JTM60 for years because I could not get the same amount of sustain at low to medium volume on any other amp I had tried. I also have a Marshall JCM2000 TSL 100 and 1936 cab...I should say "I had" because I have sold the lot, don't need them anymore. My most recent purchase (and mistake) was a H&K Zentera. A great idea, great emulations, but a buzzy piece of transistorised and expensive tehnology. The constant buzzing gave me a headache, fortunately I was dealing with a real good music shop and they took the amp back, no problems.

Playing the Gibson into this is what I do mostly and is a lot of fun. I have just been playing along with Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zep, Johnny Diesel, Keith Urban and in fact if you listen to Gary Moore's latest CD the sound I am now getting can even get very close to that as well, all the stuff I love to play...and at nearly any volume level I want.

I have been playing for over 30 years. I have tried a huge range of amps, as we all seem to. But no more, even if I buy some others I do not think that I will ever be without this little beauty. Did I mention the blue display...oh yeh I did, real nice. All the sounds are perfet for me, the extra master volume is a great feature, in fact that was one of the reasons I went for the TSL with the 3 channels and then the FX short you can do to get 2 volumes on each channel, but none of this is needed now. I sold all of my effects, all my Marshall amps, don't need them, just plug straight into the Duotone...nice and simple. Good work H&K......I have two words to describe this amp...Beautiful and Sustainerama. If you can afford one, get one you will not regret it.
