This is my first Harmony Central review - I just had to warn people about this amp. I have been a huge H&K fan and I used to own the old 20th Anniversary Edition Tube, which was an awesome amp with fantastic thick creamy distortion which went all the way from crunch to metal. I bought the 25th Anniversary one expecting more of the same, but I was so disappointed. This amp has been ruined by the new dirty channel pre-amp which is thin and unbelievably fizzy. The clean channel is still lovely, but the drive channel is so awful as to be practically unusable. It gets worse as you turn it up too - I took this amp to practice and the whole band thought it was dreadful. Fortunately I was able to return it for a refund. Avoid at all costs.

Do not buy without trying - my advice would be to avoid. Get a Blackstar HT-5 unless you are playing loud gigs.

This is the newest anniversery full tube Amp. built in 2008 or 2009. It's an basic Tube Amp that suits best for playing almost any style. Great for Jazz, Blues, Soft Rock. It has 2 channels clean and lead. a 3-way equalizer, beautiful reverb, serial effect loop, but no headphone jack, which I wish it had. I used this amp just a few times and I am surprised about the perfect clean sound. It has enough power for band practice.

I'm using the tube with my PRS SE Singlecut with humbuckers. The Amp doesn't make any noise, when you use grounded wall power sockets. The Amp is basic, so no effects or modeling, which is great when you have your own effects pedals. I used it with my KORG Toneworks 1500AG and the sound is still perfect. Good to know is that the sound is so full, that I rather not use my effects. The distortion is quite heavy. In high volume the clean channel does get distorted a little.

I haven't used the Amp with a gig, but I think it'll do great for what you could expect from a 20 watt tube amp.
