I got it used in 2003 in perfect conditions. No tricks: this is a pure one-channel load of rock'n'roll tone. I gave it 8 because it has no features but the tone controls and growl knob, a very cool bypass for the equalizing section. When the growl goes up, the signal bypass the tone pots, adding several decibels and pushing up the overdrive. Great. And LOUD!

I had many amps through my hands, and this little wonder goes straight to the gotha. It's perfectly built, it sounds better than you can expect, its incredible for recording. If you play a strat, you'll hear THE strat: i love the way you can hear the personality of the guitar you are playin'with. I play it with a strat,a tele,a lp and explorer so i think i have a full benchmark... Rock, classic rock, blues, funk and Classic metal: it fits any of your needs, as the head literally screams with a good pedal in front of it, if u need even more power from the tubes. I tried several pedals, and this baby is suited for analog stuff: the vintage rat, mxr, electro-harmonix and so on...

All the amp technicians i've shown it remained very impressed by the quality of its components and construction. So what to say? I can't stay without it, i use it regularly in my gigs and i am constantly receiving compliments for my sound.

Never had a single trouble with that built-like-a-tank beauty.

This thing looks very cool! See through plexiglass front glows blue when powered up. Very eye catching. New in '02 model. Class A EL 34 power tubes with settable wattage ranging from 35 to 80% to 50%. Very straightforward botique 1 channel design sets it squarely in the Matchless Clubman category. front panel layout is Growl, Treble, Mid , Bass and Volume. Runs in 16 or 8 ohm. All tube. No reverb, no effects loop, no tone soak.

I use it to play Rock. Classic rock, modern rock, soul, blues, reggae, southern rock, etc. The tone of this amp is just about perfect. Does the same things as my Matchless, just slightly different. For example, instead of a master volume it has a growl knob that adds a nice harmonic overdrive and a little volume and tames the glassy clean sound that good class A tube amps are famous for. The tone goes from glassy clean to slightly overdriven to full out singing. Works great with overdrive pedals. This amp is very loud and has a lot of clean headroom but you can get it to break up at somewhat reasonable levels using the power switch in the back that goes from full power to 80% to 50%. I like the sound of a good class a amp and this is as good or better than any I've ever used including Vox, Matchless, Orange (way better), DrZ, Mesa (way better), Budda(way better) etc. What sets this apart is the positive way the controls feel and that they don't interact like the English amps and their clones. You turn down the highs and all that happens is the highs come down. This is a world class botique amp and sounds totally killer.

I collect class A amps and I think this one is better than most of the botique models I've owned or tried. Looks killer, sounds even better.
