Features : 10
I bought this amp used on ebay and found the amp to be of a small series of amps that did not have any factory presets. More about this later. It was made in September of 2006. I think everyone reading this is aware of its attributes and its ability to cover a wide range of music styles. It pretty much does it all except for brewing espresso.
I play whatever I am in the mood for, blues, southern rock, a little progressive, drop tuned stuff, blah, blah, blah. Four channel, two speaker, tubes and digital technology. Mainly used at home, more than enough power for any indoor venue. I always miked my amps anyways at most gigs.

Sound Quality : 10
The sound quality is superb and sounds great with both single coils and humbuckers. I can get chimey goosebump tones from my strat and in your face grunt out of my Dean EVO. The effects are descent and the programming is about as simple as it gets. No noise whatsoever even with the high gain tones. I like being able to program different effects onto a tone and not have to step on a bunch of pedals to recreate that tone as I would if I had a pedalboard of stompboxes.

Reliability : No Opinion
Long story short, I had issues with the floorboard (common issue) and the lack of presets when I bought this. The ebay seller failed to disclose this but I got the amp for a price that ultimately reflected this. The amp is now fixed and I don't anticipate any further issues. I would be comfortable not having a backup with this amp. From what I understand, the pedal issue is resolved and H&K gave me a second one gratis!

Customer Support : 10
This is where this manufacturer shines. I know others have had issues with this as H&K didn't have the highest quality customer support in the past. Yorkville in Niagara Falls New York is the newest dealer in this position and these guys are awesome. Initially, I spoke with the main man in Germany to find out what needed to be done to get the presets installed. Keep in mind I am a second owner. He deferred me to Yorkville with all the required info and Yorkville had the amp in their possesion ONE DAY, fixed and shipped the following day!!! At no cost to me!!!! HOLY ****!! I have never in my forty years of guitar noodling had that level of customer service. Needless to say, I am beyond impressed.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Been playing a long, long time but still a hack! I would replace this amp in a heartbeat if some misfortune took place. I checked out Line 6 Spidervalve and the Bogner Alchemist prior to this purchase and IMHO the H&K is far superior. The only issue I have is with the volume jump as others have described, setting the volume needs to be done carefully at at bedroom volumes, very minor. Unlike others, I will give a perfect 10 when it is due!! Thanks to Michael, Jim, and Joe.... you guys rock!!!!
