I don't know when my amp was made. I like to play a little bit of everything from death metal to progressive rock to blues. The amp comes with the standard features Distortion channel/Clear channel, effects loop, head phone jack, 100 watts. I use this amp to jam with my band.

The amp really delivers on the clear channel as far as playing blues riffs and chords. You can't beat it!! It gives great depth and clarity. As far as the distortion channel, it does the job; the boost really helps out on the solos. I bought the half stack and it is loud. 100 watts is enough power for a gig. As far as noise is concerned, it is minimal if any.

I've been playing for 22 years and if it got stolen or lost again I'd easily buy another. You can't beat it for the price and reliability. Wish it came with a line out to hook up to a P.A. system, but you can use the "send" from the effects loop and works just as well.

First off im not the greatest guitar player ever, this was my first head unit, i play a limited run jackson slsmg with custom pickups.
Clean channel: Very clear, can get lots of tonal differences, has great sustain and reverb sounds great, hard to explain it just has great body to it that you can feel aswell as hear.
Distortion channel: Pure shite, honestly, nothing can describe how bad this makes my loverly guitar sound, ive tried using all sorts of pedals, compressors, noise gates, distortions nothing works.
I would recommend this amp if youre going to be playing clean sounds plus its cheap, but if your into heavy metal just say no.
Since owning this amp ive used a mesa dual rectifier, spose you cant compare the two amps because of the price difference, but the mesa totally slays the ibanez.
Honestly i dont see how some of you people have rated this thing as a 10, so misleading for people actually looking for amp advice.
Rating for the clean channel only as distortion gets a 2.

It takes up space and offers not much in return, i know some sad little kid will enter a new review saying how great it is and how can i say bad things about it, i can say bad things because ive tried higher grade amps, ive tried emgs which tbh sound awful and dull especially next to my customs.
If you desperately want an amp and have no money and arent serious about getting into a band (yus they will laugh at you) i suppose its for you, its loud enough to annoy people but its definately not a tone worthy of going deaf for.

Not sure what year my amp was made in, but its the limited tb100h dragon amp.
Very versatile, and 2 channels, and a crunch circuit option on the clean ch- To get this you turn the gain up to 10 on the clean ch.
And hit the boost on the footswitch. I mainly play joe satriani/ vinnie moore style music, and my own compositions of rock, and some blues, and it can handle all stlyes of music pretty well.
Came with a footsswitch. Has an effects loop And a headphone jack.
100 watts, plenty of power for me. I wish it had a crunch channel instead of a crunch circuit, but oh well. I hardley ever use the mid shift as it just muddies up the sound, I think, someday I might find a use for for it.
I mainly use this amp in the studio.
Its solid state, but sounds unbelievable for a solid state amp.

I use this amp with a ibanez js-100, a schecter pt custom, and a ibanez sa custom, and even a briarwood acoustic. Mainly using all humbuckers.
My style is rock/ shred, and it suits the styles very well, and has a ton of gain, and never have to go past 7 on the gain, because it has so much, and it gets too fuzzy. The 3 band eq, and presence make a lot of different tones. I also use a boss ds-1 in the clean ch and it can make a few good sounds, also. The distortion is of a brutal amount. The clean ch never distorts at the high volumes, and if it does, you just have to turn the gain on the clean ch. down

Awesome for the price, I paid 800$ At my local music store for this and the ibanez cab, that i pair it with.
I used to own a peavey delta blues, and the gain on 12 was equal to this amp on about, 4 or 3
If it were stolen I'd Sick my cat on the guy who stole it.

i think it's made in 2001 never cheked the manufactering date.
it's a good amp exept the overdrive channel really sucks, i don't know who can make a nice sound out of it. and i he does he must be deaf.
the clean channel is ok, not superb but ok
it's powerfull loud, but it can't cope against a Marshall JCM800 wich is the best.

the clean channel is ok, like i said the overdrive sucks i never use it.
If you buy desent distorion en overdrive pedals you can make nice sound with the clean channel. But you don't buy an amp to put pedals in front of it.
the boost button is also an useless item it just fucks op your sound.
and to get a good sound you'll defently beeing busy for hours to find it. if you found it its only good for one song, even if you play te same style all the time.
its just a very time consumening computer to get nice sounds, and who wants that!

i've played it for 3 years. i don't think that there's anybody who want to steel this. it sounded fine for me the first month's, but its to time consuming to find a good sound. its still solid state its just a computer you can't force it, i does for what its programmed. YOu'll better buy a smalle tube amp. or safe your money and go for a real all valve Marshall

distorion channel is the worst i have ever heard,
although the real beauty in this amp is the clean channel.
Although the clean channel aint bright and crisp this is where the benefit of a distortion pedal comes in to play as the sound from this is sheer balls out crunch sounding that of a valve amp.
for this alone i would not part with this little gem of an amp.

The clean channel sounds OK but not much colored. Maybe it lacks of personality but, as sait above, its neutral tone is perfect if you want to colour it yourself with some effects...
The overdrive channel is interesting at low gain (or low volume) but when you crank it up you get a very loud distortion, very fussy (not to say muddy). I wouldn't use it with my band!
I like the cabinets (straight). It has a really natural bassy sound...
I mostly use Ibanez guitars through it and I mostly play metal and brutal stuff. Because the Overdrive lacks of precision, I run a "Line6 Uber Metal" distortion through the clean channel and I get a huge monster sound (maybe due to the "Insane distortion") scooped in the mids and with a really huge bottom end.
I very appreciate the "boost". I use it for furious soloing...
The built in reverb is definitely too weak...you'll need an external reverb.
Of course it has a cold transistor sount which isn't as warm as a Tube amp (but it can be resolved with some effetcs), but warmth was not what I was looing for. Therefore I'll complete it with a real tube amp, so I can get more warm attacks... The mix of the two amps should be great!
I am very happy because of the price I paid for it (300?) and I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a good stack at low price. But remember tha the diostortion is very muddy and the clean is very neutral, so if you wanna have a more precise sound you'll need to use somme effects or if you want more attack and warmth, you'll have to use a good preamp...

-Distoprtion could be too muddy at high gain or high volume, but it's ok if you play nu-metal...
-Built in reverb is too weak
-Maybe it lacks of tattack if you don't use a preamp or effects

I've been playing for 9 years. The Tone Blaster full stack is very interesting for the cheap price... because of the muddy distortion, I use a "Line6 Uber Metal" with the clean channel...so this can blast your balls!

I got this solid state head with the 4x12 cab a few years ago, and it is an excellent first half stack for the metalhead. The thing I like most is the built-in mid-scoop. I'll get to that in the sound quality part. The lack of a master volume makes it difficult to crank the overdrive channel and still keep it under control.

I've used two axes through this thing. My primary guitar is an ESP LTD H-300 loaded with a Duncan Invader in the neck and an EMG HZ in the bridge. My backup is an Epiphone LP Custom.
Okay, now to the clean channel...it's alright. It's not the best, and it leaves something to be desired. Enough said. I don't use the clean channel much anyway.
The overdrive...at first, I was running my Boss MT2 MetalZone through this thing, because I couldn't stand the overdrive. After messing around with it for a while, I finally found a tone closer to what I was looking for. As I drifted closer and closer to metal, I became interested in the mid-scoop feature. I didn't like it very much, until I threw my MT2 on in front of the mid-scoop to replace a bit of the mids, dialed it in just right, and it sounds almost as good as a tube overdrive! It is much clearer and more defined. It's still pretty fuzzy, and gets noisy with the MT2 on, but that's nothing a noise suppressor can't fix.
All in all, good first stack solid state sound.

I've been playing for quite some time, but I feel like I've outgrown this stack. If it were stolen, I would probably be more motivated to get a tube stack. It's a great starter stack, and loud enough to play any venue.

100w solid state head...two channels plus a boost switch (so essentially you've got clean/crunch on the clean channel and od 1/od 2 on the distortion channel), effects loop, separate reverb for each channel, two speaker outs and a heaphone socket. There's also a mid-shift function, but avoid it like the plague, cos it sound like someone threw a wet blanket over your amp.
All in all, not too bad, but kinda limited. Would've been nice to have a line out for direct recording.

Currently using it with a Pro Studio 4x12 cab and an ESP MH-201 loaded w/ a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck. Also using it with an LTD EC-50 with a Zakk Wylde set of EMGs in it, and a Jackson DKMG baritone with an EMG 85 in the bridge and a 60 in the neck.
Well, I play everything from metal to nu-metal to hard rock, to alternative to modern, to covers of 80's pop songs...it's not a bad amp, this one. Considering it's cheap, you get a truly filthy amount of gain and volume, and the bass that this thing pumps out is unbelieveable. True, the distortion is perilously close to fuzz, it's that thick and grainy, but you can roll back your volume knob and clean the sound up a bit...clean channel is nothing special, even with the reverb. The mid shift function is just crap, scooping the mids so radically that it just completely muffles your sound.
Basically, if you play metal (newer metal, it'd be kinda tricky to get an old-school thrash sound out of this head), and you're on a budget, give this one a look. I'm pretty happy with it for the price I paid, I'll just be running a marshall head into another quad in tandem with this thing throug an A/B box, so I can switch to a warmer, rockier sound when I need to. Don't be one of those dicks who buys a stack and then runs a @%*&%$#%# metalzone pedal throug the clean channel. Honestly people, get with the program.

It's built like a brick shithouse. Solid state, so nothing should explode unless you abuse it mercilessly. The footswitch is made out of metal too, and it's sturdy as hell. Still wouldn't gig without a backup, but hey, that's life.

Been playing for 6 years through a variety of amps and guitars, bought this so that I could retire my faithful Peavey Studio Pro 65 (a great little amp). It's no tube amp, or even a more expensive solid state one, but hey, what do you want for the price? Light years better than comparable stuff like Ashton. A big, fat, solid gain machine that can blow holes in your walls. So what if it's not that versatile? Just buy more amps. You can never have enough gear.

I bought my amp in the summer of 2003.
This is definitely designed for pure heavy metal tones, which is fine by me. I can achieve slightly creamier tones just by backing off the volume knob on my guitar.
All of you who complain that this amp is too loud and too heavy...you're right! LOL!
It's SUPPOSED to be in-your-face and metal as hell.
I do wish it had a noise gate feature on it, since it does tend to be a bit noisy, but that's the nature of a high-gain amp. Otherwise, I dig it!
