I'm using a Ibanez PGM-30 modded to have Dimarzio Paf Pro and Dimarzio Tone Zone. It's a really good amp for it's price. But I mostly play metal and ones with hard distortions and this amp is able to do it. It has tons of gain and it will only work if you got decent pickups. Here's the deal.. its a good amp only if you give it a try. After 2 years of tweaking, I've been able to get a few great sounds. Especially heavy metallica riffs. Though.. it's only good enough for low levels.. more for a bedroom type of amp. The only downside to this amp is that the clean is not the best in the world.

Here's the thing.. switchin from clean to overdrive.. it sometimes doesnt. The button to switch it is loose like you have to push it in and out a few times to get it right.

made in china. bass, mid, treble EQ. cd input, input, overdrive, gain, 2 volumes for both the clean and overdrive channel. this version of the tb15 has no reverb. keep in mind i'll rate everything here about the amp as a BEGINNER/practice amp. for a beginner/practice amp, the features are quite good and definitely sufficient.

the clean is good, as in all solid state amps. pure clean signal. the distortion can be described as a quite midrangy "honk". a little "throaty" kinda distortion. however turning the mids down and boosting the treble and bass gives a credible 80s heavy metal tone for bedroom practicing. however i'm not too impressed with the distortion here. i use a behringer v-amp2 with this amp to achieve better, heavier and smoother sounding distortions.
you'll definitely need a pedal to make good distortion sounds out of this amp, unless if you dig the throaty midrange "honk".

i'll recommend a beginner to buy a cheap guitar with a low wattage tube amp. however if you prefer using the money to get a better guitar with a cheaper solid state amp, this is not a bad choice.
