I'm not sure when this was made, I bought it used. I know it's still in production.
It has a 10" "power jam" speaker, and 25 watts of power. It has a headphone jack and a place to plug in a footswitch.

It has reverb, 3-band EQ (bass, mid, treble), and separate volumes for the clean and overdrive channels, the overdrive channel also having gain adjustment, more or less everything I need. The channel selection is done by a button on the amp.

I wish it had a speaker output, but other than that it's great

I have a 10 by 8 foot room. It is obviously loud enough. It is actually too loud at all but the absolute lowest volume possibly without turning the sound off. 25 watts is plenty for practice or maybe a small gig, I have never had the opertunity to really turn it up, but I suspect it will be LOUD.

Sound Quality : 9
As someone else said, this seems to be based off a tube screamer pedal for distortion, or at least sounds somewhat like one. Turn the reverb all the way up, treble to +10, mid and bass both to -1, and gain to 10 on the overdrive channel and it sounds just like Hendrix at Woodstock. Seriously kickass.

The clean channel doesn't distort, although I haven't got it above 5. It actually sounds quite good clean, but I am playing an Ibanez GAX 70, with the world's worst pickups. It sounds like a ukulele through every amp I have played clean for no reason at all. The amp seems fine, though.

One thing that should be noted, and I think this is just because of the higher preamp gain, but I haven't seen it before, is that there is major feedback with overdrive, and no feedback with clean. Even if the guitar is sitting an inch from the face of the amp on clean, there is no feedback. Cheap Ibanez pickups are "mic pickups" and feedback extremely easily, it's strange (not bad, just strange) that this amp makes the feedback go away.

There is a little hiss, but very, very little.

Reliability : No Opinion
I got this used. For some reason, when you tap the amp with reverb on the amp plays echos like you dropped something in a very large room. No echos when the reverb is off. Last time I checked, amps are not supposed to pick up a sound when you hit/shake them and then apply an effect to it... oh well, it plays brilliantly and was dirt cheap, nothing appears to actually be broken, just really weird.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them, I just recently (earlier today) got this amp used.

Overall Rating : 8
I haven't been playing for long, only a few months. I am on a tight budget, and this showed up on Craigslist. It turns out it sounds awesome, even if it is paired with the crappiest sounding pickups ever. For the price ($35) it can't be beat. I wish it were a Marshall full stack, but that isn't $35 most of the time. I compared it to my brother's Marlboro 20A amp (ancient, and I can't find any info on it, I think it might be 5-12 watts, tiny practice amp size) and it does sound much better, the Marlboro's clean channel sounds like it's overdrive channel with a tiny bit less gain. The overdrive, in addition to being more variable, is really great compared to "moderate crunch and a lot of signal loss".

If it were stolen, I would get what I could afford. It's a $150 amp new, give or take some, so I probably woudl end up with another one in ters of quality level.
Realisticly, if I had $150 to spend on an amp I would get one that costs $400 new. I only buy used. If another one was availible for $35, though, I would grab it in a moment.

I got mine in 2006. Two channel - footswitchable 25 watts 10" Power Jam speaker. No indicator light on panel for channel status.
(My only gripe)

Sound Quality : 10
The distortion on this thing is awesome - think Tube Screamer!
The clean channel is flat with the bass, mid, and treble in the indent position - out of the circuit. There's a lot of tones you can get out of this amp. The find the best setting is boosting the bass, mid, and treble a bit.

Reliability : 9
Built very solid. Cabinet is tight.

Customer Support : No Opinion
A big company. I hope never to have to use them.

Overall Rating : 10
Great amp for practice, recording, or small combo. For metal or hard rock - get it's big brother. The clean channel has a lot of headroom and the spring reverb is pretty decent. And, the distortion is great - plenty of gain and think - Ibanez Tube Screamer!!!!!!!!!!

Bought the amp 4 years ago, before than I used a super-cheap 6,5" amplifier. Unless I turned my volume on the guitar way down, it was clipping. The TB25 was a great improvement! It has 2 channels, clean and overdrive, with shared EQ. I play pop, rock and hardrock, and it suits all well! It's a versitile amp and the 25 watts are actually loud enough for band-practice (my bandmate's will kill me if I turn it up all the way). So yeah, it is pretty loud.

Sound Quality : 9
Nowadays I'm using a PRS Santana SE, a humbucker-guitar, with the Ibanez or with my other amp, a H&K Tube 50. The Ibanez got lots of gain, turning it past 12 'o clock will cause severe loss of definition and sound. But on 12...sounds great! Pinch harmonics just seem to fly out of it. It sings really nice. The clean channel is pretty too. Both channels aren't that special, they don't have much character of their own, but it sounds great at home or with band-practice. Only sounds that won't be in this amp are slightly crunched sounds. I'm giving this an 9, because I feel, for the price, Ibanez has done a great job. I still play the amp frequently, after 4 years of owning it.

Reliability : 8
It has plastic corners. Already lost one. Too bad. Apart from that, it feels pretty solid.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for 5 years, played in several bands. At our music education center, they're using these amps too! If it were stolen, I'd probably buy a rack-setup. But it is a real bargain.

Well.....
This is a combo, with the pre and final unit builds with solid state technology. The max power output is 25 watt. It has 2 channels: one for clean sounds and one overdrived. You can find on the frontal part 3 inputs: guitar in, foot switch and phones jack. You can select the channels by a button near the clean volume konob. You have separated volume knobs one for clean and one for overdrive. In the frontal panel you can find the equalization knob: treble, middle and bass.
The speaker is a 10".
To play in a room with the only company of your guitar is good! Low power is a good thing to study!

Sound Quality : 7
I play with a Fender Squire Bullet, with three pick up single coil. I play hard rock and some metal Iron style. The amp is not noisy or fuzzy, only my cheap guitar, equipped with a low-cost pick up serie, catch the noise in the air and put it in the amp! The clean sound are very good! You can play rhythm parts and lead parts with any difficult. The sound is warm and cool!!!! Very good things for a cheap amp!
The overdrive channel is not so good like the clean.....is you pump up the gain, especially if you have a single coil pick up, it's noisy! And the sound, when you are playing power chords, is "kneaded" without a good definition. What do you want for $ 100?
You MUST work very hard with the equalization knob every time to obtain a decent overdrived sound. If you set the gain at minimum level, you can obtain a good Frusciante sound! Not bad!

Reliability : 8
9 months, no problems with this amp. Case, speaker, circuits are strong!

Customer Support : No Opinion
No contacts with Ibanez company. I have bought this into a little music store...I have never listen that Ibanez made guitar amps befor that day!
Sorry, but I have any opinion about customer support.

Overall Rating : 7
I'm playing this amp for 9 months, and I'm waiting a multi-effects board. The next amp will be a solid state transistor, with a Fender American stratocaster made in USA with Duncan pickup. IRON RULES!
Why don't buy a tube amp? If you want a good valve amp you have to spend less than $ 2000......And with $ 600 you buy a good "transisor", with 100 watt output and 3 channels, for live sessions!
Buy this Ibanez and use it for study: don't worry......is great!

The TB 25R is a very simple amp with 2 channels and a decent Reverb. It is not heavy, it is not too big (it is about full size though for a 1x10 type combo. It has no effects loop but has alot of volume and headroom on the clean channel. It is a very nice solid state combo that a pro can appreciate and a beginner can get a good sound out of and not out grow. I am not giveing it a high rating for features but I think it has the perfect amount and they are all functional for a practicing muscian.

Sound Quality : 8
This amplifier is REALLY flat sounding (I mean that in a good way) and does not color your tone unless you want it too. It has a wonderful speaker that sounds very much like a Celestion V10 (what I use in everything else) but I don't think it cost very much and it has a smewhat small magnent. I am a professional musician who plays nights, teaches at two universities and is finishing my graduate work at the same time. All of my small amps were at various schools and I got a call for a cruise ship gig on a weekend. I did not want to drag my Vibroverb (65lbs) or my Bogner head and a 1x12 cab so I went to the corner guitar store to find a decent small amp with headroom. I have a little Digitech RP3 set to give a sound somewhere between Pat Metheny and Mike Stern so I just needed a clean unassuming rig. I generally use only Botique stuff these days so I really had no idea how bad most of the new amps are. It seems to be all about modeling which for the most part sounds like shit to my ears. Yea it is cool in your bedroom but not in a real situation. You know the old addage "you can't polish a turd". Anyway after trying all the Fender, Marshall, Roland, Peavey, and Crate stuff I had just about given up then I saw this cheap little combo in the corner. When I asked about it the salesman said "it can't model anything" so I was now excited. When I plugged in I actually heard my guitar and when I turned it up it didn't fall apart (while that is cool on a tube amp solid state power distortion is not a good thing). I plugged in my RP3, my Heritage Prospect (with 25.5 scale and Buzz Feiten tuning system) and I really liked what I heard. When the salesman said $125 I said I'll take 2. As far as the overdrive channel it is rather juvinile and only if you like Nirvana will you care for it but the clean is great and the active EQ means put everything near 5 and life is good. I can't give it a 10 because that is reserved for the likes ov my Vibroverb or my Bogner Shiva but it gets high marks.

Reliability : 10
It is solid state. Everything else i have is tube so I am sure this will be my most reliable amp.

???????????????????????????

Overall Rating : 9
I really like this amp and recomend it to anyone who wants a nice amp that can function for just about anything but could still fit in a Porsche Boxter. It is REALLY quite loud if need be and the tone does not change much from whisper quiet to LOUD. It has similar amout of headroom as my 40 watt tube Vibroverb. It is not as loud but it is just as loud before any breakup occurs. This is a cheap amp you will not outgrow.

2001 or 2002 TB25R. Clean and Distortion channels, basic 3 band EQ, Reverb. Solid State, 25 watts.

I bought this as a inexpensive practice amp, but it ended up being used for jamming with a drummer and bassist.

Sound Quality : 6
I was impressed initially by this little amp, playing with a strat and some messing with the EQ I could get some halfway decent clean tones. But where I think these TB amps perform well is their distortion channel. Nice crunchy modern-sounding distortion...its not exactly Marshall-like crunch but for the price range, it sounds pretty damn good. Might sound a little too sterile sounding for you blues guys, though.

I think Ibanez underrates these amps, as it sounds louder than 25 watts with the distortion cranked. A buddy of mine used this amp to regularly jam with a pretty loud drummer and bassist(me) and it was able to cut through pretty well suprisingly.

Also, for such a cheap amp the reverb sounds really great.

Reliability : 9
This amp is a tank...its been borrowed by countless buddies, dropped, kicked over, had a bass played through it at almost full volume, etc. It looks beat to hell but still works perfectly today. Never really owned any Ibanez gear but this amp says alot for their reliability.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 7
I am a guitar player turned bassist, so now this amp sits in my guitar player friend's living room. The bastard still hasnt paid me anything for it, though. I sold all the rest of my guitar gear, except for my beloved yamaha acoustic.

Anyways, if you want a reliable practice/jamming amp with good distorted tone for cheap, look into the TB series.

Same as all the others on the page, 25 watt, reverb, overdrive...bought a footswitch for it after a while, but the Ibanez footsw. was really hard to get, it was always sold out and I wanted it badly, so I bought it from some brand called Leem.

Sound Quality : 7
My style is very versatile, trying to combine hard rock with slow music. And the amp handles it, more or less. With a good tuned guitar the overdrive is heavenly, but sometimes not deep, 'warm' enough. If you turn the Overdrive-button open completely, you better hold on, cause it blows you away. I actually still don't believe it's only 25 watt. It's my only amp, but I've played others, and this one can really go loud!!! I even use it for my band practice, and I can overpower the drums easily, when volume and gain aren't even halfway!
For the clean sound I'm a bit less excited. It doesn't provide a beautiful warm sound like I would want it. But hey, it's Ibanez! Metal and distortion is their biggest concern! And they've done an excellent job there.
Buzzes sometimes on the low E, or with a (power)chord E(m), and it's not the guitar, I'm shure!

Reliability : 8
I never experienced any trouble with it playing in the band. Like I said, low E buzzes, but when I turn up the volume it doesn't!!! Weird...
I would rely on it on a gig, but I would rather use something bigger when playing live in front of crowd, although for small gigs, this is an pretty cool amp for no price.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never met them.

Overall Rating : 7
I've been playing it for half a year now, and I'm rather happy I bought it! When I have the money, I'll maybe buy a Peavey, they're cheap but bigger.

Decent Features. When i bought it all i knew i wanted was reverb. Back before i knew what tone was. 2 footswitchable channels, LOTS of distortion.

Sound Quality : 10
I use an LP style Vantage Ghost with a dimarzio tonezone in the bridge and a PAF pro in the neck. I can get everything from blues to outrageous screaming metal on this thing. Where it really shines is when i mix the dist on this with my TS7, WOW!!!!! I can rival Satriani with it. If you lower the mids and bass you get a real perfect metal/shred lead sound. Good highs. I love the reverb. It's INCREDIBLY loud, i cranked this thing to 5 once and I almost deafened myself, had a lot of feedback but that could be my guitar. At tamer volumes it (with the TS7) it can give a good "end of song" feedback that is just perfect for what i need sometimes. I would give it an 8 but i'm gonna give it a 10 to offset those others who gave it such bad reviews.Sometimes It doesn't sound Tubey enough for my tastes so i'm getting a Fender Blues Jr. But I doubt I'll get rid of this amp for a long time.

Reliability : 9
Has plastic corner protectors. but otherwise it's built like a tank, metal pot shafts.

Customer Support : 9
Never dealt with them. 5 yr warranty though.

Overall Rating : 8
I have been playing for about a year or two. If it was lost i prolly wouldn't get another, just for the reason that I am getting another amp soon anyway. It did have some hum problems when i had both distortions going together, a little radio as well, but over all its very good imho.

i paid 130 bucks for this in
this little amp is pretty damn versatile.i had a gibson sg through it and it sounded good, i run my acoustic electric through it and that sounds good. then i returned the sg and got an american strat that sounds really good. it has 2 channels switchable by a little switch. it has a three band eq which i different than all the other ones because this one has a -12 and + 12 on all the eq settings so you can really get the eq you want. it keeps the twang on my strat even with 10s as strings. i dont gig and the amp is perfect for home use and small gigs and can get loud as hell i dont ever play it past like 3-5 on overdrivel its deafening. the distortion on this amp is really really heavy. i rarely have to use the ibanez smashbox i have.its a solid state amp and its a 25 watt with reverb. good for all styles of music. i play classic rock, rock, metal some blues/jazz stuff.has headphone jack and footswitch.2 channels distortion with gain and volume, 1 set of eq, volume for clean and a reverb knob.

Sound Quality : 9
i am using an american start with 3 single coils and it sounds good. good for heavy/ low distortion. if the distortion on gain channel is turned really low it sounds like shit. the clean channel is really good, sounds almost acoustic and crisp. good with acoustics also. the clean channel i dont think it gets fuzzy and distorted at high volumes. the distortion as i said is pretty brutal.ill give it a 9 cause ive gotten sick of the eq at times.just randomly me being a tone freak. the distortion sounds like crap if the volume is under one. but who plays with a 25 watt amp at a volume lower than one.

Reliability : 10
yeah. i can depend on it. its good for practicing at home and it could handle small/medium gigs.

Customer Support : No Opinion
ibanez hq is pretty close to where i live and the store i got it from would send it to them. so i dont know of their customer service so i wont comment.

Overall Rating : 9
ive only been playing a year. but i have pretty good years. this amp i compared to a marshall 20 watt and i liked the sound a lot better. i dislike marshall distortion its not harsh at all. this amps distotion is a lot more agressive. lately ive been looking at new amps. peaveys, fenders and marshalls all of their distortions lack depth and power in the solid state small 50-100 watt range and in the 300ish dollar range. i keep the mids and bass at 12 o clock and the treble at full.
i like this amp quite a lot and might end up buying a bigger ibanez amp because the price to performance ratio is amazing. i highly recommend this 25 watt amp with reverb to beginners and anyone else who wants a good amp but doesnt wanna spent 100s. it gets a 9 because i dont think its perfect.

2003 model , one channel , does what I bought it for.
wish it had a line out , but will use a direct box (better anyway)
I'm using it to beef up an ovation for blues, country rock , and
reage. Is much better than going directly into the system which I was doing.

Sound Quality : 8
a little bit of buzz on the distortion channel , but when I'm using it
who cares , you can't hear it anyway until you stop.
I think it was a good choice (cheapest amp in the store ) for the money. When using a direct box into a 1600 watt Carvin system with 900 watts of speaker ... it's pretty nice and gives the lead guitar player something to surf on. You gotta know how to use things instead of just whinning that you didn't get a 1000 dollar amp for 150 bucks.

Reliability : No Opinion
just bought it... we'll see

Customer Support : No Opinion
couldn't say bought it in town and will take it to them with a hammer in my hand if anything goes wrong.

Overall Rating : 8
I'm using it for what I bought it for and it's doing the job.
Turned my cheap ovation into an electric sounding rock and blues monster. Our lead player is a monster and this is helping me keep up with him (with a direct box) pretty well

don't think I would use it on stage without a direct box because it only has 25 watts. But that's like saying I won't fly because I don't have wings... duh !!!
