This Amp has 2 Channels Clean / Overdrive , a Boost function , seperate Equalization on both channels and most important : a foot switch for both channels. I think this is ok for amp in this price class.

Sound Quality : 6
First thing to say it is not a tube amp, so the sound quality is limited, as a other user writed in this forum you can beat tube amps and thats true. But this amp can also produce good sounds, mostly in the overdrive channel. The clean channel isnt very good because this amp produces a sharp tone without great harmonics. In my opinion the overdrive channel can produce good sounds, especially for harder styles like metal and as i play stoner rock. The overdrive also produce warmer sound than the clean channel, but is still very sharp, but this isnt always bad.

Reliability : 9
I never had any technical problems with this amp. You can use it on a small club stage when you play mainly in overdrive channel.

Customer Support : 6
2 years warranty. I bought it in a music shop, but as i writed before i never had problems with this amp.

Overall Rating : 6
I play for 4 years now and i just joined a band half year ago. This amp is my second amp. For jamming with the band and gigs on small stages this amp is ok. As i wrote, the sound of the overdrive channel is ok and works good with my style. I play a LP Custom which works good with the amp so that i can get a few really good sounds. But if wes hould get succesful one
day i will definitely buy a tube amp because you can replace their sound.

given as a gift as of 2003, 50 watt reverb, 2 channel footswitch crunch and clean, boost button, effects loop, headphone jack, speaker output, usual amp

Sound Quality : 5
Ehh, not too good all around, clean inst really clean at all unless you turn the gain all the way down which cuts out your volume. I use the distortion 80% of the time its not all the great either, its lacking the roar but has the low end thump. Hooked my Boss Metal Zone up so it thinking i could get a better distortion...nope sounded liked crap even compared to my friends 6+ year old fender amp.

Reliability : 9
slammed a couple times, held up fine so far

I bought this amp new in 2001, I think. Maybe 2000. 2 channels, clean and overdrive, with reverb. "Boost" feature and mid switch. Came with a footswitch, that was nice. In this price range, I'd say it has plenty of features. At least, 3 or 4 years ago it did. now we're seeing amps in the $200-$300 range with digital effects and such. I use a Digitech RP200 and an Ibanez Chorus/Flanger, however, which takes care of a lot of effects and different sounds. I use this amp in my computer/music room. I've yet to play a gig with a band. I plan on having a tube amp when that happens. Solid state just doesn't cut it.

Sound Quality : 6
I use a schecter C-1+ which has 2 duncan designed humbuckers. It's a beautiful guitar with a great feel and wonderful sound. Through this amp, however, it's sound gets watered down a bit. You see, as other reviewers have mentioned, this amp sounds extremely sterile. No color or brightness. The clean channel, in particular, is just painfully sterile. You CAN get some ok sounds out of the clean channel, but nothing spectacular. Going up on the gain at high volumes makes for some semi-cool break-up and distortion. Quite a bit lifeless, but sharp. I do like the overdrive channel quite a bit actually, but it's limited too (not nearly as much as the clean channel), and that's frustrating. The overdrive channel produces some very hi-gain distortion, and it actually is very easy to get several different metal and hard rock sounds out of it. For one, you can get a nice, master-of-puppets era metallica sound by scooping the mids. You can get some cool hardcore/punk-type sounds going too by backing off the gain, cutting the mids a bit, and raising the treble. Overall, the distortion is more a modern kind of overdrive... but you can work with it. The mid-shift is an interesting feature, and gives the distortion an open, echoish kinda feel. As for the reverb... it's ok. I don't use it much. It isn't bad, but I've certainly heard better.

It's suprisingly, not THAT noisy... despite the fact that the overdrive channel just gets INSANE at high levels. There is some very noticeable hum sometimes and some occasional feedback.

As for my music style, I play all sorts of things. I've found that this amp has a niche however, and that's metal, modernish hard rock and punk, so I play hard a lot.

So... I guess it doesn't sound that bad? And it isn't... but the sterility of the sound, and the limited, colorless clean channel can get very frustrating.

I would reccomend it for those on a budget who are interested in nu-metal (yuck), and perhaps hardcore punk or some other "hard" style.

As for me... I'm getting a nice tube amp soon, so bye bye Ibanez.

Reliability : 10
Yeah, dependable. Have never had a problem with it, and can't see having one anytime soon. The rubber knob covers sometimes slip off, but who cares?

I've been playing off and on for about 5 years. In the last two years I've become much more dedicated to playing. I own two guitars, the previously mentioned schecter and a cheap silvertone strat copy, that came with a tiny 8 watt silvertone amp. I own a Vox Wah pedal, a digitech rp200 effects processor, an Ibanez Chorus/Flanger pedal, multi-track recording software, and sequencing/sampling software.

I would not buy another one, I should have tried to get a low-priced peavey tube amp or something similiar. This amp can be a lot of fun, but it can be a lifeless bore too.

Well, it's got enough features, included footswitch, decent reverb, fx loop, footswitchable boost, midshift on the od channel, headphone jack. It's loud enough, however...

Sound Quality : 5
Here's where I decided I was taking this thing back; the sound is totally lacking in any organic warmth. Sounds synthetic and like another reviewer said, sterile. That's solidstate for you, I guess. I don't care how many people say it or how many times it's said, YOU CAN'T BEAT TUBES FOR TONE! No comparison. Save another $200 and get a tube amp, if you stick with guitar and get decent, you'll be really glad you did. If not, ebay your tube amp; they hold valus a lot better than amps like this.

Reliability : 9
It seemed reliable enough. Hell, that's the one thing solidstates have going for them, so if yours isn't reliable, you're screwed!

Chinese made Ibanez, has a five year warranty, though. Deal with your dealer or find out about local Ibanez authorized repair shops for the first five years. Shouldn't need to, though.

Overall Rating : 5
Like I said, plenty of features, everything you'd need, as long as you're not hung up on minor things like SOUND QUALITY! I don't know, it ought to be fine for power chord cheeseball modern rock, which is synthetic by nature. But if you're a blueser or a jazzer, or even a soulful classic rocker, do yourself a favor and save another $100 or two and scour e-bay for a good used tube amp, if you can't afford the $500 for a nice Delta Blues 210 by Peavey (great all around amp) or a Fender Hot Rod (though overpriced, now made in Mexico and too loud for intimate settings anyway)

This is a wonderful amp for all styles of music that I play. It is a two channel amp with effect loops and a headphone jack. It can handle everything and there are no features that I wish it had, it has it all. I use all the features of this amplifier and they all sound great. I've just recently started a band with a couple of my friends and this amp works great and makes our music sound great too. It is a very powerful amp with great sound.

Sound Quality : 8
The sound is great on this amp and I have been complimented on it's sound. I play mostly rock and punk and I feel that this is a great amplifier for this kind of music or any kind. On this amp, there is clean and overdrive for people who like a variety of sounds. I have noticed a little bit of fuzzyness on one of the channels, but nothing big. This amp can distort sound in many different ways.

Reliability : 10
I have not have this amp for that long, but the store I bought it from said it was a very reliable amplifier. So far, I have not had any problems.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have not had to deal with the company.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been an active guitarist for about a year and a half now and compared to some amps I have seen, this one is great. I would recommend this amp to anyone who wants a great sound, but are on a budget.

All in all this is a very versatile amp. It has two channels that are footswitchable, an effects loop, and an external speaker output. It can be used in your bedroom all the way to a small gig (it doesn't sound like 50 watts to me, but then again it is a SS amp).

Sound Quality : 2
Basically, this amp is very high gain but EXTREMELY sterile sounding. I have used both an imitate strat and a Jackson RX-10D. The style I play is 80's thrash, and an amp without a roar or tone of any kind is unacceptable to me. The clean channel is decent and the amp isn't that noisy. The distortion is very high but without punch, just a bunch of fuzz.

Reliability : 10
It is a solid state amp and had never broken down on me for the time that I owned it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't know, I never dealt with Ibanez.

I've been playing for 2 years (but have many more years musical experience in general), and recently sold my TB 50R because I wanted a tube amp. If I liked the new metal crap, I'd probably buy another one if this broke down. In my opinion, this amp simply doesn't compare to the Marshall AVT 20 I own. I bought it because I just wanted a louder amp than my Hi-watt Bulldog 20. I would like this amp if it had a better tube sound, it sounds like a radio. I would however recommend this amp if you favor new metal, otherwise it's a piece of garbage.

Cool boost feature which adds volume to both channels,2 Channels, clean and overdrive; Clean: gain, 3 band eq, volume; Overdrive: gain, 3 band eq with mid shift, volume; master reverb; FX loop, external speaker jack, closed back cabinet; 2 stereo foot switch jacks for hooking up 2 Ibanez dual function footswitches, one jack controls channel/boost, with the other jack controlling reverb toggle/mid shift. Really cheesy looks, black vinyl covered......cheesy looking face. Cool grille cloth, though.

Sound Quality : 9
So far I've only used it with my Ibanez AX120 with AH series pickups, I'm about to replace those pickups with a dimarzio tone zone and evolution with push/pull tone knobs to tap the coils. This amp is amazing for the price, and very good at any price range. The clean channel does not sound just like Fender. If you HAVE to have that, get a fender. This IS one of the most versatile clean channels I've ever seen. Turning the gain knob up all the way gives you a nice tube-like break up which cleans up nicely when you turn the guitars volume down.....very punchy clean tone, I'm very happy with it. The distortion is mind-boggling. Sound like 5150 distortion, especially with the closed back cabinet, the amp gets very punchy and moves air. NICE! More distortion here than anyone could ever ever need.......dimebag darrel doesn't have THAT much distortion. What's really cool is that there's a lot of cool increments along the way of the gain knob......it goes from Skunk Baxters "My Old School" solo tone all the way to a death metal tone. I've really never seen an amp with quite this much gain. The neatest thing is that the eq is really responsive, you get a LOT of tone shaping ability here. The mid shift feature (pull out the mid knob) makes a lot of difference by itself, and since it's footswitchable, it gives you another tone available right from your footswitch. Way cool. I'm extremely happy with this amp's sounds.

I'm a guitar teacher with 7 years teaching behind me......I have to play and teach EVERY style of music......this is a great amp for playing different styles. My own music is a cross between living colour and the Dave Matthews Band. Plus I play some jazz "real book" gigs. This amp handles it all. It's an amazing amp for the price!!!
