2x10 guitar cabinet loaded with Celestion G10 Vintage speakers, cocoa tolex, leather strap style handle and a switchable stereo/mono setup. Also has a partially open back. Hand made in California, USA 2005.
I use this cabinet mostly for recording but I have had it in live situations as well. Performs very well for it's size and is as versatile as a guitar speaker cab can be. Thumbs up.

The Celestion G10 Vintage speakers are absolutly the best for my style playing everything from progressive rock to country. Sensitivity of my amp is reproduced very well.

This is a Birch plywood cabinet built with 3/4" wood. The baffle and back are 1/2" birch ply as well. The speakers are loaded from the back and can be swapped through the port hole on the back panel. (a very nice feature for us studio guys) Perfect tolex and grill cloth installation. Seams are virtually seamless and the hardware looks to be of high quality.
I'll give it an eight here because I have only had it about a month.

I called the company direct and spoke to Jeff Earl. He is the guy who runs the show at J Design and was very helpful with emailing pictures of sample cabinets to me and maling tolex samples for comparison. There are not many companies out there now that would do that. (and I checked a handful before settling on J Design) Email was answered within 24 hours even on the weekend. Thumbs up again.

I don't own a bunch of gear but I have used the Lions Share of what is available in stores. I buy high quality custom gear for the personal features and so it lasts. This cabinet has quality miles beyond anything I could find at my local music store.

This review is for a 2x10 cab with a porthole open back. I opted for the weber british speakers. Dark green tolex with wheat grill. It looks like a vintage amp cab. Absolutely beautiful. Jeff also put two 1/4 jacks in the back so that I could use this cab with my Jenkins Highway 61 cab.

I own a Jenkins 2x12 cab which sounds amazing. Doug has stopped builiding cabs so I had to search for another custom cab builder. I did a lot of research and landed with JDesign. A lot of it had to do with Jeff Earl. He is a great guy to work with and builds the best cabinet in the business. I have never seen a nicer cabinet. I was floored at how quickly Jeff built this cab for me and he kept me informed through the whole process. He even sent pictures as the cab was being built. That earned huge points in my book. I am now a loyal fan. The cabinet was deliverd to my doorstop on the day that Jeff promised.
The 10' webers sound amazing combined with Jeff's craftmenship. I have a double fat strat and your classic strat along with a Gibson 335. I can't get a bad tone out of this cabinet. I am currently using a Dr Z Route 66 head along with a THD Univalve (both amazing heads) I can't speak highly enough about both heads. I use the 2x10 to get those lush blues tones that we all dream of having. Jeff's cab is the greatest edition to my set up.

The cabinet is built rock solid. I believe that Jeff would stand behind his product if anything went wrong with it.

I have been playing guitar for over 20 years. Professionally for the last 10 years. I have owned a ton of equipment. Jeff Earls Cabinets are the best cabs that I have ever owned. I will continue to do business with this man. I cannot speak highly enough about this man. If you are wavering on what cab to buy just jump in and buy from this man. You will not be sorry. I am saving up to buy another cab from him. Looking to purchase the 12/10 cab. Thanks Jeff! You have a loyal fan here in LA.
