I own a Jackson 100W JG3- single channel tube amp, two gain stages, treble, mid (with boost), selectable mid boost, bass, presence, master gain- effects loop, 4,8,16 ohm matching, two speaker outs, line out with level, very versatile- Made by Laney for Lee Jackson (Charvel/Jackson)late 80's. I use this amp in my recording studio- 100 watts of this amp will be enough for most anything. "Action" is 1 of 2 that were specially built for Brad Whitford of Aerosmith. The two amps were nicknamed "Action" #1 and "Jesse" #2. JG2 Jacksons were more common.

Sound Quality : 10
I personally think this amp is well suited for dirty blues, rock of all styles, and makes a great bass amp. If setup right, It will sing- sustain for as long as you would like to sustain, just smooth tone loud-

Reliability : 10
Built from the ground up to outlast all who read this. Never let me down-

Customer Support : 1
None for rare tone monsters like this one. Laney would be your only help-

Overall Rating : 10
If you can find one, buy it-

these amps were built in the late 80's by Laney for Charvel Jackson.

they are an extremely versatile single channel tube head.
the multi channel / modeling amp crowd might not quite understand how to use one of these jewels , but dont let that sway you.

the pull mid boost and the extra gain stage is the key to guitar tone Heaven with these "unknown gems"

if you find one ... buy it ... they are flat out awesome

Sound Quality : 9
the Jackson JG2/JG3 is very well suited for shred , metal , rock , and more.

i have a Perfect Pair of 6CA7 power tubes from the Tube Store in my JG2 , and they just flat out sing when you crank 'em.
they are smooth and tight .

Reliability : 10
had my JG2 for years , and never a problem

Customer Support : 1
dont expect ANY customer support from Jackson .

Overall Rating : No Opinion
i have been playing for 25 years , and own many different guitars , pickups , amps , and cabinets.

my Jackson JG2 is one of my favorite amps .... along with my Peavey VTM60 , Laney GH100TI , and Marshall 9001 preamp / 9100 power amp rack system.

made by jackson, the guitar company.
2 gain stages. 3 way mid boost switch. and everything else you'd expect to find on a 1 channel amp with no reverb.
4 el84's.
Heaviest head i've ever tried to lift. outweighs my 5150 by probably 20 pounds. the wood is thicker than the wood used to make most 4x12's! this thing is a tank. covered in black felt.

Sound Quality : 5
not very versital. you can get a not so good sounding crunch, or a ok sounding lead/high gain tone. lots of options for mids, but none of them sound all that great. bad representation of what el84's should sound like. its ok for being only $150 used.

Reliability : No Opinion
its built pretty damn solid. i only kept it for a week, so i couldn't say how reliable it really is.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 6
ok as a backup head if you don't mind lugging around this beast.
