i dont actually know what year the amp was made in but i got it of my uncle who was using it a a bass and vocals amp. he used it for both as it has the high and low gain inputs.
the amp is pretty versatile, it makes my thunderbird IV and precision basses have a really great bassy sound. it can also be changed to have a really nice tone for slap bass. two channels, headphones jack, fooswitch (effects loop. to switch channles you either have to have to footswitch, or you need to pull the overdrive button out, i used a wah wah pedal as a foot switch once, worked perfectly suprisingly
tube is epic, makes it alot louder and seein as it was damn powerful to begin with, tube drive on, and master volume on 3 it can shake the house.

I used humbucker pickups with the amp (on my epi goth-thunderbird IV) i play hard rock sorta stuff, so the bass stands out a fair bit. this amp is great for giving me the sound i need.
its loud and only a little noisy, it only really gets noisy when the drive is on and it doesnt feedback easily, but thats good and bad.
its got a wide variety of sounds. diferent tones can be established by using the 'bass med treble and presence' controls.
the clean channle goes fine at higher levels, its just best to turn the other effects down first to get the best sound out of it.
the distortion is ok i guess, its definatly not the best but it goes alright with the right settings.

I have been using this amp for a few years. my uncle had it for many before that and it has never needed repair. it still plays great just like it did when it was bought (apparently).
its never been dropped or anything so there is no reason for it to be broken, however i dont beleive ive ever serviced it (wait, does cleaning dust off it count as service)
no need for backups

Ive been playing a few years.
I own a precision bass and an gothic epiphone thunderbird IV
if it was stolen or lost, i would probably go an a rampage trying to find the person that stole it. i love it :)
pros:I love its great authentic sound, and it goes very loud.
cons: apparently neighbours dont like people playing instruments really loudly, the sound doesnt have as good a quality unless if its past like 1 and a half, it goes from too quite, to loud enough to piss people off within about .5 of a millimetres turn of the master volume.
overall its a great amp and they really shouldnt have stopped making them.

it's got the standard controls on the clean setting;eq, presence, and volume. On the overdrive channel it's got gain, volume and contour controls. It's also got a master volume. It's got an fx loop and a headphone jack as well as footswitch but it's got no speaker output.

I use this with a yamaha rgx-312 and a dod hard rock pedal that's like 15 years old (so is my guitar) and the clean channel is really crunchy with alot of bite which is cool because i was not expecting it to sound this good because it was the cheapest 75 watt amp in the store and was the biggest amp i could afford. it's not noisy.
the overdrive sux for the kind of music i play. i play machine head and slipknot and stuff like that and the amp is just to muddy and dull on the distortion channel, even with my emg-81 it sux.the pedal sounds good but i borrowed my friends dod grunge and when the pedal is on and the amp is cranked it just dissolves into noise but this was probably the pedal.

i've been playing for 2 and a half years and this was the second amp i've owned. love the clean channel, hate the dirty channel. also hate that there isn't speaker output because i wanted to purchase a cab to play it through because it isn't really loud enough without a p.a.
