2x10 with weber P10R's open/closed back configuration. The attention to detail is amazing. Truly hand built with the desire to manufacture the best possible product he can.

This is the best value going! The sound is huge and complex, it makes playing my Dr. Z Maz Jr. even more fun than it was before. I find that I am plugging straight into the amp more than I am using effects. Easily the best sounding cab for any price point. I find that with the weber P10R's in the cab it does sound best open and wouldn't recomend the cab for 7 string rap/rock/metal players.

If this unit falls apart it would be because I hit it with my car.

Guys like Doug make purchasing gear fun! If you are a player you should check out his cabs. Currently they are WAY UNDERVALUED and you should jump at the opportunity to own what will definately be considered a classic!

Solid wood. Fender Blackface Cosmetics. One input jack. 2 Weber P10R speakers. Removeable back panel for open or closed operation.

It sounds exactly as I hoped it would. With a Fender Deluxe Reverb RI amp., and the back off, very detailed and chimey at low volumes. Roars and rings and sings as volume goes up. Back on, its a little boomy, with more bass and a little less low end definition. It's what I wanted. Have no idea if you would like it.

Doug Holt is excellent. Delivered my cab in just a few weeks.

Its exactly what I wanted. Since it was custom made to my specifications, and met them, for only a little more than a mass produced cabinet, it gets a 10.

See the other reviews. I got mine before a price increase, don't expect this price. Still a great value though.

I put 2 Weber C10Ps in this solid pine cab - you couldn't ask for a better blues tone with my Cage 18/30 head. No effects - no need. Take off the top back panel to open the sound up.

Overbuilt, like everyone says, but still not heavy! Best of both worlds.

Playing 35 years, not gonna lug any more twin reverbs around! 2X10 lighweight cab plus a great sounding little head like the Cage is the perfect solution. Best tone of my life. Old time quality work by Mr.Holt. I'll be ordering a 1x15 cab for a clean country/jazz speaker one of these days, and it'll be a Jenkins, no question.

The cabinet can be switched from open to closed back by removing eight screws and a panel that covers about one-third of the cabinet back.
Doug Holt offers a number of speaker/tolex/grill cloth options, so there is probably one for everyone. I opted for an unloaded cabinet with black tolex and black grill cloth.
I put two WeberVST P10Qs in my JSS210.

The cabinet is light, resonant, and compact. I play out weekly using a Dr. Z Route 66 and this cabinet. It has a warm rich tone that compliments my amp and playing style. I can't imagine anything being an improvement on Doug's design and construction.
BTW, Dr. Z doesn't make a 2x10 cabinet (yet).

It's built to last. No squeaks or rattles. The hardware is top-shelf quality. I don't intend to abuse my gear, but it seems like this cabinet would survive on the road, with proper handling.

Doug Holt is one of those guys that makes it a pleasure to buy over the internet. He stands by his word and delivers as promised, on time. He and I exchanged several emails and a couple of lengthy phone calls discussing my order (and a lot of other stuff too). I would not hesitate to order from him again and I highly recommend his cabinets.

I couldn't find a used cabinet (primarily Fender) that was as nice as this one at a similar price.

Doug Holt developed his own original design for a 2x10 cabinet. It's an open back cab which came with two different rear bouts which the user can mount to customize his own sound. The options make this a very versatile cabinet in that I can add bass or tighten the sound depending on what situation I'm playing in. I chose to have Doug load this cab with a pair of reissue Jensen C10Q's. It's covered in my choice of hunter green covering with chrome hardware, stained cane grillcloth and Fender-style handle on top.

The Jensens are very good speakers, and together with Doug's unique approach to the design of the cab it sounds huge. As I said, the option of using different rear bouts is very helpful as well.

As with my 2x12 can that Doug built for me this one is built to last. It's sturdy enough for tough road wear. Doug uses high quality jacks and heavy gauge wire. I'll be playing this cab for years after today's big production cabs take the big dirt nap. I've been using my 2x12 Jenkins cab at about a dozen gigs since I got it, and it's managed to take all the abuse that I can heap upon it without so much as a scratch.

Doug answers emails and phone calls personally. He is Jenkins. You're not going to get stuck in voice mail hell when you call, and if he's not in he'll do what most other manufacturers don't - he'll return your call. His original designs are proof that not all musical equipment designers are stuck in the past. His ported and convertible designs are fantastic and he's also willing to work with you if you've got ideas of your own.

I think you can tell I'm a Jenkins fan, and I am very happy with Doug and his work. I own two of his cabs now, a 2x12 and this new 2x10. I'm going to convince him to build me a 1x15 some time too :-) Doug's cabs are better sounding, looking and sturdier than anything out there yet his prices are also the best. You just won't find a better value out there. I looked everywhere before settling on Jenkins, and if you do your homework you will come to the same conclusion.
