2006 Jenkins Sound Shop 2/12 Speaker Cab. Has 2 80W Weber Thames in it. Green tolex, black grill with white piping.

Sound Quality : 9
Me love metal...running a Peavey 5150 II thru the 2/12 with 80W Weber Thames. It growls, is mean and makes my 3 yr old run...I play assorted 6 strings, Callaham S model, 7 String, humbuckers, P90's...very versatile in my opinion. My head is not the clean of clean but ran the cab thru an Overbuilt 20W and Reeves 50W and it chimed sweetly.

Reliability : 8
Been playing it for 2 yrs, granted low hours, thus the 8, as it was basically in storage due to apt living. Brought it out a month ago and of course is pristine looking and sounding.

Customer Support : 10
Doug Holt is the owner/operator and is a pleasure to work with. I never had a custom built anything and he was very patient and easy to work with. Responsive and he hones in on what you are looking for.

Overall Rating : 10
Unless Zakk Wylde or Mark Morton could build this cab and personally deliver, setup and give me a few lessons all ratings would be 10 I suppose. But all in all this is why you gotta love buying American from the owner. Jenkins is real good.

Jenkins 2x12 cab the older model (bought used via e-bay took a BIG Chance and WOW !! -- (deeper and shorter) which is why I wanted it -- more low end . 2 Weber Ceramic speakers one Blue 50w and one Silver Bell 50w --- AWESOME !!! Rough Blonde Tolex and Oxblood Grill. FLAWLESS AND GORGEOUS Construction INSIDE and OUT !!!!
Optional open back upper or closed back --- What an INCREDIBLE feature !!! Especially in studio !!!!!

Sound Quality : 10
WOW !!!!! This is THE 2x12 Cab !!! I have played em all and thought I would never get around a 4x12 . I have tried Bogner 2x12 (love their 4x12) Dr Z didn't like at all and the Zinky which had great low end but the Weirdest projection I have heard. This cab resonates incredibly and although I strongly prefer the closed back for the low end and being able to turn up my Blonde Bassman 2 notches higher I spent a couple DAYS a-b-ing it with the upper hatch open that is how AWESOME this thing is . I tried other 1/4 or 1/2 open backs and never liked em till this one -- A GREAT option for studio cuz live there are too many screws to remove ---- 2 of these cabs live would be ideal though !! (one open one closed) The Webers are UNREAL !!! I don't like my speakers to do the driving and the Weber 50w ceramics are Perfect. Most Musical I have ever had in Twenty plus years of Playing. Speaking of which I think my search has ended with this set-up-- Don Grosh Stelly , '61 Blonde Bassman head with RARE Tube Recto and the Jenkins ! See Reliability and Customer Support for more Det's on sound !!!

Reliability : 9

I own 2 Jenkins Cabs a 2X12 with Weber C12s and C12B speakers whicjh I liked so much that I bought a 1X12 to house an EV SRO to use with a Fuchs ODS 50.

The cab is expertly finished in Burgundy Tolex with a Cane Grill. It's really an attractive looking cab. The fit and finish is impeccable. High quality birch plywood, top notch hardware and the wiring internally is expert.

I've owned this cab for 4 years now and it has performed flawlessly and still looks as good as the day the guy in the brown truck dropped it off.

Sound Quality : 10
I have used this cab with a variety of amps. 68 Bassman, 1980s Bedrock Lead 50, JCM 800, THD Univalve and it works great with all of them. When playing el34 based amps I tend to put the removable back panel on, when playing through a 6L6 amp I tend to leave the back off. The British flavored Webers respond perfectly to both types of amp. They give a nice warm overtone to a clean amp, but can crunch with the best of them when driven by a Marshall.

My music styles are mainly blues or classic rock based.

Reliability : 10
I've owned this cab for 4 years and it is as tight as the day I first plugged into it. High quality materials and top notch workmanship.

Customer Support : 10
Doug Holt is Jenkins Sound Shop. He goes way above and beyond the call of duty to satisfy his customers needs. He'll work with you to spec out the best cab and speaker combo for your needs. He also has a wide variety of tolex and grill cloth options so you can match darn near any head ever made.

This is one company that stands 100% behind their product.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing guitar for over 30 years and fortunately I can afford any cab in the market. The only ones I'll buy from now on will have a Jenkins Sound Shop emblem on the front.

This is a new JSS 212 cabinet loaded with a Weber C12B and C12S. The stereo toggle switch was included free of charge.
removable 1/3 back panel. rear loaded speakers.

Sound Quality : 10
i want to be able to switch between a big clucky strat SRV sound to a Van Halen 1 kind of sound. the cab this one replaced could only do one thing. this one covers much more ground.
the bass response is VERY big in this cab, which i love. i would say the emphasis is on the lows and low mids rather than on the highs.
The Weber B&S compliment each other nicely in this setup.

Reliability : 9
it is new, so i have no response other than i took a good look around inside and am very confident that the construction is solid throughout.
i can see the future possibility of the stereo/mono toggle switch getting wiggled loose and needing a tightening, but that is a stretch. i like the thick rubber feet on the bottom better than those metal disc "gliders" that you often find under amps and cabs.

Customer Support : 10
even if this cab had arrived and had been mediocre in quality(which was NOT the case), i would likely buy again from Jenkins just based on the superior service i received from Doug Holt. On my initial call, while it was ringing, i had to switch over to take another incoming call. later, Doug got my number off his callerID and called me back on his dime. from the start, he acted like a good friend of mine and was free with expert advice in helping me choose my cabinet and speakers.
as he is becoming rather busy these days, he quoted me 7 weeks leadtime, but shipped me cab in a mere 4-1/2 weeks! the item was carefully packed and arrived in mint condition. he communicated with me throughout.

Overall Rating : 10
you expect to pay a lot for a custom cabinet, but the value here is excellent considering the quality of the product and the outstanding service!

I bought this cab in new condition off of ebay for $250 (shipping included. New, they run for like $315 + $25 shipping. This is a JSS 2x12 that I loaded with celestion G12-T75s. It is only a mono cabinet and doesn't have indepedence selection. It does, however, offer the choice of a closed back or open back design. Though I haven't utilized this option (mainly because of the inordinate amount of screws in the back), it is, nonetheless, nice. The Tolex job is incredible, but still not near as nice as leather.

Sound Quality : 9
I am using a Carvin SC90s with a Tony Iommi in the bridge and a 57 Classic + in the neck through an EL-84 VHT Pitbull 50/st. I am using the T-75s because of their tight bass response. The sound of this cabinet is nice: great high end response, good mid range (good, not great, because of my speaker choice), and a surprising amount of low end. It takes a lot of bass to make this amp fart out. This is the best 2x12 I have heard, though, I haven't heard Mesas offering yet. I'll give it a 9 because it is fabulous, but nothing close to my 4x12.

Reliability : No Opinion
The Tolex job is, again, first rate. I got it unloaded, so I looked inside, and the craftsmanship seems first rate. Still, I haven't have it long enough to really say. It weighs 40 pounds without speakers and about 60 with; so it's no lightweight.

Customer Support : 10
Their web site is great. They seem to really care about their product.

Overall Rating : 8
I love this cab. It nearly captures the sound of a 4x12 while weighing much less. On top of this, it looks great. My current 4x12 weighs 100 pounds, and I neither have the room in my truck nor the strength in my back to haul it everywhere with me; so I know this will be my main can. Personally, though, I find it hard justifying more than $450 for a 2x12, when quality 4x12s sell for $600-800. Granted, I did not buy this amp as a cheaper alternative to a 4x12, but rather, as a more portable alternative. Still, Mesa sells a similar cab for $500 with celestion V30s and a leather instead of tolex covering. If you were to buy this cab with Cekestion G12H-30s, it would be $50 more. So if this were lost or stolen, I might get a Mesa. Both cabs are still cheaper than the Bogner 2x12s.

Original design 2-12 cabinet with a 1/3 panel that can be removed for an open back sound. I ordered green tolex with brown/beige grille cloth and a 4/16 ohm switch. I'm using it with a Fender Twin (mounted in a Mojo head cab), but I also use it with a THD Univalve--sounds great with both. I also want to check this thing out with a Marshall plexi or JTM45 as well (thus the 16 ohm capability).

Sound Quality : 10
The rave reviews below and on the Weber VST site are all true. These are what brought me to Jenkins. This cab is perfect for me with the panel out, as I use it in small clubs. I play in a 10-piece old school funk band, and need a fat clean tone. It's great for that. I also love heavy crunch tones and want to get back into a rock thing because this rig does that so well too. It's got big (but not muddy) bass and a lot of presence. Well balanced, thick, fat, whatever your favorite terms...it's all there!

Reliability : 10
Heavy duty. Great hardware. REALLY WELL BUILT! I don't need another cabinet, but want to buy one of Doug's 2-10s to have a smaller one.

Customer Support : 10
Everything they say about Doug is true. He spent a lot of time with me and you can really tell he cares. Awesome guy with no head trips...just quality service. I don't have any idea what the warranty is and am sure I'll never need to find out.

Overall Rating : 10
You don't need to hear about me and my gear. Call Doug. Order a cabinet.

The cab has a black tolex covering with a wicker grill. The corners have metal protective coverings and the bottom of the cab has 4 large rubber feet. The back of the cab has 2 removable panels with a large number of screws to keep them firmly in place. The removable rear panels are a good idea in case you want to run this cab with an open back or a semi-closed configuration. I ordered 2 30 watt Weber P12B alnico's since i've fallen in love with the 15 watt celestion alnico blue that i have in my sf deluxe reverb. The speakers are of the 8 ohm variety and are wired in parallel ( which translates into a 4 ohm speaker cab ).

Sound Quality : 10
This is the first closed back cab i have ever bought or have played with extensively so my rating must be taken with that in mind. I play thru a mesa nomad 55 2x12 combo that has a 3/4 partially closed back. To me the rock sound left a lot to be desired. Namely the sound was never tight enough! Playing thru the Jenkins cab solved this problem and more. Compared to the Jenkins w/P12B's the mesa speakers sounded like they had a wet blanket covering the speakers (the high end was never high enough and the low end was never tight enough). The clarity and detail of the Jenkins with P12B's just amazed me. At high volume the nomad's normally grainy sound smoothed out. I'm not sure if that is the result of the amp being opened up or the alnico in the speaker mag's freaking out (probably a little of both). Whatever it is I like it. I play mostly rock and surf with a 61 gibson melody maker (w/Tony Iommi humbucker) and a 97 fender american standard strat. The cab sounds wonderful with either guitar. I typically play Black Sabbath, Smashing Pumpkins, Hendrix, Cream, Judas Priest, and surf type music.

Reliability : 10
It's a cab. There is not much that can go wrong in it. The fit and finish of the cab is excellent.

Customer Support : 10
I communicated with Doug via email and he always responded promptly. Bottom line is that he delivered when he said he would and with what i asked for.

Overall Rating : 10
I considered buying a mesa 2x12 cab or a soldano 2x12 but they all have V30 speakers. For about the same price as the soldano cab i got exactly what i wanted in a much better looking cab than the soldano. In my opinion if you're trying to play rock thru a open back combo (like i tried) you'll never get "the" rock sound. You gotta try a closed back cab.

Year 2000 2x12 cab loaded with Weber Blue Dog Speakers. Cabinet is made of birch plywood, black tolex covered with wicker grill, heavy duty corners and large rubber feet. Cabinet is wired for stereo or mono operation which is controlled by a heavy duty switch. Cabinet can also be configured as an opened or closed back.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a mixture of guitars and amps through this cab. For guitars I own two Gibson LP Customs, a G&L Legacy, and a homemade FrankenStrat.
The Gibson?s use stock 490 PU's. The Legacy is currently loaded with Fender SRV PU's. The FrankenStrat uses EMG SA's. For amps I use a Marshall JTM45 reissue head, a Mesa Boogie Blue Angel head, and a Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue combo. This cabinet suites my musical style very well. I play blues fusion. Depending on what combination of guitar/amp I amp using, I can coax so many beautiful sounds out of this cabinet that it would take a book to describe. Because of that, I will focus on one of my favorites. The setup is a '69 Gibson LP Custom going into a SansAmp Classic into a MXR Distortion+ into the Marshall JTM45 into the Jenkins cab. Playing with the effects turned off directly into the JTM45, this cab delivers the sweetest, chimiest, jangliest sound you ever heard. The sound is BIG and LUSH, and makes you never what to put down the guitar. Its funny but the first time I played the cab, it was using this configuration. After about fifteen minutes of banging on some chords, I almost felt this freaken cab was alive. The way the air was moving thru and around it was amazing. It was like it was breathing or something. Possibly speaking. Moving on, with the SansAmp Classic on, I am able to produce a much darker sound. I use this sound for those really sustany leads and slow melodic phrases. The cab produces this dark tone without losing the chirpiness of the LP Custom. What you are left with is a tone which moody but vibrant. Just amazing. From there I will kick on the MXR to add just a hair of fuzz. From here on out the cab is just plain gutsy and badass. I am able to produce some of the greatest rhythm sounds by just rolling off the volume knob and if I leave the volume at full, the room fills with the thickest tone available.

Reliability : 10
This cabinet looks indestructible. Its very well made. Upon receiving it, I did a detailed inspection of it and found no flaws. The speakers were installed professionally as was the wiring.

Customer Support : 10
I corresponded with Doug via email when I ordered this cabinet.
No complaints.

Overall Rating : 10
I bought this cabinet for my home studio and playing live gigs. I went with a 2x12 mostly because of convenience in hauling and space limitations. At the time when I bought it, I felt like I was taking a chance since I never heard of Jenkins cabs before. About six months have gone by since I received the cabinet and I am enjoying it more than ever. Its really opened my eyes as to what a properly engineered cabinet can do for your tone. I am happy that I took that chance. I have been playing for around 17 years now. If it were lost or stolen I would buy another in a heartbeat. Its a great product that is making me a better player.

This cabinet is very fresh (2 weeks old). It is rough black tolex with oxblood grillcloth. The specifics are on the JSS website, the cabinet I received was flawless in looks, and very sturdy in construction. It even absorbed a bit of modification I had to make to accomodate odd sized speakers. It has a flexible option of being a closed cab or you can remove the top back panel. You can see that they know how to build a quality product and use quality components to do so. Its a beatiful cabinet right down to the classy Jenkins logo. I dont give out 10s easy, this is not a pass. It is earned and you will see them right down the line. It is earned in this category because is is superbly built, is flexible, and give me all that I want in a cab.

Sound Quality : 10
Here is the real reason to buy a Jenkins. I have dropped 2 8 ohm custom Fane speakers to match with my Harry Joyce 50 and it sounds soooo good. Great response in all ranges. I have also played a 73 Marshall 50, and a Traynor YSR-1 and MKIII with stunning results. There are no vibrations even when pushed. The 10 here is earned because it gives me the tone I hoped for.

Reliability : No Opinion
I havent had it long enough to judge this, but feel confident it will pass the test. Its very well made.

Customer Support : 10
Here is where I need an 11. I called because my speaker did not line up to the pre-drilled holes. They are custom Fanes and have a different rim. Doug was calm and said "dont worry, we will work through this and get you set". He did, and this happened the day after a TORNADO hit his neighborhood. He also steered me towards an incredibly awesome color scheme. After dealing with UPS and companies that just dont give a shit, what a relief it was to deal with Doug. Again, earned a 10 and I suspect that my 210 will be just as nice.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for a 25 years with a great deal of time off in between. I have been at it hard for the last 2 or 3. I have owned and tried a ton of gear and will run everything from my Harry Joyce 50 to a Fuchs OD supreme modified Traynor through this cab. I just wish I had the room and funds to buy more and try lots of different speakers through the cab. If something happened to this I would be on the phone to Doug in a hearbeat. He has earned a loyal customer here. Top notch quality, craftmanship, and support.

2x12, Black smooth tolex, wheat grille. Heavy duty rubber feet, solid handle, very tight removeable back panel. Really beautiful indeed. Lighter than many 2x12 cabs I shopped, but seems to have the structural integrity of something much heavier, if that makes sense.

Sound Quality : 9
Contains a Weber C12S and a C12N, for good American muscle with a sprinkling of greasy chime. This seems to be much more than a box for the speakers though. Very lively, lots of personality, it speaks and has opinions - but never in the way. Just draws the best stuff out of my Rivera Quiana head. I really feel Doug puts a lot of love into these cabs, and there is sonic vibe there to show for it.

Reliability : No Opinion
Not gonna worry about this thing one bit. But I know Doug would be ready with any help I might need. I've had it less than a year.

Customer Support : 10
The gold standard. Off the scales accomodating. Had multiple conversations with Doug during the process, and he offered his opinions and expertise to get me exactly what I needed down to the last stitch. Doug did 2 follow up calls to ensure it was perfect for my situation! Props also to Weber VST for getting the C12S to Doug so quickly.

Overall Rating : 10
I have to have this butter-bomb of a cabinet. Jenkins will get all my cab business, without a second thought.
