I am the very happy owner of serial #1 Jenkins Sound Shop Highway 61 112 cabinet. I originally ordered the Jenkins 112, but Doug Holt asked if I could be patient, because he had a new design he was completing, and he would make mine for no additional charge. This is a single 12 cab with the removable 1/4 back panel. It features the Highway 61 cosmetics (used to available only as a 212), and is a minor design modification from the original JSS112 cab. It is all black tolex, with black hardware. I understand that Doug has discontinued the black hardware, as there aren't many requests for it, but he found some for me and it looks killer. The front has a black tolex 1/4 panel with dark gray piping, and a chrome "Jenkins" logo placed in the center of the front 1/4 panel. The construction is flawless. I understand this one is to be the cab shown on the Jenkins web site in the future. The tolex is fitted like a glove, and there isn't a hint of a fold or wrinkle on any of the corners. This cab is striking in the all black, and I'm going to hate taking it out, but that's what it's for.

I play a Fuchs converted Bassman head, and have long gone past the need for a wall of speakers. A single 12 does it just fine for me. I bought an EV-12L speaker for the Jenkins cab, and the marriage between amp, speaker and cab is pure sex. There is a richness in the Fuchs clean channel when playing a Les Paul that is deep and round, with no flub or fart. Highs are sparkling clear, and the entire fretboard sounds very balanced. The Strat just rips with this setup and the OD kicked in, but settles into that beautiful clear clean a Strat gives you when in the normal channel. This cab gives me so much more performance out of the Fuchs that I wish I had done this a long time ago. Fuchs+Jenkins+EV-12L=Muthaf@%#*er!

Reliability : 10
Build quality is unsurpassed. Could not possibly be unreliable.

Doug Holt is absolutely the best. Be aware you're getting in line to buy a superior product made by a company with a superior attitude. They only make so many, so fast, and the wait is going to be worth it. Doug answers emails very quickly, and is very good about returning phone calls. Tell him what you want, and that's what you'll get. Be sure you have a jackhammer available when the cab arrives. It's packed to protect from anything short of a nuclear blast.

I've been playing 35 years, and am basically a ham fisted suburban yuppie blueser. For the occasional notes I actually hit, I care passionately that they sound good. This rig is the best sound I've ever had, and the Jenkins is a big part of the reason. These cabs are going to become the hottest thing going for tone freaks. I'd get an order in soon if I were you. http://www.jenkinssoundshop.com/
