My Jenkins SS112 cab is a couple of years old. I called Doug and asked him if he had any in stock and he did. I bought it. Sturdy Fender type handle, typical corner hardware, heavy duty rubber feet and wiring supplied to output jack. A little bulky for a 1x12. The removable back pieces are particle board not plywood. I am sure it is a cab that would also fit a 2x12. My biggest complaint is that Jenkins could have gone the distance with some nice chrome or stainless screws instead of the black drywall screws which show inside the cab. Come on Doug. A beautiful cab deserves a nice detail such as that. Drywall screws?

I have used the cab with a variety of small, low powered amps. The 65' Fender Tremolux head and a Blk face Princeton Reverb (custom head )sound very good through this cabinet. The Princeton sounds so much bigger and toneful than it did in it's original combo cab. Those of you who do not gig out with a Princeton Reverb, or similsr amp, because it is too small are missing the boat! Try a nice cabinet. It is a little bass heavy for my ears but lifting it off the floor helps.

Not much to go wrong. Built very well and seems very strong. It looks good and the tolex seems pretty tough.

Doug answered my emails and shipped it out when he said he would. Also offered me a very good deal on a Celestion speaker which was already mounted in the cab for someone else. My gain.

Been using (gigging)the cabinet for a couple of years and it looks like new. No problems. If I found myself without it for some reason I might look at a slightly smaller cabinet. I might also go for a solid pine cab instead plywood. Over all it is a good looking cabinet that performs well.

This is a Jenkins Sound Shop 1x12 speaker cab. It has a black Fender type tolex with a Doctor Z, "Salt-N-Pepper" grill cloth. The specifics at the Jenkins web site. It really is a very stunning cab and is quite heavy duty.

It was shipped to me without a speaker. I installed a Celestian "Blue Bulldog" speaker that was purchased from a separate dealer. It has the options of open or closed backs, which is a helpful feature. The guitar/amp combinations I use with this cab are as follows: a PRS Custom 22 Artist and THD Univalve/Dr Z Maz. The cab has a very full sound, with clear highs and tight bass.

This is where I have had problems. The cab arrived packaged well, but after unpacking, I had to spend about an hour cleaning it up. It was covered in Tolex glue, and had some type of dirt over the entire cab. Ever tried cleaning Tolex glue off a cab? Believe me, it's not much fun! The Jenkins web site say all wiring for the speaker comes ready to go with the cab. Mine came with two bare wires- not a large problem, but it required a trip to the music store to buy a pair of connectors. The real problem is as follows: I had the cab stored in my office (temperature controlled environment) for about two months, enclosed in a LeCover heavy-duty cover. The cab had less than an hour playing time on it and was never gigged or taken out of my office. The bottom seams of the Tolex came loose and the Tolex inside of the cab came loose and rolled back. Iv'e heard a lot about Jenkins quality and reliability, so this experience was surprising. For a cab that is advertised as high quality (factory seconds are supposedly destroyed according to the web site), I was disappointed. In my opinion, the quality/reliability of this cab was sub-standard.

Doug Holt, the owner of Jenkins is a nice guy. He had good communication concerning the problems I was having with my cab. I did send the cab back and he fixed it. The cab wound up costing me an additional 90.00 however, because of shipping costs. Jenkins was not interested in re-imbursing me for the shipping costs I incurred. I have only had to send a piece of high end gear back once due to initial problems that were not my fault. Musicians Friend promptly re-imbursed me for my shipping costs when the problems occured. If you look at the Jenkins web-site, there is no mention of a guarantee or policy of satisfaction. I thought Jenkins could have gone the extra mile and payed for my shipping costs- I believe that most dealers of sound reputation would have done this. In the high end guitar/amp business, customer service is king and you build relationships of trust with people. Nice people are not hard to find- more difficult to find are people who back up their words with action.

I've played guitar for 25 years and have enjoyed every minute. I tend to have fewer pieces of gear and concentrate on buying higher quality items. If the Jenkins were lost or stolen, I would not replace it. I would buy a Dr Z or Bogner cab from an establihed dealer that has written policies of satisfaction and is 100 per cent committed to the customer. Lets face it, there is high competetion among cab manufacturers. Buyer beware and remember: "You pay for what you get, but you don't always get what you pay for".

1X12 cabinet. I`ve tried Celestions and an EVM12L in it. The cab itself is light, but is built like a tank. Best of both worlds. I`ve played blues, rock, and top 40 through this, and it handled it well with each speaker change.

I`ve used this with a JTM45, Fuch Overdrive Supreme, Dr Z Route 66, and a Marshall DSL 50. Just pop in a different speaker and maybe open the back. Fits like an old pair of socks. This may be one of the only "one size fits all" cabs out there. That is if your looking for a 1X12.

The best part of Jenkins customer support, is that you will never need it. Period. Just tell Doug what you want and you`ll get it right the first time.

I`ve been at this for over 30yrs and can honestly say this guy builds some great stuff. The only drawback is that he is catching on and can`t keep up with the demand. I`m really happy for Doug, but I`m a bit impatient, and just can`t wait a month or two if I have an urge for a new cab. However, I tried a new builder, who shall remain nameless, and I think I`m going to have to learn some patience. The side by side comparison was testimony as to why Doug is so busy. Flawless workmanship without attitude or inflated ego is what will make this man a legend.
