Features : 10
12 Inch raw driver. 15 ounce magnet. Narrow doping on the cone. Used them to replace some cheap Chinese drivers I had in an *old* Avatar 4x12 cab. The cab was great for bass guitar, but sucked for a guitar cab. The great thing is that with the small magnets, the whole cab is a lot lighter and easier on my 50 year old back!

Sound Quality : 10
Using it with a Mesa Heartbreaker head. With my Gibsons, it's got a great clear sound, nice slighty woody tone, with not overbearing breakup with distortion. Nice and fat. With my Strat (formerly my *least* fav guitar), they really shine! Nice and chimey without the icepick highs, great bass response. I have been an Eminence man for many years now, but I think I have been converted to Jensen! They really sound a lot like the Greenbacks.

Reliability : 10
I have driven them hard for many hours now, and they haven't farted out yet.

never had to contact them

I think these speakers are awesome for the price. Great tone. The price is going up almost daily now. They were once a great steal (I have a 4x10 cab with Mod 50s that rocks, too - gave about 25 bucks a piece for them several years ago). Great tone, great price (for now).

It's a 12 inch guitar speaker. It looks much different from celestion speakers, but sounds much like a celestion vintage speaker. The Magnet seems comparatively small. One nice effect of this is: the speaker is a leight weight device. Might save you back troubles.

Sound Quality : 10
Anonymous with his appraising article from 02/09/07 is just right. I read the two reviews beneath before I ordered a couple of these speakers. The idea was to replace them in an old 212 Box. Now that box is equipped with the two celestions from my two hughes & kettner combos (edition one and thirty), and the jensens are in the combos.
Big surprise: the celestions were wonderful, yet the jensens sound alright! Real vintage tone for lovers of vintage rock like free, humble pie, led zep - you name 'em. I'm not sure, if they are quite as loud as the rock driver juniors from celestion. They're quite loud enough for jamming and rehearsing. Considering the price should give 'em a 10.

Reliability : No Opinion
Like I mentioned above, they're o.k.for rehearsing and jamming. We do vintage rock with a touch of heavy metal sometimes. For live gigging I prefer miking the speaker with a sure 57 (or was it 58? the classical guitar speaker microphone that is).

I can't afford "top notch" gear and got to get used to compromising. I found it essential not to compromise with speakers. You love vintage rock - it ought to be a celestion 35 or rock driver junior or vintage 30 ... Yet I like these jensens. I would buy them again anytime I want to replace a not quite satisfying guitar speaker. My 212 box sounds shit by the way. It can't be the speakers, they're excellent, looks like the build of a box is essential to the sound, too. Yet I'm too lazy to put the celestions back into my hughes and kettners. With the jensens in 'em now they still sound as excellent to me like they used to with their original rock driver junior or 35 respectively.

35w rms 12" speaker currently made by Jensen. No features as compared to all other speakers. Just a bare speaker, no cab included.

Sound Quality : 4
I'm not really impressed with the sound of this speaker. It seems like a speaker that hasn't broken in yet, but it hasn't improved in two years!

I bought this to replace an old Bogen 12" speaker I was using for my Harmony H-400. I had heard some Jensen's in the past, and I figured this ought to be pretty good. It does the job, but has no character to it. It's very bland. The Harmony is EXTREMELY picky as to the speaker you use with it, as it has no tone controls and no negative feedback. The only way to change the sound is to change the guitar, or the speaker. I use it for warm-up, and for evaluation.

I've used it with my 100w Marshall JCM-800, and it does ok, but again, bland. Bass is present, but still lacking. I'm not expecting the sound of a 4x12 from a single 12, but it definately could to better. It doesn't have enough breakup when pushed. It refuses to become interesting. My last hope for it would be as a 2x12, driven by a Fender, but I don't think it'd cut even there! Maybe a Peavey?

Reliability : 10
No issues at all. I've run it with some decent volume with a 100w Marshall and lots of bass. Keeps on trucking! The speaker doesn't seem fragile in any way. Thick durable cone. (Probably why it has no character)

As a side note (not rating this part), I've got a pair of some real Jensen's from 1957 that are backing me up every week. No issues at all.

Haven't delt with Jensen.

If you're looking for a 12" circular device that puts out sound that's reliable and low priced, look no further. There may be some situations that this speaker shines, but I haven't found it yet.

If you're looking for some tone, see if you can pick up a real Jensen off Ebay. They also have their vintage line (which I haven't tried). Or, check out Ted Weber.

Traditional 12" low power guitar speaker claims to be a combination of modern and vintage "British" speakers...Yea OK it does..

Sound Quality : 9
Ploped this in my old Kustom I Lead amp..replaced stock no name speaker.
BIG improvement..the amp sounded OK previously..but the low end was unfocused, and distortion was very brittle..this took care of that.. nice bottom now with chimy top, distortion is much better. Using a MIM Classic 60's Strat..

Reliability : 8
Solid performer, and this amp can push it a bit. Speaker is rated 35RMS/ 70 peak and so is the amp. Many people like to use a speaker with double the amp power, but I find this is a bit too stiff sounding for my vintage leanings. I do keep the amp below 3/4 though..

Orderd from TUBE Stop..came quick..can't say much else

Overall Rating : 8
This is a nice budget speaker that can really improve a low end amp..if you have a older/tired amp that you like try one of these before you dump it. Considerd a Celestion Rocket. but this was a bit cheaper.

15oz magnet 35w 12" guitar speaker

Sound Quality : 9
Playing a 77 Gibson LP Custom and a 59 Gibson Melody Maker. The sound is exactly what I was looking for. I have this in a single 12" closed back cab that is plugged into my little Marshall G15RCD amp..don't laugh..it's a killer little amp. After some adjustment I'm getting the great hard rock sound that I wanted out of this setup. It breaks up at perfectly higher volumes and maintains an excellent clean sound at lower volumes. The speaker is WAY better than I expected. Sounds as every bit as good as the same setup with Greenback or V30 speakers that I tried in there, actually more to my liking than either of them..and it was only $31!!

I would like to have 4 of these in a 4x12 cab with a Marshall 100w head, I'm sure it would be awesome

Reliability : 10
I'n my 40 years of playing I've owned a lot of amps/cabs with Jensen speakers and they always performed flawlessly with no problems

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them..never had to

Overall Rating : 9
Like I said earlier, I've played for 40 years, have owned dozens of guitars and amps. I would buy this speaker again in a flash, it is the best value I've seen in speakers in a long time. I think it might be even better in an open back cab, or at least I'd like to try it.
