I have used these speakers in an old bandmaster 2X12 cabinet as replacements for the original Jensen C12N's which needed cones after 40 years. Jensen still make the C12N but I thought this model might be worth it for a try. Specially since I plan on running the cab with a JTM head!! The new MOD70 sounds beautifully balanced when clean unlike say some Celestion's G12T75 (no mids) or Vintage30 (all mids!) GB12's (no highs) I have tried.

Um, 40 years isn't bad.

These MOD's are pretty damned hard to beat all round for any MUSICAL style. I have tried other speakers with a variety of amps, and these are a great speaker series. I even swapped them out for some 70th Anniversary G12H but soon put them back again.
Clean, clear and articulare. Like an American tweedy clean sound almost typical early 60's Jensen until you crank the gain up which reveals a beautiful bit of British high gain raunch. They let your guitar and amp shine through without overly coloring the sound to the extreme like some other major speaker manufacturers models do.

Amazing. My budget prevented me from getting celestions but I found these speakers (12" model, 75 watt) on the web for an unbelievable $46.00 each!! Very loud, clear with great response and warmth...

I have been playing for about 8 years now and play loud punk rock and other related types of music....Im very happy with these speakers and would buy them again if I had too. They retail for about $70 a piece, but if you just look around on the net you can easily shave another $25 off of that....Celestions be damned!!
