Have played my Ibanez AEF18NT (Acoustic/Electric) and Gretsch 3150 through this little unit at home.

For such a small 15 watt amp, this thing can ROCK! I went to the music store expecting to buy a Dean Markley or Fender...but this unit blew those away for overall sound and value. I compared the sound to those units, as well as a mini Marshall and VOX unit in the same size....and the Johnson JA-015 stood head and shoulders above the others.

The guy in the store (albiet un-shaven, un-groomed and smelly) really knew what he was talking about when he suggested that I try this amp. He was also amazed by the amount of volume that this little unit can put out.

The overdrive sounds pretty good; no complaints from me....although tweakers may want something more like the Dean Markley for punk, thrash, Social sound. For everything else, this Johnson does the job sufficiently. Definitely worth the bucks -- even for small gigs or at home.

Reliability : 9
No problems so far -- had it for 2 years. Top of the line Johnson amps run pretty expensive, so I would imagine that is a good sign...and an indication that they know what they are doing.

This unit is built pretty tough; better than some of the others I mentioned above.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

I believe this unit is out of production, BUT there are plenty of new units around for sale -- anywhere from $59 and up.

If you are in the market for a small amp, you can't go wrong with this unit.

Go to a store that has them and check it out for yourself. Compare to others and you'll hear the difference!

Worth every penny; especially if you are on a budget. Gigs at parties or at home...this unit does the job.
