This amp is a 22 watt combo with one 15" speaker. I use it for country, blues, soul, and a little bit of jazz. As far as format goes, it a single channel rig with '63 style reverb. At the first one-third of volume, it stays clean, and it gets better from there starting off a little bluesy and moving up to spitting snarl. I have played it in venues ranging from coffee house to concert halls of 500.It's 6v6,s cover most of the places that I play. In a stadium enviroment, which I have played, I would probably get a larger amp, but for the average venue, it's great. Oh, and did I mention it's completely hand-wired with first-class components.

I have used a fender b-bender with '51 reissues in it, and an old Fender pedal steel, but am currenly using an american deluxe strat with fat 50's. It works great in all pickup positions except the bridge. In my personal opinion, it runs a little harsh on the top end, but overall it lives up to it's namesake with 1'st class performance.

I have had some problems with reliability, a think that is probably connected to the fact that I use NOS tubes, and I travel a lot with it. I use it live 4 times a week, aside from hours and hours of rehearsal.I think a new stock set of tubes would definitely put to sleep any reliability issues

The blues master has a 5-year warranty that covers everything from tubes to tolex. Don Jones does the repairs himself. I live 50 miles away, and take the amp to him myself. He does all the installation and re-biasing for free.

I've owned this amp for almost a year, and it's awesome. If this amp were stolen, I would call Jones and get him building another one before I made the police report.I have played new amps and old alike. Unless you want to invest in an original '59 bassman, I would challenge you to find anything better, especially for the money.

I just took delivery of my new Jones Bluesmaster head teamed with a 3 10" closed back speaker cabinet loaded with Emminence alnico blue speakers like my first Fender Vibro King had. The amp is a real sweetie. The Bluesmaster is 22 watts all tube and is a straight single channel amp without the dreaded master volume. There are controls for bass, middle, and treble. The reverb features a big tank with controls for mix, dwell, and tone and is remarkably pleasant sounding and musical. The amp is ideal in situations where you want an amp to talk to you without being stupid loud. As the Blues Master volume control goes over half it never gets any louder it just breaks up more. It is really easy to make it break up via picking dynamics, and backing off on guitar volume cleans it right up. The amp is really warm and fat which I attribute at least in part to the closed back speaker cabinet. Also really cool is the dark green tolex and grill cloth with gold piping. It looks different from everything else yet it is really classy looking. It has an auxiliary AC plug on the back which is great for providing AC power for my tuner. Another neat thing that matters a lot to me is it is remarkably light weight. At loading time you've got two easy pieces to carry. Don Jones built the Blues Master exactly like I asked and I couldn't be more pleased with the end product. I have had nothing but positive comments regarding the tone and the look. If you like "tube tone" and have no need to blow the walls down with volume you couldn't make a better choice in amplifiers.

I've got three Fender Stratocasters all loaded with Fender Fat 50's pickups. I play blues, some jazz, and rock and roll.

I haven't had it long enough to know how problem free it will be. In that it is pretty straight forward in design and hand made in execution I can't see any reason to be concerned. Jones amps are as reliable as any other tube amp out there.

Don Jones is eager to please and incorporated every one of my requests in the amp. I don't know how he does it but he does it. He was easy to work with in that you knew he wasn't going to go home with hurt feelings if you wanted something changed. For instance, he changed the auxiliary AC plug on the back so a wall wart could be plugged in to it. His response to that request was, "OK", and it was done. Just the way it should be in a custom amplifier.

I've been playing for over 40 years. I've got a whole collection of vintage amps but my favorite three "player" amps are the Jones Blues Master, a limited edition 2003 brown/wheat Fender Vibro King, and a 1965 Fender Pro Reverb. I've also got an old Supro Thunbderbolt with a 15" I love for slide. The Blues Master really fits a slot of a great sounding amp that comes alive at a lot lower volume than a Vibro King, and I love the light weight two piece design.
