In 1999 I asked Don Jones to build me an amp based on a 59 bassman. We colaborated and decided on 45watt 6l6gc power tubes. It is a two channel amp all point to point assembled. Since I play electric blues, classic rock and acoutic music,I wanted a versitile combo that would work well with both. Don built the basic amp 4 inputs,2 channels Normal and bright,Treble,Mid, Bass, and presence. Then we assembled the tone stack. He nailed the blues/rock tone with 12ax7 preamp tubes. When we plugged in my acoutic it Don changed 2 of the tubes to 12u7 and 12at7 after adjusting the EQ on the amp the acoutic sound was just louder. Got it nailed.

Don used the guitars I play when voicing the amp and choosing the right speakers for the project. My primary guitar being one I built for slide playing a tele style with a single humbucking pickup. We used a Larrivee C-10K with a Fishman Matrix preamp for acoutic. With the EQ flat the acoustic is very natural. Change tubes, EQ to 12 presence on 7 Volume on 4 clean loud blues, Volume after 4 gets into overdrive. Great tone great sustain.

I've owned this amp for 4 years now no problems. I've observed Don building amps this entire time. I can honestly state he is devoted to customer service. I recently had Jones install a master volume in my amp. Guess what? No charge! If your not satisfied Jones isn't either.

I've been a player for 32 years, been building and repairing guitars since 1975. Having played 1000's of guitars and amps I couldn't just find one that fit my needs. You might note there is no reverb on this amp, my choosing I love EH Holy Grail for that. All of the EH effects sound great with it. By the way I played through a Jones cloned JTM45 Whoa!!!! Nice.
