I use mine as a guitar amp:)
I'm 26, I play indie pop dark rock with influences including Jimmy Eat World, Sigor Ros, Andrew Bird, Now Now Every Children, One For The Team, Led Zeppelin, Lydia, MGMT, and an assortment of others.
I use a 1990's Alvarez Classis, which i understand lends me no street cred, but holy smokes the single coil in it is...fantastic.
My signal is routed through an array of pedals, of which I'll share just one... An eq pedal is absolutely essential. IMO don't bother without one.
I scrapped the 15" speaker immediately upon buying it and run this through a 4x12 with celestion g12h's and vintage 30's, a 2x12 loaded with greenbacks, an oversized bandmaster 2x12 with crappy eminences, and a sound city 4x10 with vintage jensens. Not simultaneously, i just sometimes am feeling excited about one over another.
I feel this is the tone I've been searching for my whole life.
Very unique, very warm, very throwback sounding, just the most amazing overdrive you've ever heard.
I want to write a terrible review scaring everyone away from these but...
with as happy as its made me, I figure I'll share:)

This amp seems to be pretty straight forward and sounds better loud than quiet. It was given to me so I don't know how old the tubes are in it, or if it has had any major work done. Since I mainly play poppy punk rock type stuff it suits as long as I don't have to be thunderously loud.

The only distortion I get is from the pickup in my bass, a Ibanez gaxb150. I have both knobs fully right, which is pretty much how I set all my amps, guitar and bass. I've just been testing the amp at my house and haven't used it at a gig yet, so I don't know how it will hold up live yet.

I've had it for a couple years but just recently started playing it, I've been playing through my half stack, but need something more transportable. I have had no problems with it yet.

It is very old, so I doubt it has any kind of warranty now, and I can't find any contacts for the company yet.

I've been playing for about 15 years, but mostly guitar. I have a kmd and a marshal guitar head a 2-12 and a 4-12 guitar cabinet, a peavy 212 combo and a fender stage 112. for bass I have a rogue head and a crate cab with 1-18 and 2-10
this seems to be at least as good as any other bass combo I've played, I had a peavy combo 115 that I sold when it started to mess up a while back. the only thing I don't care much about is tubes, I don't like messing with them, they are too tempermental when they get in a mood.

I have used this amp as a slave off of a TubeWorks 4x10 combo and it sounded excellent! The preamp section of the TubeWorks along with the reverb really make this amp sound great! I have ran my guitar into a stereo chorus pedal into a Marshall JCM602 and the TubeWorks 4x10 then
slaving the Kay off the tubeworks. What a huge sound! All amps combined totaled 7 speakers and enough power to knock you down! I have also used this amp for Bass guitar using a Fender Jazz and it has a very nice warm sound. Due to the fact that this amp has only a volume and a tone knob it is very limited to the sound that you will get. It is like adjusting the tone knob on a guitar. Rate this a 5 due to this. But using this amp with effects on the front end or as a slave it will get a really nice sound and it has that Tube Rectifier which gives it a nice compressed tone.

I received this amp from a friend who had it in storage for quite some time. He had taken the tolex off the amp and was going to refinish it, yet, never got around to it. He had said that he had removed some of the tubes and had plans to change them out as he thought that some of them were bad. When I got the amp home I made sure that all the tubes were in the sockets properly and fired it up. As the tubes warmed up a (the usual) loud noise started to come from the speaker. So began the task of finding out which tubes were bad. The 6L6 tubes were fine so I changed out the 7199 and the 5U4G with new SOVTEK tubes. The 5879 was changed with a new old stock PHILLIPS. After doing this it took care of the sound problem. The capacitors are the next project, not that they are bad but due to the age of them amp it is a good idea. A 5 due to the maintenence thus far.

This is a great amp for bass as it gets a nice warm sound and works great for guitar with some effects on the front end. I think I will hold on to this one
