Features : 9
Features: 4 inputs (high/low). Both hi and low are very useable, unlike almost all other amps. The hi just grinds and the low is fat and clean. Use an a/b/y pedal and it is magical!
Tube effects loop with volume, use this as an added preamp tube w/o effetcs and it acts as a lead boost! Also can use a simple switch underneath the chassis to on/off.
Mine has 2 El34 longs in it, but I am pretty sure it can take a few other power tubes. I'm not even a 34 guy (I love 6L6) and this thing is it for me! Gerald would likely make this amp and tweak it the way you want it.

Sound Quality : 10
I have been through tons of amps: vintage Fedners and Marshalls, name a newer boutique maker, odds are I've owned it or tried it.
I stubled across this on a trade, wasn't even looking for it. I was literally awestruck when I played it the first time! I ahve owned this for some months now and it continues to put a smile on my face each and every time I plug in!
The hi input nails a plexi-like OD grind with just the right amount of sag. The low input reminds me of my my blackface Fenders. What else could an amp freak want? Throw an OD or dirty boost on this amp and you are there! Nail many vintage tones and more. The sag is just right on this. I have no clue what he does, but it is magical to my ears. When I got this, I sold sold two MArshall heads and a few Fenders. It is that toneful!
I play maily hard Blues and Classic Rock. I still like to whip out some Shred chops every now and then. With an OD, no probs, think modded plexi once again.
I have played for going on 30 years, in my basement to the large clubs and big outdoor rallies. Anymore I gear the band for outdoor biker rallies. This amp just kills in the band mix! Sings and delivers the goods each and every show.
I primarily play Nash and CS strats, occasional tele, 335, LP, and Jr's. Whatever guitar is plugge din, it is always "the tone" I have wanetd for some years sicne getting into custom gear.

Reliability : 10
Haven't had a problem yet.
Sure Gerald would ake care of it ASAP if anything developed.

I bought this used. I have emailed and called Gerald Weber at Kendrick several times with general questions from tubes to making me another one. He always gets back with me within a day or so and LOVES to talk gear! This says so much about a maker, if they go above and beyond to speak with you and make sure your happy knowing that it is used!

Overall Rating : 7
Above I mentioned that I've played for many years and have always been a gear hound. I make a meager living as a special ed. teacher, but most of my spare cash goes to gear. I could and have owned about every darn amp I ever dreamed of, this is the one I will never sell! If it would get stolen or lost, I would be lost, but heh, things happen and I would nag Kendrick to make me another ASAP!
Think of a killer a MArshall and nice BF Fender. Now take out aspects of those that you don't like, i.e Plexi high sizzle you can't seem to ever dial out, BF too far pushed mids, this amp is the best! Per Value, I think they sell for around $3800 new now, lotsa coin, but if you go through gear like I did, save time and $ and just go this route. At my cost it was a steal, at new cost I would have probably never tried one. But now I would easily buy another if need be.

Product: Kendrick Gusher Head

My Kendrick Gusher is a 50 watt tube amplifier mounted in a tweed trapeziodal shaped cabinet called the Beaumont. The tweed is covered with 3 coats of laquer which is sanded after each coating. This coating takes over a week to apply and finish. It protects the head from liquid spills and gives the Gusher the look of having survived 25+ years of bar playing. There's a hand painted Kendrick emblem on the face along with a round emblem with Texas Crude surrounded by an outline of the state of Texas.
The top mounted dual non channel switching controls are:Vol.Normal; Vol.Bright; Treble; Bass; Middle; and Presence followed by a green jewel pilot light; standby switch; on/off switch; 3 amp fuse holder and ground switch. Each channel has 2 inputs which can be bridged like a tweed bassman or plexi.
There are 2 Tesla EL34 power tubes; 4 pre amp tubes and a hand wound Port Arthur rectifier that is solid state and runs parallel with a rectifier tube. On the underside of the chassis, there is a fixed(loud) and cathode (compressed/spongey) switch and a slider switch that activates the 4th pre amp tube for extra beef. The extra pre amp tube has its own volume control(muy grande) and can be activated by a footswitch. A passive effect loop; 16/8/4 ohm speaker switch and single speaker out complete this fine amplifier.
A very well thought out amplifier.
If you want superior tone, look no further.

The Gusher has a beautiful ZZ Top sizzle. Listen to Billy Gibbons play "Squank"; "Goin' Down To Mexico";"Old Man"; "Neighbor Neighbor" or any non sequenced ZZ Top albums and you'll hear the vibe that can be produced by the Gusher.
I'm using the Gusher with either a white 35th anniversary Marshall 4x12" greenback cabinet or a Fender 2x12 Tone Master cabinet loaded with 2 80 watt Celestions. For guitars, the Gusher favors my 1956 Les Paul Jr; 71 P90 LP Gold Top; 1969 ES 335 TDC; 1952 reissue copper Telecaster; 3 pick-up B Bender Fender Tele and 1999 PRS McCarty.
I sometimes bridge the volume inputs to get a fuller sound. When the extra pre amp tube kicks in, the Gusher really shines. Classic rock/blues/country tones are the Gushers specialty.
Beautiful old school tones here.

Reliability : 10
Rock solid.
I bought it used and play it every day.
Gerald Weber has been courteous with every telephone call and has returned all of my e mails.

I own over 20 amps and more guitars than I should. When I traded my Les Paul Special limited edition (#10 of 300) for the Gusher head my ratings of amplifiers changed. What used to be rated as a 10 is now rated a 5.
The Gusher is a suberbly built amplifier that has great classic rock tones in the Billy Gibbons, Jimmy Ray Vaughn,Rory Galagher, Charlie Sexton school.
If I need to add any effects, I use a reissue Fender Reverb tank, a late 70's Vox Wah and a Maxon OD808.
This is what a classic amp should sound like.
