Very simple control layout with Volume, Bass, Treble but has four inputs of varying gain and treble to adjust the amp character to match your unique guitar setup. Very cool and useful. Has a separate tube-driven reverb unit with Dwell, Tone and Mix controls. Very easy to find the sound you like. Plug in and go.

The tone from the K-Spot is incredible. I desribe it as tweed richness with blackface brightness and bass. Very lush and rich distortion with plenty of clean bass response. The reverb is one of the best I have ever heard. The amp reacts to your playing and picking style. Pick lightly and it quiets up but dig in and it growls with the best of them. Strats and Les Pauls both sound great through it. No pedals required. The amp is totally quiet when you are not playing.

Handmade and point-to-point wired. I have visited the Kendrick workshop and they do excellent work and use the finest components. Gerald has his own transformers made. They build amps for players and professional musicians that rely on their gear to work every night. I expect to replace the tubes every year or so, that is normal for any tube amp.

I have been playing for over 30 years and owned dozens of amps. Marshalls, Fenders, Mesa's, etc. I had to get one of these after hearing one at the Kendrick workshop and sold a few amps to get enough money to buy one. Well worth it and no regrets. If I had only one amp, it would be this one.

It may not seem like much, but the amplifier doesn't need a lot of features. Four inputs of various gain and treble rolloff give you a selection to match you guitar and palying style. The Volume, Treble, Bass controls give you flexability to fine tune the sound but they make it very easy to fine tune the tone to your room or band. The three knob reverb sounds incredible and rich. Lots of fine tuning capability. So in a nutshell, enough features to make it versatile but not only waht you need. Simplicity is the greatest feature about this amp. Guitar, cord, amp is all you need.

My personal opinion of the sound is tweed meets blackface. Rich distortion but with clean bottom end and thick reverb. Absolutely incredible sound with single coils or humbuckers. Extremely rich distortion sound and very three dimensional. You hear every note of a chord. Push it hard and the notes just seem to blossom out of a chord. The amp is very quiet, even when turned all the way up! This to me is the trademark of a great design with excellent components. The reverb is incredibly rich.

No problems. Gerald and his guys design and build their amps to be on the road, not in the shop. I expect to swap out the tubes every year or so.

I have played guitar/bass for over 30 years and have owned many amps in that time. I heard my first K-Spot at the Kendrick factory and was hooked. This is the sweetest sounding combo I have ever heard. Extremely touch responsive and sounds great with my Les Pauls or Strats. I sold some awesome amps to buy a K-Spot and have not looked back.

My K-Spot was manufactured in mid 2005. I play a wide variety of music styles. Mostly the classic guitar sounds. I use this for both electric and acoustic guitar amplification. All I want is an amp that sounds great; this is IT. This amp has one channel with four differently voiced inputs. The difference in the sound of the inputs are subtle but useful. This amp is versatile because it produces superior tone. THe reverb on this amp is much more of a sound tool than most onboard reverbs. I can see huge possibilities.

"If I have to spend a lot of time turning the the knobs and pressing the buttons to find MY sound, The sound I'm looking for is probably not in MY amp." The K Spot is the opposite of this last statement. The word the last reviewer used was "resonance". I can't think of a better word to describe the sound of the K-Spot. It resonates guitar tone better than any other amp I have ever used and it is the most natural sounding amp. I played with a guy on stage recently that used a similar sized and powered amp with a single 12" speaker. He could not believe the sound that I was getting. My sound was so big but it was so sweet sounding no one complained that I was too loud. His amp sounded so small compared to mine. I don't know how that big sound can come out of a single 12 inch speaker. There is no amp that I have used in 40 years of performance with the guitar that would could compare in just plain good tone.

I have used it continously for 6 months with no problems. I have now ordered my second K-Spot so that I may keep one at home to rehearse and one to keep on the job. I play at least 2 gigs a week. I can't imagine performing with another amp.

Gerald and his crew are passionate about their work, very friendly and sometimes long-winded. Not to a fault though. It was fun to get to know Gerald and his crew. I asked him to sign my amp "to Steve, my best friend in the world" and he laughed. I warn you though, don't expect your amp to arrive in a few short weeks. He is also passionate about quality and you will wait for his brand of quality. He told me that he was in search of some wood for the new amps. He wants the wood to be at least 100 years old as he feels it is vital to the tone of this amp. Who am I to argue? The proof is in the quality of the sound of my guitar. This is a great amp and expensive. But for those of us that have spent many times what this amp cost to buy amps that didn't sound half this good.... Oh well, for me my search is over.

I have been playing guitar and performing since I was 6 years old. I own 25 or so guitars and at least 15 amplifiers. I would recommend this amp for all serious guitarists. It is an investment in your tone. If your tone sounds great you will play better. It is not as heavy as some amps, but I wish all amps including this were lighter weight. I used to own mostly vintage Fenders and Marshalls. I am wondering what I am going to do with all my other amps?

PROBLEM IS HEARING ONE IF YOU DON'T ORDER DIRECT FROM KENDRICK AND WEB SITE CUTS do not nearly do it justice. i think there's a return policy of course after a few days of approval tho.if you want to try for an unbelievable sound call kendrick re the k spot-only 40 or so made so far i guess.
