This is my second Koch KV50.But now I also have the Koch KV50S.So I have a stereo sound.I think that the KV50 is one of the best products that Koch has build. It's got 3 channels en a lot of features.I sold my
Hughes & Kettner Triamp MKI to return to the KV50.This amp is very versatile.

I play a Tommy special guitars Strat (s/s/h) EMG and a Godin Solidac.
I have a Digitech 2112 that I use for the Effects. In the front I have a Booster and Compressor build by Ra-Jazz and a Cry Baby.I love my sound. It's more an american sound.I compare my sound with the Rivera TBR 1.I have a Hughes & Kettner CC412 A 25 Greenbacks speakercab.
According to my friend Ra-Jazz, my sound is good because of the El-84.

I play a ibanez musician.I Bought a new speaker cabinet for my baby.It is a Koch TS212 2x12.To complete the sound i use the Carl Martin chorus XII and the smallstone by Electr.Harmonix and on stage i use the Lexicon mpx 100.But even whitout these effects my baby sounds like Trijntje Oosterhuis.

Eventhough i'm in the music for more that 15 years, my amps never let me down.I hope this one does the same.I use the play on a mesa / marshall and traynor amp and all of them are fully tubed but they all worked 200%.It also depend on how treat them.

I only have the kv-50-s 50 watt all tubes power amp so not the pre amp or combo.
Because it is a poweramp it has no feature's just volume and speaker damping (that is working fine for home practice).
It has 4 tubes and is build in a 19 inch unit. I use a Korg AX1500 as a pre-amp and it works very well.

Before this i had a fender combo and the korg ax1500 and i couldn't use the amp simulation of the korg because it sounded horible, now i use the amp modulation on the korg and i can get almost any sound i want. The combination is extremely quit but when you hit your guitar it sound like the gate to hell has opened POWER POWER POWER.

No problems and it looks like i will never have.
Besides new tubes every 2 or 3 years.
The amp is made in The Netherland in amersfoort and thats only 30 miles from my home.

I could buy a Kitty Hawk pro junior and the koch together for 200 euro , recently i could change the kitty hawk for a koch 2 x 12 cabinet so i got the total combination for 200 euro.
If it were stolen i never can replace it for the money i'have payed i would buy a koch again. I would never sell it thats for sure.

The amp is fuuly amped by tubes. The year it is build i don't know. Though i don't even care. It is a 3 channel pre amp with a 50 waats power amp. I use it at home with a low output. Also on stage I can pull enough power to fill the stage. I use a Roland GP-16 and play on an Ibanez rg-40. The sound is incredible. The speakerdamping is the best feature it has, So you can pull a thin sound good for funk and jazz. If you play with it fully opened you can get the sound if you hear two guitars playing.

I play mostly Ibanez guitar with two humbuckers (Inf.). I mostly play amixture of gothic/doom. But also a lot of bluesrock solo. The amp sounds like having sex with a virgin. Very tight no noise and very pure. It is the most versatile amp I've ever heard. I only paid 1000 Dutch guilders for it. It used to be the amp of old Anouk guitarplayer. The distortion is pure and good enough to play hardrock. For metal it need to get a little boost up.

Never had any problems. It is very good cooled so you won't have the problem the tubes will get overheat and you've got a constant sound.

I do not know the company but they built a great amp. And why should it be repaired? Why repair something that probably (if you handle it with respect) never will break down?

I first played Kitty Hawk M-3. Great But I just wanted to get something so good that replacement of it is not an option. Further I have no comment.

This is a very veratile amp. It's about 8 years old and has two different fx-loops, a parallel, and a serial loop. It has a studio out jack, a balanced speaker output. The fx can be regulated by a knob, so that you can determine how much fx-signal you want to have in your amps sound. It has a footswitch with a lead, chrunch and clean channel. The crunch and leadchannel are the same (thats a shame). The equalizer is equipped with the usual bass, mid and treble. The clean channel has a bright switch, the overdrive channel has a mid and a bright switch. Overdrive is regulated by a volume (input), bite and overdrive knob. The amp also has a speaker dampening knob, witch comes in handy when you have to play very loud. It keeps the speaker from 'humming'

I'm playing a Washburn N2, and I also used a Ibanez John Petrucci. The amp lends itself to blues, metal, jazz simply every sound your looking for. I mostly use it for symfonic metal. The clean sound is very bright and deep; the overdrive is something between the counting crows and dream theater sound, depending on how you set it up. It's really good for metal as well as blues.

It's reliable, it's never broken down, although sometimes it hisses when you switch it on. I think the tubes need replacement. Recently I accedentally dropped it halfway down the stairs, but it's still working perfectly. Solid amp.

I once asked Koch about a manual, because I didn't get one, it was second hand. They didn't have one anymore, because it's out of production, but if I had any questions about the amp I could call them.

My overall rating is that it's a very good, reliable and proffesional amp. If I would buy a new amp it would alost certainly be a Koch. If I'd had to choose another amp, I think I'd buy a Mesa Boogie dual-rectifier because that's the only amp I know that has about the same sound. These amps are sold at a good price second hand!
