Guitars : ibanez rg270 with emg81 pickups , Epiphone les Paul
Racks : Korg DTR1 tuning rack, DOD 431 eq rack.
I play old school hardcore and metal. This amp is the perfect solution for me, with a clean channel that's really clean and sparkling (almost fender like with a telecaster) and two seperate gain channels, one normal gain channel for the old school band and a ultra gain channel for the metal band. So i can go from clean parts to pouding metal riffs in an instant, there even is a volume switch per channel so I can also swith from rhytm to lead and vice versa.
This is a very brutal machine, 120 watts of tube power, through a marshall 1960A cabinet. The distortion is really fat and has a good sense of low end (very nice when playing slayer like mosh parts).
This amp will blow away my old marshall jcm 900 any time of the day.

Well I never had any real problems with it until this week, it almost took ten minutes to warm up. I called koch and it's going to be fixed.

I sometimes mailed them with questions and got a nice and good response. I called them this morning about the problem above and they immediatle made an appointment for the same afternoon to get it fixed (luckily I live in Holland and only an hour's drive from the koch factory), they're very nice people. I actually never heard any negative things about them. Some of my friends even get other brands of amps fixed at koch, no problem.

I've been playing for about 8 years and owned a lot of stuff , mostly cheap combo's. I also had a jcm 900 but it sucked. The koch is perfect for me.
If it would be lost or stolen I probably get a new one, or maybe a dual rectifier.

I play several Gibson SG's and some Les Paul's and i mostly play Led Zeppelin stuff.
This amp sounds like crap in every department! Not enough gain, muddy as hell. Even after retubing this SOB it still sounds like a couple of freight trains passing by(all muffled). surely not suited for any type of rock/metal/music playing. With 120 watt's it isn't even loud..
Total crap.. I found myself using a tube screamer over the clean channel.

I've been playing for about 6 years and own several amps. I've traded in a 5150 combo for this powertone... WOHA big mistake!! God knows i've tried every Compressor/Equalizer/Sonic maximizer to squeeze some decent tones out of this piece of junk. Get Mesa/VHT/5150/JCM900 if you want to rock.

Bad, in 3 years i have had several problems with this amp. One of the power amp tubes will not glow sometimes. Now last week my amp is really f**** up because the fuse keeps popping out and i don't know what the problem is. The amp of mine has had repairs for 5 times now!
So don't buy this one!
