I use this head with an american tele with texas specials, a Yamaha Mike Stern Tele with 59 and hotrails Duncans and an Epiphone 335 with Gibson 59 Classics. I hook it up to a Koch 2x12 closed back cabinet with 90W Koch/Jenssens in it. From the guitar straight in a Vox wah(true bypass), a DOD envelope filter and Tubescreamer. In the loop I have a Ibanez analog chorus and a Line 6 delay modeller.
At the moment I play in a coverband (funk, blues, soul and rock), which means I want an amp that will give me a variety of sounds. I used to play a Mesa DC-3, that had a great "liquid" leadsound, but for all the -in between- sounds, I had to use my tubescreamer. It worked, but I didn't really like the clean sound of the Mesa, so I started looking.
TONEWISE; I'm not happy with it... I'M very happy with it! Classic Fenderish clean and a very responsive OD channel. It means I can get anything from ultraclean, clean with an edge, classic rock sounds to rich, creamy, gainy, liquid, well... whatever you want. My favourite gitarists? Robben Ford, Scofield, Van Halen, Metheny, Scott Henderson. Can I get their tone? Nooooo, but I get close.
My verdict is this is an incredible amp, probably the last I'll ever buy (yeah right, said my girlfriend...)

This is a 2001 model year Koch Twintone. 2 Channel amplifier with boost on each channel, boost provides more volume not more gain. Reverb, FX loop that is buffered and kept at a level that works well with both stomp boxes and rack effects. built in power soak that takes the unit from 50 watts to 25 or 0. Also has a recording out that sounds amazing and a headphone out (don't think I will use that much) I purchased the head version and use it with a mesa 2x12 vertical recto cab. The head uses 4 12AX7s Shipped with one sovtek 12ax7wa and 3 12ax7EH electo harmonix, Uses 2 EL34's and came shipped with svetlanas.

I have gone through a bunch of equipment trying to find MY sound. I am a worship leader in a church that plays Loud guitars but also need to have a killer clean tone. I bought this amp and expected to live with the short comings of a channel switching amp. I was planning to purchase a....gulp....Boogie Rectoverb (just for the features) but after finding this head at Wildwood Guitars I decided to give it a try, besides it wasn't as wide as my vertical mesa recto 2x12 so I figured it wouldn't look as dorky as the Rectoverb hanging over the edge.
I am floored by the tones available on this amp. The clean is clean and the tone controls really do something. The gain side is massive. I have the gain at about 10:00 and have more than I need, although there is way more on tap. The effects loop actually works with my dl4 and the voodoo trem that I use. The amp is quiet and I don't hear any noise when foot switching. The boost feature is great for solos easy to set the volume level where YOU want it not a generic boost to the signal like the shiva that I had. In Fact this amp reminds me quite a bit of the shiva. 2 channel el34, reverb, boost, fx loop. A few major differences though, this amp sounds good, the fx loop doesn't kill your tone, and it is about 1000.00 less than the Shiva. I would recomend that ANYONE INTERESTED IN A SHIVA SHOULD AT LEAST CONSIDER THIS AMP.
The true test of an amp is in a live band situation. I used this amp with the recording out function direct into our board and it sounded exactly like it did on stage. I could hear myself above the acoustic, drums, djembe, bass, vocals and other guitarists 50 watt JMP half stack and still was told by the sound guy that he finally felt that my stage volume was under control!
I use this amp with a Grosh Bent top custom and a PRS CU22 and a warmoth strat. All of the guitars sound amazing through the amp.
This amp has some what of a compressed tone (nowhere near the shiva) and I like that sound. It is not as squished as the Guytron but players that are used to a super fast attack like a VHT or a Roccaforte probably won't dig the amp as much as I do.
Pedals on the front end work well I run a OD-820 and a superfuzz into the front with a rmc wah.
Ratings are subjective so I am boycotting them

I think that I may be done looking for an amplifier. (oh yeah, right)
I would buy another in a heart beat. It wouldn't even be a consideration I would just do it.
This amp is TOUGH to beat at the 2000.00 price point, for under a grand it is easily the best amp that I have heard.
