My amp was made in 2009 in Scottsdale AZ.! It has 2 channels "Krank" (gain channel) and "Kleen" (duh!) The krank channel has Master, Gain, Treble, Mid, Bass and Sweep. The Kleen channel has Volume, Treble and bass. It has an active effects loop with volume control and a presence control on the back. The head is only 16" wide and weighs only 25 pounds! It has 5 12ax7 tubes (three for pre, one for effects loop and PI driver for power tubes) and 5881 power tubes. The one great feature, Fixed bias! No need to have amp biased after retube.

Sound Quality : 10
This is where this head shines! This little head just flat out screams! The Krank channel can get as dirty as you want, I never have the gain over 6. That's all I need and I do play everything from country to metal. The sweep control is a parametric mid control. Almost like a contour on other amps. The gain on this amp is unbelievable! It is so clear, when you hit a cord you can hear each string ring out. Not like the "fuzz" you get on other amps. Each note played sounds so crisp and clear. I've owned some of the higher end amps (Mesa Dual Rectifier, Mesa Rocker 44, Mesa 50 caliber +, Marshall TSL 100, TSL 60 and DSL 50, Peavey JSX and 5150, still own the peaveys and DSL 50) and this little head kills them all! I can only imagine what the Revolution full size head is like! Don't let the 50 watts fool you. I play with a drummer that beats the heck out of his kit and I've never had this head over 5 even when playing live in a club without micing! It also has as much bass response as my 5150! That's saying a lot. Until now I've never heard a head that had as much bass as a 5150. This little head can do it all! Well maybe not Jazz, but at a low enough volume (Think a drummer with brushes) it could!

Reliability : No Opinion
I haven't had this head that long (under 3 months) but so far so good. Krank has a lifetime warranty on their head so I'm good to go!

The guys at Krank are amazing! Much better to talk to than Mesa! Krank has a forum on their website that gives a lot of info and one of their techs monitors it daily. If you need something or have a question they are right there with an answer.

I've been playing for over 30 years and have owned just about every piece of gear you could think of. This is a keeper! If it were lost or stolen I would buy another in a heartbeat! I can't say enough about this head. Just go buy one!

I bought mine in December 2008. It's a very simple all tube 2-Channel high gain amp head with (3) 12AX7 preamp Tubes and (2) 5881 Power Tubes. The amp is also equipped with an FX Loop which includes a volume Boost located on the Rear Panel next to the FX Loop Inputs. Just in case you need that extra signal pushed through your Pedals that usually might have cause some Volume Drop in other amps.
(I use it a method of playing at super low volumes ??? Master Gain at 3 (front panel), Boost engaged (rear panel), and Use the Boost Volume to adjust from zero volume to super quietness to be able to play while my kids sleep, and still be able to get a nice saturated high gain metal tone!!) It acts like a half volume...kinda...I know that wasn't it's original intent, but that's what works for me.

I play Death Metal and Progressive Metal and it definitely has enough volume and gain to play in a band with, and play the type of music I do.

A Great feature is that it does not need to be biased for a tube switch or tube swap!!! (also accomodates 6V6 Tubes)

6V6 Tubes in this amp gives it a very creamy, buttery type tone at 30 watts. The 5881's are very aggressive in comparison and also have a much more noticeable low end thump. I usually prefer the 5881's but for recording purposes it's nice to know I have other tonal options.

This amp doesn't like my EQ pedal in front or in the Loop, I get a very high pitched squeal at high volumes and need to decrease the gain settings which I have at 6 or 7 typically...pending where I have the Master Volume set at. This kinda bummed me out but overall I'm very happy with what it does for me. I know it???s not the pedal that???s jacked up. I used it in my previous rig without any tone suckage.

Sound Quality : 7
I use an LTD H-302 Guitar with an SD Distortion pickup in the Bridge and a '59 in the neck for my cleans and leads (if needed) and the amp runs through an Emperor 2x12 Cab loaded with G12T-75's

For a High Gain head, it's actually not noisy at all, But I do use an ISP G-String pedal with it, so it's a non factor to me.

The Kleen Channel is pretty good, very decent up until about "7" on the volume controls. Then it gives a very overdriven AC/DC type breakup. Very useable!
The Krank Channel can get very dirty! There's almost TOO MUCH gain IMO! But when set moderately it cleans up pretty good with dialing down the volume on the Guitar.

The front panel includes a Sweep Control (which seems to control the Midrange much like Parametric EQ), a Bass, Midrange, and Treble EQ Controls. There IS a presence control...but it's located on the rear panel next to the FX Loop as well, I guess it can be a pain if you like to tweak the presence a lot, but I usually just set it once and leave it alone. I figured that it was placed there because of lack of space on the Front.

Also on the Front Pane is a Separate Volume, Bass Control, and Treble Control for the Kleen Channel.

This amp IS Footswitchable! Although there is a separate Push Button on the Front Panel located between the Krank and Kleen controls, just in case you don't have your Footswitch.

Reliability : 10
I bought this amp to be used as my main amp so I had a custom road case made for it.I plan on getting another one as a backup...OR I might get a larger Revolution One head and this one will become my backup.

I plan on taking care of it, so Im not worried about breaking it...It looks like it's built very solid.

Customer Support : No Opinion
The guys at Krank have been very helpful to me in all my questions and always respond in a timely manner whenever I have questions.

I haven't had to use the Warranty and hope I never have to.

I've been playing for 18 years. I've owned several amps in those years, and I'm very happy with my purchase.
I'd be pissed if this got stolen because I just sold my other amps! But I like the tones I'm getting with it. I'm a gear whore so if it got stolen I'd most likely try something else.
But I think this one's a keeper because it's compact and light, and just flat out sounds killer!! Little amp or Not...it's got good tone!
I prefer this Amp over my adored ADA MP-1 and VHT 2/50/2 set up for sure!

I wish it came with a Stand-By switch that's it, otherwise I dig it!
