Made in 2007 I believe. I purchased it about a year ago, looking for an amp that was quiet enough to play in a dorm (I'm in college now) and loud enough to play small shows. I was sick of the line 6 spider III combos littering the floors of guitar centers everywhere. I'm not a millionaire so I don't have the money for the half stack, but by no means did I want to pay hundreds of dollars for a half-assed product. I tell you right now, this amp is unbelievable in every sense of the word. There is always SOMETHING that I hate about an amp. There is NOTHING I hate about this amp. Would I have liked presence/resonance and maybe some eq for the clean channel? Yeah, but honestly if you have a guitar with, say, PAF pickups like a les paul, you're gonna get a great clean tone regardless. The sweep control, I repeat, THE SWEEP CONTROL IS THE BEST FEATURE ON THE AMP. Here's why.

Ok. This is the most important factor of any amp. I have been a musician since I was four years old, and have years of musical training, including aurally (ear). This amp is exactly what I look for. I'm not the easiest guitarist to provide for, and this amp gives me everything I want. I love zeppelin, and so if I feel like krankin some vintage tones? Keep the sweep low, boost the mids a bit, and keep that treble defined. Amazing tone. Van Halen? You got it. The boost feature is great; there is just so much gain to be had. The bass, mid, and treble controls are very responsive, as is the volume and gain knob. I use a gibson explorer with seymour duncan blackouts installed. Before that I used the 500T gibson set that it came with, and those are some great pups. It picks up (ha ha) all of the subtle nuances that different pickups have are very present. I have played many guitars through the amp. The warmth of a SD JB is just...indescribable! Bluesy tones are no problem, and I'm not talking like SRV I mean literally BB King. The eminence speaker is great and a nice touch. Now say you want scooped mids, I don't particularly use that tone, and don't really understand why it seems so popular among the thousands of teenagers wielding their EMG equipped epiphone guitars because 'metallica used scooped mids for Ride the Lightning Master of Puppets.." blah blah yeah I know. I find that keeping the sweep at a little less than 12 O'clock gives you the modern edge without scooping out the mids. VIRTUALLY SILENT. I also want to point out that I have occasional guilty pleasures in the form of modern rock and nu-metal (but not Korn or Slipknot! unlike everyone else) and the amp performs wonderfully. I say f**k the marshall JCM 800. I've played it too, and it sounds great. BUT NOT GREAT ENOUGH!!!! BEST MODERN METAL TONE I HAVE HEARD TO DATE.

THIS IS ANOTHER VERY IMPORTANT FACTOR. The wood is extremely sturdy and resonant. I have literally, thrown the amp head at the ground very hard for no reason other than to test its durability. My friend has a peavey 6505 head and he's had it short out and f**k up I don't know how many times. Never with this amp. No problems in the almost year and a half that I have had it. I take it everywhere, throw the head and cab (I only bought one cab) in the trunk over and over again, and it just gives me the tone I am looking for, always. USE IT WITHOUT A BACKUP. You have my FULL CONFIDENCE that this amp will perform night after night with no hassle. No problems, no break downs. Just works. Every time.

I never have dealt with the company. Probably won't have to. Don't really care. Warranty is a year I suppose. I bet this beast will last me years and years.

My passion is guitar playing. I find it fascinating, horrifying, and just beautiful. Words cannot describe how much I love playing the guitar, and no word in the english language that I am aware of can describe my satisfaction with this amp. Rest assured, I am an adult, who has played many guitars and does not judge and use bias when trying new gear. I also have the ability to spell words correctly (can you believe how many of these reviews have spelling errors? Unbelievable) I want you to try this amp. If you play music like Sabbath, play your SG through this thing. If you play music like Nile, use an dimarzio x2n equipped guitar and play through this amp. If you play sh**ty music, buy this amp. I paid 700 dollars for the head and cab, and I plan on getting the other cab soon. YOU HAVE MY FULL CONFIDENCE THAT YOU WILL BE SATISFIED WITH YOUR PURCHASE. And I don't even work for Krank..they should offer me an advertising job or something...and with that money I'll probably buy the rest of the krank products.

Right now I'm playing a telecaster into this beast. I boost the Krank channel with a Boss SD-1. It sounds great, I can get from a marshall metal tone to a Mesa tone in seconds. The cabinets sound fantastic, plenty of lows and a great midrange. The highs are sometimes not present enough but I think its my guitar NOT the amp. You can get tons of volume and distortion out of this baby, the only reason I boost it is because I like that extra sustain and tweak that you get out of the speakers from the overdrive, but you may find that there is no need to do this. The treble control is VERY VERY POWERFUL!!!!!!
The "Kleen" channel sounds great, I can get an awesome "spank" tone out of my tele now. Just turn down the Channel volume and Increase the master and walla! you have a fender sound (Or close to).

2007 model
I just purchased this amp two days ago... Beautiful... Thats all I can say.. Its loud enough to play small venues with, and if they have a decent sound system and mics then it doesnt matter anyway... all tube, 20 watts, two channels, fx loop(active), 2 1x12 eminence loaded cabs..
It is very reactive and can go from clean to all out metal just from turnin your volume knob... love it

Great variety of sounds, I play in a jazz trio and in a melodic metal group and it works for both of them... You want a country twang turn the gain down a little and go. I play a YJM strat and an Ibanez hollowbody with a duncan jazz in the neck position... Its suits me just fine... I was playing Laney's before they were getting hard to find. Now I'll stick to this little guy and the Chadwick I'm waiting for...

Krank's customer support is excellent... I've heard from people who don't actually own Krank amp's that they are not helpful... That's bullshit.. I called, they answered all my question's and more... I live about 20 miles from them... Great Company...

I've been playing for 26 years, I have multiple laney's, a bogner, etc... If my Krank amps were stolen... I'd hunt down the ass that stole them and hang him by his own tongue.. Then I'd go buy another one... maybe with a chrome grill and red tolex this time.... That's another thing call Krank tell them a color they'll build you an amp that way... How about that for service... gotta love it... Thanks Krank
