1970's, 4-channel, supposedly a PA head though i havent used it as such... each channel has volume, reverb (doesnt work), bass, treble...

i run it into a 1968 fender bassman cab, with a plethora of guitar types into a little bigmuff and a delay. it sounds good with all of them. it has a lot of natural midrange, probably because it's a PA... just the right amount of mid for me, so a mid knob isnt necessary, you can also shape the behavior of the mids using the bass/treble knobs.
It has an excellent raw, almost Supro-esque tone about it, Clean it reminds me alot of the Doors, and with distortion it reminds me a lot of the Smashing Pumpkins and the White Stripes.
All in all, this has WAY more personality as a guitar amp than a PA... it was OK for that, but didnt really give the vox any flavor or pronunciation. guitar is MUCH better.

the reverb was broken when i bought it, and im not motivated enough to reconnect/fix/remove it... other than that it's 100%, but bad for 35-40+ years old... might replace the slightly dodgy power cord, but its a cool 20 feet long or so, im liking that...

Great sounds from this head - very vintage. An ad for this old PA (about the only photo of it i could find) called it "the sound of the Seventies." i might be using it for a newer application, but it couldnt be more true. it's got all the attitude of rock-n-roll 1970 and thensome.
